👍 we have one heart and two lungs, i.e. Beta 1 in heart, beta 2 in lungs. sympathetic system stimulates the heart and inhibits elsewhere. Heart has beta 1 receptors in greater quantity. blood vessels have alpha 1 receptors to perform vasoconstriction, and beta 2 for vasodilation.
I never thought that the concept that gave me a headache and worried me - I’ll be laughing SO hard while learning it! Thank you! So grateful for this, medicosis. 😁
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis Medicosis Quick question Does Beta 2 stimulate Insulin secretion ? And if it does , why ? Becuase parasympathetic as I am concerned is responsible for secretion of insluin .
@@MohammedHassan-dj8wy I'm late, but answering you helps me recall what I have learned. PSNS is responsible for secreting insulin during normal processes, but beta-2 receptors, which are part of your SNS (remember fight or flight) also release insulin in times of stress. From what I learned, glucose is released from muscle cells, so insulin is released to get glucose into the tissues that need to function well in times of stress.

the great Egyptian professor must be dr. Nagy 😊 I can still hear it in his voice till today Thank you for the video, it's to the point and perfectly illustrated 👍
wow this must be the reason why sport helps having less pain during your period: sport --> sympathetic nervous system activated --> beta2 in uterus stimulated --> dilation of uterus --> less pain ^^
You have the etymology of sympathetic wrong @ 5:35. It's not used as in "having sympathy for someone" it's used as in "multiple actions in sympathy". All those things, faster heart rate + constrictions + gut slows are happening in sympathy. Therefore, sympathetic nervous system. (also, what does having sympathy for someone have to do with fast heart rate? lol) Love this video though, just learning about this a little for fun. Too fast for me, but I just slow it down and it's very interesting even for someone without detailed medical knowledge.
