Home work needs to be permanently integrated or abandoned for the office.

Not going to work for most people unless you're a contractor or hourly paid employees. Most of us are on the 35-40 workweek however many of us works close to 45-50 hours weekly anyway. By working 4 days a week, we're technically working less hours (1 day off) from employer perspective. Remember companies tend to be short staffed enough that their employees are overworked, that's why most employees are exempted employees who often work 9-10 hours a day on 5 day schedule. Above may not apply to everyone but all the people I personally know of that makes salary above 100K belong to this category.

4 day work week will help to retain employees and prevent burnout. Humans are not designed to work in a capitalist economy. Humans are farmers.
