I'm a South African. It's my first time watching this channel. Thanks for the respect and love for Africa you preaching. I worked with a group of 40-50 Congolese for 3 years. We had a great relationship. I always think about those guys. One thing about Congolese, they take religion deeply with passion, love and respect. Mostly are Christians.
I'm South African and what I'd like to say is Congolese men and women have a special place in my heart. They one of the kindest and respectful Africans I've met.
Indeed, one of the habit I love in Senegal is eating together with the whole family with the same big silver plate. It is warm, delicious. You feel you belong and you feel you are loved❤
Yes Boss I Still Remember Rocky Street. THE Market Place i used to by my green vegetables. Piccadilly Conner we used to go drink and hang out. That's were i mate Brenda Fasi few years before she passed Great Memory Shuwa Shuwa. Viva Africa
I liked in yeoville as a white south African (I said white because no one was afraid to say black or white then to our brothers and sisters) in the mid '80's to mid '90's....what a wonderful experience as a 21 year old who moved out of joburg northern suburbs. I met an array if amazing people, partied 24/7, had consistent work, could afford my rent in one of the best blocks of flats called Cavendish court in Hunter street. What an amazing experience, I could walk home around the corner all hours of the day or night. People had this silent respect for each other and cultures and their space. It was just a given. A very special place of musos,poets,artists,academics,singles and new couples. In about'95 left. It became dirty, criminal and even though we danced in the streets after the release of Mandela,the place just became awful. I'm glad to see it still has a culture of its own.
Lived in Yeoville in ‘88 in an apartment block on the corner of Grafton and Raleigh. Awesome place back then. Would meet friends for lunch in Hillbrow and walk home afterwards. Even walked home late at night from Bella Napoli on more than one occasion.
I am a school boy who knows the area in early 80"s , yeoville was a higher end suburb . now looking at what I see it is a decayed society ,exactly like the Congo and where ever they come from .

Oh Zack -you revived many childhood memories. I remember Rockey Street when it still had trams and I used to walk up and down Cavendish Road to and from school, and used to swim at the Yeoville baths. We used to go to the Yeoville Cinema which was dirty and it was known as the BUG HOUSE. Then a bit later came the Piccadilly on the corner of Cavendish and Rockey. There were lots of immigrants and lots of Fish and Chips shops. My Greek grandfather built the Hillcrest Stores and shops on corner Becker and Raymond Street . Thank you for your super chats. néa
Of all African nationals ; brothers and sisters my first favourite people are Malawians, they are very humble and peaceful. Followed by Mozambicans, they also humble and hard workers, but all of you are my fellow Africans one nation, one heart,one love.

I grew up in Yeoville, it was a beautiful Jewish neighborhood with amazing schools. All that is gone now, replaced by squalor. it's quite painful to think that I cannot fully enjoy my homeland but this will change

There are Congolese guys that offer South Africans a tour in Youville, because, as they say, South Africans need a foreigner to be guaranteed safety in youville. They were on one of the radio stations.
It's that one thing majority of us don't appreciate. It feels so great being around fellow Africans elsewhere. It's in my bucket list too,to travel as much as I will be able to accross the motherland and let my kids explore this continent to the fullest instead of admiring places where every other person looks down on you just by being black.

I really want to know how did it end up this way, how did we allow foreigners feel proud and great that they are dominating an area in SA? city of johannesburg has to answer and we won't allow this anymore. those people there don't have a scarce skill, and if they want to continue with their businesses they must be highly taxed as we are. this is nonsense, it has to stop.

Strangely, when you're in your countries you adhere to your laws, eg cleanliness at your market places, paying rent, etc but in SA you are one of the biggest contributors to pollution and degradation of our places and you do it with no shame.
