I think the real reason Netflix chose not to show these stories is to avoid being perceived as unsafe as they really are. They don't really take care of the people as they claim to do
They knew the footage of Renee would support the lawsuit filed by another cast member. That’s why they cut her. They didn’t care about making her relive it. They cared about providing public evidence of their lack of concern for the cast. Crazy.
It continues to baffle me how many people earnestly ask "well why don't they vet participants better and provide mental health support for everyone?" Producers deprive the participants of *sleep, food, and even WATER* while giving them plenty of alcohol. Yet people can't figure out why producers don't look into applicants better or provide therapeutic support...? "It's a feature, not a bug" and all of that.
@@OKBgoshI don’t think they deprive them for water, food and sleep let’s not make up stories. Izzy said in one podcast that they were giving them so much food there that he even put on weight. I don’t think he’d lie about this also because he’s very good friend with Reene
I don’t understand why Netflix doesn’t hire actual relationship counselors or therapists to help the couples thorough out the show. I think it would elevate the show one hundred percent. Like the show couples therapy… they can still do all the stuff they do, but at least have them go to one or two sessions and use some of that content to bring light into the relationship dynamics. If the show actually cared about the couples, they would put more supports in place.
It would be such an interesting part of the show. If during the part they are living together they had like a couples therapy once a week to work out their issues. I know 3 sessions wouldn't help that much but at least it could lay a more healthy foundation.
i was thinking this ! it seems that it happens pretty often, it should be required. they are setting the women up for disaster by having multiple options of unemployed men
... and also participants who are about to leave the city where it´s been taped -- and where supposedly the couples would live -- to work on a Master´s degree in California - as is the case of Milton and other participants of other seasons as well...
I love that you two validated Renee when said that "I guess it was my fault for not asking" when speaking about Carter hiding that he had a negative bank account balance. I was very pleased to see you immediately push back on that and support her.
Having already listened on Spotify, all I can say is how deeply horrifying her story is and how disgusted I am by the people working on the show this season. To know Carter was dangerous, to film him emotionally abusing her, to tell her to not have a gun anymore because of his instability and to still encourage her to give him a chance and pressure her to continue filming?? I have no doubt they erased her story as it brings up so many moral questions and lends credence to every accusation LIB is currently facing.
@@mamameg9916 well said. There needs to be a class action suit at this point. I dunno that I can in good conscience continue to support this show, given all the atrocities they seem to be committing and injury they're inflicting on cast members.
Im about to listen to the episode, but didnt she say she did go to the dress fitting? She did go to the altar with him and on that episode Lydia presents her just as a friend going with her to see her trying on dresses, so how would they know at that point she was not going to marry? If she also was there supposedly to try on a dress for her but they just didn air that part?
The fact that they were cut out of the storyline completely, speaks volumes. I wouldn’t have wanted to witness what Renee has described. But I would have wanted to see the other cast mates rally around her in support of her.
I think that once Chris Coelen and the big wig producers saw the footage and realized things were not resolved as soon as they started, they went - oh my God, what the hell happened? -- I´m hoping they fired those in charge of the situation when it happened and that they implement some safety precautions for future seasons. They cannot say anything to Renee or the public for fear of lawsuits...
Not only did Netflix hide and lie about unsafe filming settings, but there were multiple WITNESSES to domestic violence that did NOTHING for Renee?!?!? No one stood up and said anything for her, and no one is being held accountable for watching her get abused and doing N O T H I N G. This is disgusting. I am so done with this show. Drama is one thing, abuse is a whole other thing to try and profit off of. Renee is so brave for speaking up💜🦋
Her story is exactly why they didn’t show anything. If people saw his anger they would immediately ask why production allowed filming to go on. Production put her in harms way, then covered it up by editing her out of the show. I feel terrible Renee went through that. I’m glad she could tell her story here.
Production probably wanted to show Renee's story simply because it was "juicy" ...to see someone get abused? But given the way they also pushed another woman to stay in an abusive situation this season, their lawyers probably convinced them to cut Renee's footage to avoid boosting that lawsuit. Some dark, lonely corners of the internet might celebrate Carter as some kind of hero, but the majority of viewers would be able to recognize abuse when they saw it. Glad Renee stood up for herself and cut ties.
LIB was such a positive show in the beginning . I think that in the first two seasons the cast was for people who are looking for real love. Then they let in so many shadow people searching for fame and the whole point of the show was missing. Hope that if there is another season they will make a better cast, at least without jobless adults or people who are clearly not mental stable. Guess such a huge platform like Netflix can afford to hire good psychologists that can cast genuine people who are there for the right reasons.
I think they need to stop scouting people/recruiting from apps. Not that people who use dating apps are problematic or anything, but it seems to me the ones who are more serious about making a connection are people who take the time to apply.
I agree they need to have proof of having a job and be cleared by a therapist. Carter saying not having a job was his way to weed through essentially the gold diggers is hilarious because you aren’t a gold digger for wanting a man to have some kind of job or goal in life. Not everyone was asking for a rich man.
It seems to be they keep inviting people to participate instead of going through the applications of regular people. The producer of the show here in Brazil said that after the first season, their focus was on choosing people who actually applied. They have to send a video of them, their family, and their lives in general - like, describing who they are - then they need to fill out a questionnaire, and go through interviews with the psychologists and casting producers. She said they had a team of over 20 people doing that and that by now, they can tell right away who wants to really get married and who is just there for a freebie. Last season was somehow successful and two couples are still together...
They probably didn't want Sedition Hunters to ID them. 🤔🤪 (Sedition Hunters is a network of online volunteers who comb through photos and videos posted online from Jan 6 to help identify insurrectioners.)
Right! They didn’t want their shitty behavior filmed bc they’ve probably lived their entire lives blaming their shitty behavior on women and once it’s filmed and the entire internet is siding with the women they can’t escape themselves anymore.
@@MartaRC32 Nah, JP and Carter are adults who are responsible for their bad behavior. Production is responsible for their own decisions, as well, but that doesn't give anyone carte blanche to bully or abuse others.
I think these things *should* have been shown, with a huge disclaimer that it’s not a healthy dynamic. Heck if they are willing to show actual violence on the ultimatum they could have at least shown part of this to highlight how toxic it is, and validate everything that Renee went through. Now she’s essentially been left at the wayside to speculate on why they were cut out - how is that helpful for someone who was already questioning themselves?!
What bothers me too is that any girl who dates Carter now might not know his true colors. The footage could have exposed him for who he is and prevented someone from getting hurt. Without it now it’s just Renee’s word against Carter, so he can potentially manipulate the situation to attempt to make himself look better. 100% I believe Renee..unfortunately not everyone will.
I don't necessarily agree with the fact that they should have kept some footage in since that would be making her trauma and abuse entertainment for others, even with a disclaimer you never know how the audience will react
@ciriiluu yeah that’s true, I wouldn’t want that either. I guess from my perspective it feels like the incentive for pulling it from the show seems less about protecting Renee and more as a way for production to cover their a*s with the pending lawsuit. I got the impression too that she wanted her story to be told. I think if they did air it I would hope too it would be in a way that isn’t too triggering. Maybe it is best that it was pulled though, it would have been worse if they aired it and tried to edit it to make Renee look like an unstable crazy girlfriend or something.
@@ciriiluu fair point! I also felt like cutting them completely in the way that they did felt more like protecting themselves (and him) more than Renee, especially since from what she said they were aware of what was going on while it was happening and made her keep filming. After they made her film all of that, to not include any of it, and re-edit things to twist the truth feels really icky to me. Perhaps they could have shown their pod bits but nothing more. Idk it’s a tough one for sure.
She seems so sweet and open and sincere. What an awful experience to have to go through, and still totally have enough resilience to get married a year later. I wish her alll the best ❤
Im almost positive their story was not followed to mitigate liability due to the ensuing lawsuit. I wish Renée would’ve gotten the chance to show her story after everything she went through. The producers acknowledging this is not a person to have guns around should’ve been their wake up call to remove you from an abusive situation. I’m sorry that you went through this Renee. You dealt with someone unstable and deserved better, blessings to your matrimony.
IMO they should have removed HIM from the show, not her. Then if she wanted to stay they could have still done a one sided storyline of her going to altar with him not showing up, or bring back another cast member back for a date with her.
the sad part is she was being called shady because she is now married to someone else. I hope Netflix knows to release all episodes together to give full context and not let uninformed people speculate and attack.@@AmberrLynn13
I completely agree with your statement, I meant remove her from the situation. Not have these 2 continue filming unless she chose to. I should've clarified. But yes, I was concerned for her even rejecting this man at the altar.@@reflectsonlife
Exactly. It was escalating to physical abuse and not long before it would have gone there. Also, with everything she went through, her story should have been shown. As long as she’s willing and wanting to be validated. It also (and I’m speaking from someone who was abused as a child and then in relationships as an adult and it has taken me a very long time to learn possible red flags) has the potential to reach others who may be going through it or prevent people from going through it by seeing how it can progress and how it never starts out that way but is a slow build up. Trauma bonding is real ya’all. Renee is so brave, beautiful and strong. She seems both fun but realistic with a kind heart and good head on her shoulders. I wish her healing, happiness and may what she’s been through come back in ways of kindness and nurturing. Also, don’t get me started on production and the crews - I don’t care if you don’t have dv training, when your getting treated like that and you can’t take it and walk off, for the love of jeezus don’t leave the other partner/person in there alone to defend herself. Send someone in to talk to her and bring her somewhere safe. There is no amount of tv drama and editing to compromise someone’s safety and well being. This is not within the norm of a typical relationship spat. Aaaaargh. Makes me so mad when they say ‘stay strong and give him another chance’ when literally that next chance could mean your life. Bloody azzhats. Anyway - rant over - be well Renee - be proud, you did great and by coming forward guaranteed you are helping others. ❤
Girls, this was an incredible interview. I could see it being submitted as evidence in a court case against the production company. WELL DONE. Renee seems lovely. Renee, you might want to take out a restraining order against Carter just in case.
As soon as I heard Carter refer to JP as the real Captain America I thought Oouph, he's going to be in for a surprise once he finds out how JP talks to women. Looking back on that after hearing how Carter also treats people... like attracts like, no wonder Carter thought highly of JP and didn't see any red flags.
I LOVE when they shook their head and were like oh hell no, thats not on you. YES👏🏼 DO NOT LET HIM OR PRODUCTION GASLIGHT HER INTO THIS BEING HER FAULT
I think this shows that reality TV participants really do need a union. Renee was coerced to stay in a dangerous situation and they're lucky nothing worse happened. We can't expect these companies to do the right thing. The cast members need protection from production.
I would’ve liked for production to work with Renee to tell her story in a way that she was willing/ready to. Instead of focusing on protecting themselves when they couldn’t even protect their cast, they should’ve worked with Renee to tell her story.
This show risked losing their audience big time this season, and the more things come out, the more I feel Netflix and Kinetic need to address everything that occurred or they lose what remaining credibility and good faith that they had. They failed the contestants and audience in so many ways. I'm continuing to listen so take this with a grain of salt, but I'm surprised you guys didn't address the comments on your last podcast.
What in the hobosexual, trailer trash casting happened in Houston? And Netflix had the nerve to poke fun at Miriam for having ambition and having a business. While the 2 of the guys didn't have jobs. SMH!
I think these shows need to stop casting loser dudes but the commitments the show requires probably isn’t possible for most people who have good careers. Maybe they need to change the filming format.
😅 love the way you put that! 100% agree - really bad taste to dig on Miriam - she should be applauded not dragged and excuse me … the dudes…yeah what you said lol
@AlishaOutridge I would agree with you if women with quality careers were not being casted. It is an insult to the women to try and pair them up with these losers.
Thank you guys for doing this interview. It was definitely the missing link in the reunion as well as Uche. They shouldn’t sweep this under the rug because Renee and Carter actually made it to the wedding day! I get the people who get engaged and don’t get followed, but this was crazy to edit a couple out of the show. There was a rumor that Carter had threatened to end his life, which was a reason they didn’t show their relationship, but I think now that they didn’t want to have lawsuits for sexual abuse and emotional abuse shown too
Yeah, he definitely was walking red flag. But the anger about the shower is justified because what the hell. It's too many instances of Production being pushy and not respecting people's boundaries
I’m so happy she avoided staying in an abusive relationship with a narcissist. He sounds like the very same person my ex was. I felt like she was talking about him. Good on you Renee.
This is absolutely despicable. They cut the story because they new it would be proof of production not protecting people. Definitely has something to do with the lawsuit I'm sure
If someone doesn’t have a job at that age, then she shouldn’t have gone through with that relationship at all. Sorry to hear about her ordeal my goodness. Milton was the only catch in season 5, all those other guys were just a train wreck. No jobs, bad credit, paper plates, wearing USA flag outfits, narcissist condescending. .Milton two master’s degrees at age 24 . Milton emotional intelligence. .Milton loving and supporting Lydia. . Milton in a 6 figure job at 24 . Milton kind and super smart . Milton has 401 k plan in place . Milton now perusing an MBA and is in a managerial position . Milton waiting to start his PHD . Milton gave Lydia a second wedding in Porto Rico & his parents funded part of the wedding. Then some say, he had no business being on the show. Really 😂 Lydia won❤
Milton has a fan 😅He seems like a decent fellow but 24 is just too young to get married for most people and I don’t think Lydia is his soulmate but they seem to be doing OK. How do we know?
And then ended up with a woman incapable of personal accountability. Its a very uninspiring couple. Would have liked to see him with either Taylor or Aaliyah.
Damn so someone was more broke than Izzy on this season 😮😬🤐 But on the real Renee I'm glad you got out of that toxic unsafe environment. You deserve it all Girl & I hope you find some who truly appreciates you.
Hearing about Tran’s experience and Renee’s experience with Carter was harrowing. I can’t imagine how trapped Tran felt. And I can’t imagine how terrible it felt to be forced to continue on with someone like a Carter. Something is telling me that this is going to be one of the last seasons of this show. Because this show is definitely in legal hot water if anything… for simple negligence. Thank you Renee for speaking on your experience and giving voice to Tran’s.
There's no way Natalie wasn't talking about Shane (and honestly Kinetic is scared to show these things- because they dont care about safety, just good tv [IMO]). I would have appreciated seeing Renee's story to help shine a light on domestic violence, the cycle of abuse, how to leave, etc. But the other lady was sexually assaulted and showing Renee's story would have shown how little Kinetic vets these contestants (a smaller/funnier example is Izzy's credit score).
@MartaRC32 I've seen him swear his actions were due to an extreme ADHD diagnosis but when he said he spent $2000/month on door dash I thought I bet that's code for drugs
We need to openly start talking about how it’s not fair for LIB to be showing these shows a year after filming. It really affects people especially that they would most likely be trying to move on. It affects them and their current relationships. I can this affecting their mental health as well.
This entire episode is nonstop! I had to pause so many times to digest what I was hearing. And girl I knew it!! I knew it when he said that thing about JP and I think that's the only line of his they kept in there bc it was enough to paint a picture for the audience
YES, ladies, stand UP, stand ALL the way UP, and speak ALL the way OUT, LOUDLY!!! Abuse of any kind is unacceptable, inexcusable, and especially when exploited for the purpose of perpetuating drama on, "reality," television holds NO place in the world. More power to you all. Good job, Renee, and to ALL women in the process of standing UP, speaking OUT, and taking ACTION, even if it needs to be silent action initially. Your courage in exposing this ugliness to the world shall be worth it, in ways you may never witness, but KNOW that your voice is already reverberating across the world, empowering women everywhere, and already blessing you a millionfold. I MUA from Kauai!!!
Can y’all interview Aaliyah please! She talked about trying to leave two times prior she left and they didn’t let. they do not care about people’s well being
What in the actual fu*k??? Production LITERALLY watched and FILMED you being abused. Not only did they not intervene, they also REPEATEDLY put you in harm’s ways and told you not to carry your protection. Like I’m so confused how someone is too unstable to be around a weapon but it’s okay for you to continuously film with him. I’m so so sorry that not only did Carter emotionally and psychologically abuse you, production did as well. YOU SHOULD SUE!
Chris Coelen - the creator and producer of the show - said that the crew is not allowed to interfere with the interactions of the participants of the show. But I think that when he stipulated that rule, he had no idea that things could get so ugly. He mentioned in an interview that there are thousands of things going on at the same time when they are taping the show and that he can´t be everywhere. Well, obviously this was the case, as Chris is a veteran in reality shows and he knows for a fact that what happened to Renee is not good for her or for the business itself. I´m hoping he will make sure this never happens again...
@@MartaRC32that is such bs. The production team admittedly manipulates situations such as pushing them to disrobe and shower together. So they definitely don’t stay out of interactions - they actively create them. Furthermore, the cast is no different than an employee. As such, US and state harassment and assault laws would apply. So the show runners have legal reason to protect their “employees”. If I were her, I’d sue for sure. They not only didn’t protect her, but they likely perpetrated dangerous situations. I’m done with this show. Disgusting behavior and treatment of people for money. Every person working on that show should be forced to go through ethics and harassment training. And a certified counselor should be present during filming. This shite is insane.
@@MartaRC32 I hope you're right! He needs to fire 95% of this production team and hire dignified, respectable psychologists and academics to cultivate this show into something honorable. Couples therapy ongoing for everyone throughout the whole process. Immediate intervention any abuse. It's possible but needs a lot of work and proper oversight. They need to hire me to be the set grandma
Very thankful for the editing bcs I’m not a fan of long videos, glad you guys pointed out the most important topics! Would have been interesting that Netflix showed what a real narcissist in a relationship looks like and how hard woman try to keep it cool feeling unsafe and without support from cast members the knew that she was right, sad!
“He loved animals because he’s a fisherman”. LOL. Usually you don’t stab the face of someone you love, rip them out of their natural habitat, and let them suffocate to death, so you can eat their body later.
This is a horrific story. I wonder what the role of alcohol and extreme intoxication was in their dynamic. And how much the show and its producers ply people who have these issues. Unfortunately, a lot of trauma bonds and toxicity start with two substance use disorders mingling. I hope she is safe now and gets help. I hope the platform and production company involved learn from the notoriety their names are now generating.
Renee, I am so incredibly sorry for everything you had to live through with that savage, nobody deserves that and I’m glad you’re well and in a better place today. The day Carter said JP is the type of guy he’ll want his daughter to marry, I automatically knew what sort of person he is so I’m not shocked by any of his disgusting actions, I’m shocked that production did not just stand by and let this happen, they kept on encouraging and insisting that she continues to film with that disgusting trifling man who she did not feel safe with and not once did they think to step in!! Best believe that they’ll loose a large percentage of the viewing audience if they keep on acting without scruples. NETFLIX AND KINETIC are DISGUSTING for allowing all this atrocious things go on!
So just came across your channel. I am so proud of what you guys are doing and letting everyone tell their story and who better than you. Would love to see you branch out to other reality shows since the 5th season is over.
You guys are phenomenal podcast hosts, reassuring your guests and leaving space for them to talk while also prompting good conversation. Amazing job, thank you for giving Renee a platform to tell her story
My ex gaslit me and made me feel like it was my fault that he cheated on me. This guy pulled the same stuff my ex did and I’m so happy she didn’t marry him! I hope he gets some serious help and all women should avoid him
And it's sucks, because we would've loved to witness some of Renee's journey. She was funny and warm during the pods, yet they forced us to follow psychological abusers and narcissists....
I think they cut her story because it makes the show look bad. It doesn’t show the fairy tale side but the actual danger of putting someone in the pods that they had not researched enough and who is verbally abusive. I’m sure it wouldn’t have been hard to talk to his friends and family and find out he has a dangerous temper and degrades those around him. I’m glad she went with her gut and put boundaries around herself and didn’t make excuses for the red flags. I also wonder if his fights with production may have made their identities known if they would’ve included their story on the show so they wanted to keep the production crew anonymous.
I had heard some "stuff" went on with them, but OMG im SO shocked by this! This is FUBB! Thank you for Rene for being so brave and to you ladies for covering this important story and getting this out there!
Funny. If it was truly a "timing issue" then Renee wouldn't be shown as many times as she did while in the women's quarters during the Pods. I kept awaiting her story, her engagement... or simply her "Clift hanger" after being recorded so much. It all makes sense now and I feel terrible that Renee went through this, totally not fair especially when she was in the mindset of getting married and ended with her story being cut, being unsafe, disrespected and a traumatizing experience. Keep it up Renee!! I loved your Vibe on the show!!
Season 5 men were all trash! So sorry you had to go through that, Renee. There were absolutely no decent men in that season. It should be a horror movie called "Terror in the Pods."
Love you girls. Keep speaking your truth. Fear is used to control people too much in this world, we have to stand for what is right. Integrity is forever.
After the SA allegations and what happened with Renee I simply don’t think I can continue watching LIB in good conscious. We all knew it was trash before but trash tv should not come at the cost of others well-being … literally just so messed up
It’s also why I didn’t understand the vitriol behind Lydia n Aaliyah. From the reunion, when Nick asked Aaliyah straight up about production playing a part in the situation n she looked scared to answer. Casting should have vetted ppl (finances, mental health, criminal past) n a therapist should’ve present in the pre-screening as well. The only thing they should have to worry about is if their personalities mesh, how do you handle disagreements etc
Omg!! You guys were not kidding about tea! That’s a nightmare, I am so sorry you and anyone went though this!! I wish love is blind would show it and reflect on domestic violence!!
The producers should have intervened with Renee and Carter and not let it get to the altar. Why did they leave her in a relationship where she felt unsafe and make her keep filming? They weren't concerned about Renee while she was filming but suddenly cared when it was going to air because they didn't want to look bad to the public. These producers this season did not do their jobs at all.
That's just it: they absolutely *did* do their jobs. Their jobs are deeply unethical as they put people in emotional and even physical danger for the most drama they can possibly record.
Im like mind blown by how much this poor woman put up with like I would have demanded to leave as soon as got there 😭 poor girl she seems so sweet and genuine.
After hearing Renee's story, I think the reason they cut them out is likely because it is a very bad look for the show especially considering the ongoing lawsuit where the producer has to defend that they care for the cast and obviously it is not if her story is shown.
@28:45 Deepti's headshake is me everytime Renee mentions how he flipped out on somebody cause he got upset 😄 There are studies that show men who aren't financially well off are more emotional and abusive
Thanks for the interview guys! Just a sidenote, I realise it is tricky with sponsors, but please do look into better help, they seem dodgy AF. Using phycotherapy clients data in unlawful ways and undermining the whole industry but not paying therapists a living wage. Also not doing enough of a job selecting their therapists. Thank you!
Agree on everything you said except for the therapist, they are selecting real therapists now, the problem is that they dont pay them enough but as far as selecting the therapist they are doing that in the correct way now
@@ms.shineray they are selecting real therapist now is such an insane sentence. 😂 there’s still super sus therapists on the app. Also, you’re neglecting the fact they *just finished a class action lawsuit a few months ago…*
@@MiLlamoName precisely I am speaking about the now and you are speaking about few months ago, I would check your semantics if I were you, there are also super suspicious therapists practicing in real life but I guess you don’t care as long as they aren’t on the bh app
In my humble opinion, to go through therapy, you need to go in person and on-site with a professional who is highly recommended by people you know and-or trust. For certain things, online is a big no-no to me - like, actually a huge no-no, as it is for this case here...
What was the point of putting her in danger to not even show the filming?!? TF They don’t want her to have her gun around him in fear of what HE may do yet they keep filming their relationship? Only to not air it ?!? What a slap in the face! She could’ve moved on with her life way sooner instead of being in that mess
This is ridiculous, they need some accountability for Carters actions. The fact they made Renee continue filming when he was acting this way towards her and others and the fact they didn’t show it is also ridiculous. The world needs to see the type of person he was especially making her go through it all for what?! They’re trying to cover themselves for sure.
The fact that they would tell her not to have a gun around, that should mean THEY STOP FILMING IMMEDIATELY!!! 😡😤🤬 had something happened, every executive should be jailed!
I’m so glad I found this channel. Deepti and Natalie asking all the pertinent questions…with follow-ups. With all the toxicities, I see why ppl can’t fall in love on this show. Dang, Netflix!
This is the first time ive seen you two have a show !! Im so happy. I love you two. Sounds weird, but time to time i think about both your stories. I think of how you felt leaving your partners ( that werent the best guys) and you two have beautiful souls and it shines through ! So happy you connected through this. You guys have the platform to do this, to really push things forward and get those interviews !
Even though production tried to remove their story people still picked up on the distance between Renee and Carter at the bbq that had no bbq anywhere that we could see. Makes sense now! I think Renee is so beautiful and dope! I’m officially not watching this show anymore! This is disgusting!
Money is an evil tool…. Production proved that. Y’all made her go through all of that just to not show it. FIRE THAT WHOLE TEAM NOOOOW. Tf they think that shit is … boot camp!?
The producers shouldn't have casted someone who is unemployed or in between jobs. Their priorities aren't I'm the right place. Also, if a cast member is ever aggressive, remove them from the social experiment. Renee, Aaliyah, and Taylor, and the victim this season were cheated on a good experience. I am glad I decided not to apply to this show last yr. This is embarrassing 😮 and disgraceful.
Why are they not checking on the backgrounds of these people better? And by "people" I mean guys. Because a lot of them seemed to really not have their s*** together at all.
She went through all this and they didn't protect her, they required her to continue filming only to edit it out and protect their image and allowing this toxicity to continue. They should have just said we will not film unless the behavior was changed. They tried to pressure her into a shower scene all for filming for entertainment, asked her to get rid of her guns and put herself in harms way. She should sue as well. The fact that they edited two story lines and asked these women to continue to film only to cut the storyline.
As someone who comes from a family who were homeless when I was very young, I can understand not having a credit card, bad credit, and a negative bank account if you're struggling to get out of poverty. I went through that when I cut off abusive family, worked my way through college, and struggled to learn how to handle money without having a role model or a clue. I don't know this guy's life, but I've never dined and dashed or planned vacations when I couldn't afford lunch. The real problems are his drinking patterns, quick anger, verbal abuse and domineering behavior. Production should not have forced you to stay in a scary and verbally abusive situation.
The fact that Uche, Carter, and JP are all buddy buddy speaks volumes
Yup, 3 mentally unstable and dangerous people. They all have personality disorders at the very least. Scary.
Birds of a feather flock together !!
All red flags 🚩
Just saw a pic of JP going IG official with new gf. She’s holding this HUGE can of Michelob. Is ANYONE surprised? 😂
I think the real reason Netflix chose not to show these stories is to avoid being perceived as unsafe as they really are. They don't really take care of the people as they claim to do
i agree, if the production team is the same as the ultimatum, then yeah, they do not protect their cast members
Right!!!
Pressuring someone to stay in an abusive relationship for content is crazy!

@@OKBgoshI don’t think they deprive them for water, food and sleep let’s not make up stories. Izzy said in one podcast that they were giving them so much food there that he even put on weight. I don’t think he’d lie about this also because he’s very good friend with Reene
@@iuliagligor4814 maybe look into this more and you'll know I'm not "making up stories" 🙄
Yeah, they do that on Married at First Sight. They should do that in this situation because they only talk for a few days prior to engagement.
They have a therapist on site
@@pinkyaliyaclearly a shitty one. They probably got their degree in a lottery
It would be such an interesting part of the show. If during the part they are living together they had like a couples therapy once a week to work out their issues.
I know 3 sessions wouldn't help that much but at least it could lay a more healthy foundation.
Agree
It’s crazy to me that production would even cast someone on a show about marriage who is actively unemployed.
i was thinking this ! it seems that it happens pretty often, it should be required. they are setting the women up for disaster by having multiple options of unemployed men
THIIIS!!! I’ve said it once & I’ll say it again…but the ENTIIIRE CASTING DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO REPLACED !!
Your comment is classist and disgusting.
... and also participants who are about to leave the city where it´s been taped -- and where supposedly the couples would live -- to work on a Master´s degree in California - as is the case of Milton and other participants of other seasons as well...
Exactly 💯
I love that you two validated Renee when said that "I guess it was my fault for not asking" when speaking about Carter hiding that he had a negative bank account balance. I was very pleased to see you immediately push back on that and support her.
Same ❤
Let’s have Aaliyah next 🙌🏻 she deserves justice after that reunion
She did an interview on Jessie Woo's channel
@@nichellejolly-ogiste2721I think that was Miriam. Aaliyah did an interview with Cameron Hamilton
@@thehibernatingturtle4016she interviewed both ladies. The Aaliyah interview came out a few days ago.
She needs to sue.
@@mamameg9916 well said. There needs to be a class action suit at this point. I dunno that I can in good conscience continue to support this show, given all the atrocities they seem to be committing and injury they're inflicting on cast members.
@@ayeeshahm9078same! I thoight it was entertaining but it doesmt feel like a good thing to give my energy to
Let´s hope the producer who was on site with Renee and Carter has been fired and will no longer work in reality shows..
Now it all makes sense when Carter said - “if I had a daughter I’d want her to be with a guy like JP.”
They are both the same!!! Wow!
Renee seems so sweet, I'm glad you guys spoke with her!
Yes, I second this. Totally appreciate you ladies for having her on and allowing her a safe space to tell this incredibly crazy story.
I loved her in all the clips they did show of her on the girl's side
Jobless men but Miriam was painted as shady and Stacey shallow i hate misogyny
Right?! Like the women were the problem? The men were UNHINGED
Doesn't speak well of the Houston male dating pool!
Right?! Good point!
people are not used to see women thriving over men
thank u!! they really tried to paint stacy as materialistic cause she didnt want struggle love
I feel like the editors kept in that shot of Carter praising JP specifically to let us know what kind of person he is.
Lmaooo yes
As we should! They should have never allowed this to go on as long as it did. It’s sad.
The crew was also at risk - the camerapeople and producers who do these shows are usually very young, they probably were scared to death as well...
I doubt it. Everyone was perfectly happy to watch Matt scream at Colleen, and people are still trying to claim he isn't abusive.
Season 4 gave me newfound hope bc I loved Tiffany and Brett and Zach and Bliss. But idk dude.
@@vanessahobbes3072yessssss! Exactly this
I agree they need to have proof of having a job and be cleared by a therapist.
It’s interesting that Carter and JP were so buddy buddy and both of them felt super stressed about “filming” the show
They probably didn't want Sedition Hunters to ID them. 🤔🤪
(Sedition Hunters is a network of online volunteers who comb through photos and videos posted online from Jan 6 to help identify insurrectioners.)
it´s not their fault, but the casting producers´ fault --- bad casting, bad participants, and bad results...
Oh man the Ultimatum. I still say Ray and Zay, and Ray and Shanique were borderline violent when it came to Zay's outbursts
Well, she is a veterinarian. I´ve never seen a vet who was not sweet and adorable, just saying ;-)
@@MartaRC32 guess you missed the Shake season 😂
Im almost positive their story was not followed to mitigate liability due to the ensuing lawsuit. I wish Renée would’ve gotten the chance to show her story after everything she went through.
The producers acknowledging this is not a person to have guns around should’ve been their wake up call to remove you from an abusive situation.
I’m sorry that you went through this Renee. You dealt with someone unstable and deserved better, blessings to your matrimony.
Exactly nailed it
IMO they should have removed HIM from the show, not her.
Unfortunately, a restraining order is just a piece of paper. She's armed in an open-carry state. She's doing the right thing.
Cameron and Lauren are probably going - honey, is this the same show we met a few years back???
@@MartaRC32right?!!! They were two of a kind👌🏼
And Uche's friends with JP too. ☠️
I gotta say Milton keeps coming out on top. Seems like a stand up guy all around
Except the fact that he tried to invalidate Aaliyah’s feelings ….it wasn’t aired so you probably aren’t aware
I can't believe that Nick and Vanessa would want to be associated with this show any more. This story is beyond.
SMH!
Lowkey it's because Miriam is african
They've done the same on MAFS, guys with no income, no living from savings/ residuals.
Wait…. They push them to film the shower scene? That’s so sketchy!
I thought so too, I was shocked
I feel like this man's abusive behavior was also evidence that the show does not protect the cast members, and it validates the current lawsuit
I had to pause this video so many times I was in so much shock. The LIB production team should be ashamed of themselves
My thought exactly !!
Exactly!!!!
I think Shane had a drug problem, maybe a prescription drug, but he was on something, scary...

I MUA from Kauai!!!
👏👏👏

And fish eaters who pay for this to happen will like this comment 😳
they should release this footage to educate people about abuse - so sad :(
This is a horrific story.
I almost never want to watch this show again. If they don't get it together, something tragic is going to happen!

Just flabbergasted! Wishing her all the best & blessings ahead.
Except for Milton! He was great & mature.
Eh, still don’t like Milton. Something off there. But also only better compared to the lowest dregs of society.
So important to ask the deep/ important questions in the pods. Hopefully the person is honest.
Love you girls. Keep speaking your truth. Fear is used to control people too much in this world, we have to stand for what is right. Integrity is forever.
After the SA allegations and what happened with Renee I simply don’t think I can continue watching LIB in good conscious. We all knew it was trash before but trash tv should not come at the cost of others well-being … literally just so messed up
Same here. I will not be watching the next season.
I LOVE Natalie's voice!
Everything the girls experienced this season feels illegal.
Thank you!
Just commented the same! These influencers do not do their research or just don’t truly care. Sad
I’m happy to hear your story. That was scary and wrong you were subjected to that. Very happy you are ok and moved on.
Thank you all for exposing what they tried to hide.
GREAT PODCAST GIRLS I LOVE YOU BOTH!!❤❤ My hesrt goes out to Renee. Im glad she is safe and away from that man!!
Rene seems like such a sweetheart I’m so sorry that happened to her 😢😢😢 I hope she gets her big break!
12:09 she’s 33?? Omg. She looks so young and pretty. I hope she finds so,some who treats her well someday
so they forced her to get filmed being emotionally abused and then didnt even show it like thats so unfair to her
Even though production tried to remove their story people still picked up on the distance between Renee and Carter at the bbq that had no bbq anywhere that we could see.
Thnx so much for telling your story!!
It was a good thing that Renee's story wasn't show because it was quite triggering. So sad that she had to go through that.
I’m so glad to hear Renee’s story but she seemed to be cut off a lot while talking….
