This is an introduction video to the Monport 60W CO2 Laser. There will be plenty more videos using this machine along with the rotary tool. There will be affiliate links below for everything in the video.
This is a great route to take to get started in the CNC market. This machine can do more than I can imagine. This video will cover the LightBurn software and testing the laser out. Feel free to leave any feedback or questions in the comments.

Monport, with six months left on my warranty they are giving the run around. The first thing that broke were the cheap hinges they put on the door. Ok i replaced those with no complaint, then the key swicth, ok they replaced that on my first year, then auto z probe did not stop on automatic z0 setting, then the laser power supply burned up a couple of transistors, then they send the wrong probe and said they will replace it. But as of yet nothing. Every time i send an email i get a different person, (The Run Around) No probe nor laser power supply yet. I have talked to several people with Monport machines, and they are having the same problem. I paid for the machine on May 2022 and received it on October 2022, and they are saying that the warranty expires on May 2024, you do the math. If i were to do it over i would not buy a Monport.
Unfortunately ive heard a couple stories like this. Not good. Hopefully they get it right for you.
Good video. For the price, some of the big laser companies in China like Gweike can provide machines like LG6040N or similar with premium brand components like RECI or Yongli tubes, S&A chillers, auto-focus, electronic z-axis lift etc at about the same price (including freight). Lasermen is a little cheaper, but provides all the same brand components as well as hybrid servo motors. Both companies have been building lasers for a long time and have a full lineup of industrial lasers. For the price, seems like the Monport is lacking premium features - they are kind of like Xtool - everything is an addon and extra - and those things add up fast.

Idea for ya, can you build a shelf on the side of the laser so the chiller will ride along anytime you move the laser?
Possibly, but it will block the exhaust vent. Id like to keep it on the left side. Once i get the shop set up ill try ro find a better way. Good idea though.
I am assuming this does not use wifi? Do you know if you can make it work over wifi with some sort of add on?
Im not sure on that one. It uses a ruida controller. Could properly look into options for that controller.
With the in-line fan, everyone says you are going to want to remove the internal fan. They will fight each other
Good point. The inline fan is way more powerful too. If anything, the built in fan is probably restricting. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC Monport and Omtech are basically the same machine. There are lots of videos on the Omtech about upgrades.

I am ready for winter and I am hoping we get a lot of snow. Last year before winter we bought a new snow dogg snow plower for my truck and we didn't get any snow. to plow. I want to try it out. I used to have to go out and sit on that tractor for hours. By the way my tractor does not have a cab. LET IT SNOW!!!

Ive noticed i just like repeating words a lot.
Not sure if this would help but they do make a USB to ethernet adapter that allows you yo go over greater lengths. Maybe you could do that for your machines and then into a USB hub to the laptop.
Ive been using one for almost a year without any issues, plus doesnt need power and inexpensive off Amazon about 15.

I like it. Its a pretty cool laser. I dont use it a whole lot but i plan on using it more this winter. I just posted a new video with it this morning.

Its pretty quite. You can hear the stepper motors and the exhaust. Not bad though

can this creature be dismantled into reduced weight parts and moved to basement and reassembled it?
I think omtech posted a video bot to long ago showing how to disassemble to get it through a door or into a tight space. Same unit so it should work with the Monport too.
If you would do it over again, would you get the monport laser? I’m debating between omtech and monport.
I dont have a lot of time on it in all honesty ive had no issues with is. There may be a comparison coming soon between the two.
Do you have to use a 5200? I have the same machine but my water cooler is 3000,

Just depends on how far your exhausting it. Id say 6-12’ is adequate.
