    Elsa: Maria Lucia Heiberg Rosenberg - ‪@Lucmar9‬
    I swear, if they were not written by the same person, the Danish and Norwegian lyrics of this movie must be the result at least of a collaboration between the two countries: the result is way too fucking similar in too many passages of all songs.

      @owlshade I believe Norwegian is a weird mix because Norway has a past of being under both Swedish and danish reign. Danish and Norwegian are both pretty similar writing wise, as though Norwegians don't understand much of danish speaking wise.

      As much as I like her, I have to disagree. I honestly find her voice a little bit unfitting for the character itself. I think the best representation we have is Serena Autieri, the Italia VA, whom was criticised for her mature sounding voice. I don't agree. I think that was her win point, because I really think Elsa should sound more mature in other languages too, instead of sounding like a 16 yo

      Idina did awesome, but Maria is better at belting the long runs of songs. Idina struggled a bit on the "unknown" part of the chorus, as she chooses to pronounce it at three different levels and using three different vowels and techniques to keep it up high. Maria seems to purposefully make her voice break on the last "land", and I quite enjoy that 😁 Idina is an amazing singer, her Broadway is flawless, but this time around I've got to hand it to Maria, she perfected this version of Into the Unknown!

      @@malenejensen02 I am Danish as well.. And if translation theory has taught me anything, it is that there is no 'correct' translation of anything. A word-for-word (one-to-one) translation might not be the most accurate one in terms of relaying the right connotations and such. If the meaning is sucessfully transferred, then it is a proper translation. Moreover, adaptations of foreign words from Latin is pretty normal in Danish 😊

      C'était pareil pour moi: puisqu'elle a édulcoré et raffiné son façon de chanter [en particulier pendant les notes les plus hautes (Je me demande toujours si le superlatif est juste même ainsi 🤔)], maintenant j'arrive à récolter et puis à chérir sa voix vraie et palpable dans sa "rugosité".
      Malgré, en tous cas, elle s'est surpassé en "KOM NU FREEEM"

    How is ”ud i ukendt land” translated to “out into terra incognita”??? I’m Swedish and I know it means “out in unknown land” cause it’s basically almost the same as Swedish

    • @Kocisaurus
      @Kocisaurus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      "Terra incognita" is a latinism incorporated in the English language [www.wordreference.com/definition/terra%20incognita and many other online dictionaries].
      She deliberately chose that form instead of "an unknown land" because, given the fact that form is adverbial-like, it can explain the absence of the danish article more proficiently, as she highlighted that "unknown".
      Furthermore, it's a great way to give chance to the viewers to learn new terms!

    I think this is the best version of into the unknown because she nailed easily all the high notes. This song is very difficult to sing, even Idina struggle to sing it but the danish singer is perfect and it seems super easy for her so she is the best singer for this song.
