Monport, with six months left on my warranty they are giving the run around. The first thing that broke were the cheap hinges they put on the door. Ok i replaced those with no complaint, then the key swicth, ok they replaced that on my first year, then auto z probe did not stop on automatic z0 setting, then the laser power supply burned up a couple of transistors, then they send the wrong probe and said they will replace it. But as of yet nothing. Every time i send an email i get a different person, (The Run Around) No probe nor laser power supply yet. I have talked to several people with Monport machines, and they are having the same problem. I paid for the machine on May 2022 and received it on October 2022, and they are saying that the warranty expires on May 2024, you do the math. If i were to do it over i would not buy a Monport.
I AM GETTING SICK AND TIRED OF YOU NEGLECTING THE KEYSTONE GIRL AND LEAVING HER OUT OF THESE VIDEOS!!! LOL, just kidding.....damn man, youre moving up in the world. New farm, new machines....I LOVE IT!! Keep up the videos, I keep coming back! See ya brother. 👋🏻
Haha. I know i know. Shes always busy with the kids. Its hard to get the timing right so i can steal her away for a bit. Ya im trying to get everything situated but its starting to come together. Been a lot of hard work. Thanks for supporting the channel!
Thanks for the video it was really interesting. Can you tell me how noisy the laser is when its Running please. This is because the place that I want to put the Laser cant be too noisy. Thanks
This is great! I know how great Monport is because i have one on my shop, I love your video, I can't wait to see what you create with the rotary tool too! This is definitely going on my wish list again 👍
I am ready for winter and I am hoping we get a lot of snow. Last year before winter we bought a new snow dogg snow plower for my truck and we didn't get any snow. to plow. I want to try it out. I used to have to go out and sit on that tractor for hours. By the way my tractor does not have a cab. LET IT SNOW!!!
Possibly, but it will block the exhaust vent. Id like to keep it on the left side. Once i get the shop set up ill try ro find a better way. Good idea though.
I've asked and asked about moving a laser to my basement but can't get an answer from MP... I have a side door, a landing and stairs 36" wide to the basement. It's not much room and the machine is heavy but in your opinion can heavy components of the unit be removed and taken down separately to make the machine lighter without damaging anything? Thanks for any info you can offer me.
I'm not sure the 3000 has the built in compressor and cooling system like the 5200, I think that's the difference. It's essentially a fancy version of the tank and pump. I ordered a Vevor chiller.
Not sure if this would help but they do make a USB to ethernet adapter that allows you yo go over greater lengths. Maybe you could do that for your machines and then into a USB hub to the laptop. Ive been using one for almost a year without any issues, plus doesnt need power and inexpensive off Amazon about 15. Great video as always, thanks for the laughs 😂
I think omtech posted a video bot to long ago showing how to disassemble to get it through a door or into a tight space. Same unit so it should work with the Monport too.

Unfortunately ive heard a couple stories like this. Not good. Hopefully they get it right for you.
These things are very cool!!
Just purchased this machine. It should be in by next week. After watching your video, I can't wait! Super excited.
Awesome! Congrats on your purchase. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.

This is because the place that I want to put the

Thanks
Its pretty quite. You can hear the stepper motors and the exhaust. Not bad though

This is a very impressive engraver.
Ya it really is. Powerful and quick. Hope everything is good with you Bob. Are you getting prepared for fall cleanup?

@@boblynn1881 thats pretty brutal jn the winter with no can. Hopefully you get to try that new plow out.
I am assuming this does not use wifi? Do you know if you can make it work over wifi with some sort of add on?
Im not sure on that one. It uses a ruida controller. Could properly look into options for that controller.
any info on leveling the bed? got the same unit, but the front right is about 1mm lower than the three other corners...
Brother!! You got a CO2 laser?!? So happy for you man. Slowly upgrading your business capabilities
Thanks! Its a pretty impressive laser.
Idea for ya, can you build a shelf on the side of the laser so the chiller will ride along anytime you move the laser?
Possibly, but it will block the exhaust vent. Id like to keep it on the left side. Once i get the shop set up ill try ro find a better way. Good idea though.
works fine on my MAC using usb and lightburn.
Well done for an Austin guy!
Whats an Austin guy?
Thank you for sharing! After a month or so how are you liking it? My glowforge is a paper weight right now and thinking about this one.
I like it. Its a pretty cool laser. I dont use it a whole lot but i plan on using it more this winter. I just posted a new video with it this morning.
Did you mount a camera with yours? If so what camera did you install. Thank you Love your videos. The 60W
I do not have a camera in mine. Honestly didnt know that was an option.
Love this video!
Great video.
I am looking to add a laser cutter to my shop next year..
Thanks! So far im really liking that Monport. Hopefully i can get some more videos out soon using it.
Looking forward to seeing more!@@SpicerDesignsLLC
On stainless steel I use Molly spray for engraving
Thanks for the info. Ill check into that
Sorry it's called Dry Moly Lube

Do you need the larger bed size or do you just need a CO2 laser? You could likely remove the bracket/ legs on the bottom and get it to fit.
Awesome. I sure hope you make 100 trillion dollars with your giant Laser.
Haha. Well if i do ill throw all my subs a couple million

lol
If you would do it over again, would you get the monport laser? I’m debating between omtech and monport.
I dont have a lot of time on it in all honesty ive had no issues with is. There may be a comparison coming soon between the two.
Get a Laguna Tools. Omtech and Monport are just copy cats
What is the reason for the license?
That would be a question for lightburn.
Is the built-in exhaust adequate?
Just depends on how far your exhausting it. Id say 6-12’ is adequate.
“That coating on it” is mill scale.
Correct
Lol. I know I just said tube a lot. But.. it’s a tube.
Ive noticed i just like repeating words a lot.
With the in-line fan, everyone says you are going to want to remove the internal fan. They will fight each other
Good point. The inline fan is way more powerful too. If anything, the built in fan is probably restricting. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC Monport and Omtech are basically the same machine. There are lots of videos on the Omtech about upgrades.
Do you have to use a 5200? I have the same machine but my water cooler is 3000,
@@mrsdizi1234 thats just what they sent me.

Thanks! Ill check into that. I have to work out some kinks with the connection issues.
“That coating on it” is mill scale. And that hole can cost you an additional $30.00 to $50.00 in some stores…. hillbilly!
Fancy "machine " 😂 you will have fun with that. Cheers 🍻
can this creature be dismantled into reduced weight parts and moved to basement and reassembled it?
I think omtech posted a video bot to long ago showing how to disassemble to get it through a door or into a tight space. Same unit so it should work with the Monport too.
