I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.
Wannabe is one of the best bops to come out last year and definitely the best choreography that ITZY had to date imo. Props to Ryujin for creating that shoulder move! They should have won Best Dance Performance for this last year.

I watched wannabe every day at the beginning of the lockdown last year.... And it brought me so much joy and energy. The song holds kind of a special place in my heart
lmaoo same. I never thought I’d learn the whole dance routine by just watching but apparently I just did thanks to them releasing multiple dance practices, music stages and the iconic studio choom 😭 got a lot of free time during lockdown lol

Finally! Someone said it. I agree how the shoulder move is almost at the very front. So it's even more difficult😭
Can we just appreciate that he doesn’t just say “ oh this move was cool” or “ oh that was super steady”. he actually goes into detail and explains exactly what makes that move cool and how to make that move steady. you can tell he’s really experienced. even though his background is contemporary and lyrical his hip hop analysis are just as in depth.

For the mv Ryu cuts a wig! The mv alternates shots of her in the wig and her real hair you can see it in the behind the scenes and she also said it in interviews :)

It's LeeJung Lee from YGX who created the shoulder dance and most of the choreography like the dance break. You can check her dancing to her choreography. :)) Other choreographers like Lia Kim and Kiel Tutin(not sure if it's him but it's not a korean choreographer) also contributed some choreo

The shoulder move is one of the most knowable move of ITZY
The shoulder isolation is kinda weird if u dont really have a isolation practice or never dance with a large isolation like that. Its kinda hurt at first if you try it, cause its moving so fast. Im a dancer and I recommend all of you to try practice your shoulder isolation. But never expect you can get the same movement at ur first practice. Its took a while maybe months or years, if ur body are smart maybe u can get it for 2 weeks.

You should make a video about the Girls Planet 999 individual (세로캠Girls Planet 999) videos and pick your top 10 dancers! My favorite is 아라이 리사코(Risako), she killed the dance the best in my opinion! There are a lot of known kpop idols/trainees competing in the show. I think the talented unknowns will not get much exposure T.T
For me I don't know why but I always think itzy are different like their songs are so unique for me everytime I feel like they are new groups when I see their concept and songs!!!

Ryujin isn't the one who choreograph the shoulder dance. It's Lee Jung lee. A YG Dancer & Choreographer. The fact is, Yeji is originally the one who will start the shoulder dance but she said it's suit for Ryujin to do the shoulder dance instead of her, so she just said to the choreographer to make Ryujin do that.
That information is said exactly by Ryujin & Yeji in their Vlive together last year :)

You the know the shoulder dance is hard, because if you look at Lia, she actually doesn't quite do it - the move where you punch forward, she misses the shoulder shimmy in the middle because it's so hard!
