The sensible hat actually looks good. Lady from our family told us how ear muffs are worn because you don't want injury from cold ear rings in the bitter cold.
Hey there penguin, I guess I'm coming on Sunday .. I am a broke duck..lol... But I'm going to give it a shot I have my Marc ticket to Union S... I haven't received credentials yet either for volunteer work... I've got the arena tickets.. and if I end up being the only one coming from here... Then I'll have five extra tickets for the inauguration.. I only have one extra ticket for the arena on Sunday... My question to you is where would be the best place for me to stay the night for under a hundred bucks.. I don't have a card to pre-order... Just paper ... So I can't order in advance.... So I thought... If I can't find a place to stay the night on Sunday then I'll just stay at the train station or something... I hope I run into people that are good people that may need help getting in... But until I get there I won't know.. the people that were coming with me are older than me and they just don't think they're going to be able to do it because of the weather....
I saw rooms at the embassy for under a hundred bucks or around 100 bucks $120 and the generator house?? It's like 80 bucks on Expedia of course I don't have a card... I might be able to figure something out... But yeah I was hoping you had some better advice it's been a long time since I've been in DC
I think the person driving the truck had a medical emergency. They didn't break when hitting the car and veered off hard. My husband had a medical emergency recently while driving and his vehicle did a similar thing; hit a car and veered off in the opposite direction. Thankfully he survived 🙏
were there any self-driving capabilities that took over? i wonder about the utility of those cars that can detect the lanes. even nissan versa's can read the lane markers, i wonder if this could save lives.
Thank you for "taking us with you" every day you work! We appreciate you and the awesome job you do! Please be careful, stay safe and stay warm. Again, thank you for being an awesome freelancer who "takes us with you!"
You sure put in a lot of great effort to keeping us informed on what goes on in D.C. Andrew! You are constantly walking and all those burgers and fries hasn't hurt your figure at all. Thank you so much for the work you do.. 😃👍
It's really kind of you to take us with you, and giving us great views and info about DC!!! Everyday is like 'take my fellow Americans, and others to work day!!!!
That was a very long cold and dark half mile walk down by the river. Though very good view of all the workings and gear it takes for the first responders. Not easy dealing with with rescue.
What a fantastic job you do. No hype, just the facts. With you working alone, no crew, you are able to cover a lot of territory. You are my go-to guy to see what's happening .

Thank you so much P6. I've been obessed w the truck in the water since the 11 o'clock news last night. I was hoping you would be there bc you can get us close. Your coverage never disappoints. I was getting a bit concerned w Marine One. That wind was whipping. Don't know how you stood on a ladder. I am sure you will find some place to cover the Inauguration. I hope you stay warm whenever it may be. I hope you had a nice dinner w your wife. You owed her big time after last night. See you later. Stay warm & Take care.
It's amazing how your videos provide insights into what is happening that are never in the soundbytes provided by the news. The background you provide, even the race through the WH to get to the south lawn to catch the helicopter depaart/land is very interesting as we only ever see the "final shot" in the news, never what happens before with all reporters scrambling. So your videos are always appreciated.
0:12 truck driver might have a health issue, did not apply on brake, no turning light, just hit the car in front... sorry to the family for the loss...
Andrew! That's not a "stupid hat!" You're a handsome guy who should never be concerned about what you're wearing to stay warm! 🥰 Thank you for always going the extra mile (or 2 or 3 or 10 😄) to get the best news and coverage for us. We appreciate all your hard work sooo much! Very, very sad news about the accident on the bridge...Praying for all involved and their families. 🥺😢🙏
Always thought the decoys were identical. It’ll be interesting watching the Trump transition through your channel. Thanks for a great video every time.
Thank you for this awesome channel. I'm a massive history nerd and love DC very much. Will be watching the inauguration too. Hopefully everything goes well and the ceremony will be enjoyable.
Oh my goodness look at all those chairs that’s incredible. Stay warm Andrew it’s going to be really cold this coming week. Thanks for explaining the process of the press pass, I hope you get one this is way better than what the news covers. Thank you!
I totally shuttered when that diver went in the water - - BRRRRR. Thanks for showing the inside of DC. I haven't been there in a very long time and not likely to get back (though it's from limited mobility as I live near Hagerstown) I'll just depend on you for a more concise and interesting point of view of DC.
P6 I can't thank you enough for always providing the best coverage of what's happening in D.C. As an Amcit resident abroad, I rely on you heavily. I don't always comment, but I do appreciate your efforts to keep us informed!
Thanks, Andrew. You are amazing!! ❤ All that driving thru the crazy DC traffic...wowza! I would be nuts even though in my late 20's, my ex husband and I lived in Arlington and thought nothing of negotiating through all the DC mess. Its very sad that someone lost their life in that accident. I hope your dinner was excellent and way above what you would have had at McDonald's, lol. See ya Monday. That's gonna be a super crazy mess!!! (Glad it's you and not me.) 😅
I am always amazed at how much ground you cover and you always are in position to get the right photos, how you do it is beyond me !!! I hope you had a nice date night with your wife ! That is some amazing work by the rescue personnel, prayers for the families who lost loved ones 🙏
Editing and videography, this is award winning content, by sudden intent on a second mission of importance. I had to Subscribe , like, and ring the bell
Wow. Long walks in the cold to bring this story! A true journalist. 🏆 And now I see why you aren’t worried about eating all those french fries. You know you’re gonna work it off!
Looking back in history, if I'm not mistaken, this bridge seems familiar. I can't recall whether it was in the '80s or '90s, but a commercial jetliner experienced problems shortly after takeoff. The plane skimmed the top of the bridge, knocking a few cars off into the icy, frigid waters below. It ultimately crashed into the frozen river. I remember the breaking news coverage as emergency responders pulled passengers from the freezing water.
The Marine opening and closing the doors was… obviously freezing because he was in a huge hurry. I’ve never a Marine throw his upper body around like that. His point turns were the same. Like he was thrusting his body into place rather than the smooth snap. Poor guy.
"Looking forward to some good coverage of the incoming administration......." Exactly what do you mean "good" coverage, if there's any coverage at all that in itself will be "good" coverage in any condition (lol?).
I've been to DC so I know how long those city blocks are. If you are crossing the street, you can get halfway across, then wait in the median to finish crossing. The streets are that wide.
Those who believe it’s a holiday for the inauguration, that’s incorrect. It’s a federal holiday for Martin Luther Kings birthday. Inauguration just happens to fall on the same day.
Many public schools in the immediate area would be closed for the inauguration anyway, like in D.C., Arlington County and municipal city of Alexandria, at least that's how it's gone for many decades.
They have to rescue who ever would be in the truck as quick as possible because of hypothermia. As soon as it happened they would have no idea how many people would need pulled from the icy waters but they only pulled one the night it happened. Other news channels are now saying that they found a body of a 2nd victim inside the truck when the truck was pulled from the water.
Thank You so much for all that you do! I never in my lifetime would have imagined that I would be seeing so much of our nations capital as you show it and report on so much!!!
Thanks for all the videos. Been saying last night and this morning that the swearing in is going to take place inside of the national capital. That's as of Saturday morning news.
P6, don't you ever apologize for your black hat that covers your ears. You take care of yourself and this frigid weather.
The sensible hat actually looks good. Lady from our family told us how ear muffs are worn because you don't want injury from cold ear rings in the bitter cold.

I thought the same thing when I saw the video. I'm so glad your husband is all right.
Those Marine One pilots are SO good at take off and landing. Even with all that turbulence, lift of and landing was smooth as silk! Bravo!
Those divers are beyond brave and amazing people
