    Just picked up the VM-80s last week and holy shit the bass is next level! These are some of the monitors with the lowest frequency response I've come across. Amazing speakers

      @sonyx5332 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey, would you recommend them for everyday use or weekends use for listening to music even if I'm not a DJ or producer?

    • @foundviper11
      @foundviper11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sonyx5332 You can easily use these for everyday use. I have them set up in my office room in my house and I'll turn these on and play my Spotify playlists while I work. They also get extremely loud if you want to use them for house parties. I chose these speakers because I don't really produce music so I didn't need monitors with a flat response. These have that option to give flat sound as well as switching them to club bass for more listening enjoyment. Great all around.

      @@foundviper11 Thank you for taking your time to reply and help out with my question. I will gladly get two of them for the living room. I do wonder if I need a sub-woofer for them or not though. Hopefully they're good like that.

    • @foundviper11
      @foundviper11 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sonyx5332 Yeah for sure. I got these specifically because I wasn't trying to get a separate subwoofer. I can confidently say you don't need a sub since they give off some serious wobbles even at mid volume

    I’m looking to buy some speakers for home use- practicing by myself as well as small gatherings with some mates (5 to 10 people max). I know you said these aren’t recommended for parties but as I’m on a bit of a budget I was wondering if you’d recommend me getting a pair of these, or maybe just 1 vm70? Thanks and also great review!

    Hi Phil, great review! I am thinking of getting a pair of these. I was going to get some KRKs (they look far nicer) but I keep reading comments about a constant hiss. I don't like the sound of that. People say it is irritating. I have therefore moved towards getting a pair of these.

      Depends upon the size of your room.

  • @TastySanchez
    @TastySanchez 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the review - You mention these shouldn't be used for parties. Is there a specific reason why not?
    I mean it obviously isn't a PA speaker but the tweeter seems to have reasonably good dispersion and they go pretty loud with solid bass for the size and price. I'm sure two of the VM-70's or VM-80's could happily fill a small to regular living room with 10 people for a casual party?

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No protective grilles, designed for near-field use not to fill a room, abuse by DJs trying to get everything as loud as possible is a legendary cause of non-PA speaker damage.

    Hello, Digital DJ tips. I love your work, been following you for a couple of years now, and first I wanted to say a big Thank You for all your unique and professional style of work.
    I'm looking to start my DJ journey soon with your complete course so I'm looking to buy my gear now. I have a very general and beginner question that i need help with.
    I chose the Tracktor s4 mk3 for my controller and Pioneer dj vm-80 speakers to start with. What i can't figure exactly out is regarding the RCA cables going from the controller to the speaker.
    I got a little bit confused.
    I see on the back of every Pioneer dj vm-80 that there is only a single RCA cable exit. On the traktor controller s4 mk3 all exits are double L and R.
    I saw your review on the DJ TechTools Chroma Cables Audio 2.0: RCA to RCA and want to buy them but they got only have double L and R RCA cables.
    So the question is if i buy the double exit cables from them:
    First - Do plug the rca cables in the Main sound Exit or Deck A and B?
    Secound - Do I use only one of the sides L For the left pioneer speaker and one R for the right pioneer speaker?
    Or do i need to find single RCA cables from another company and which one can you recommend?
    I hope that i explained my questions good enough.
    Thank you in advance for the help.
    Keep been great.

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You connect the left RCA to the left speaker and the right RCA to the right speaker. We actually use DJ Tech Tools cables here, and just pull them apart to run one to each speaker, or you could buy single cables. Both will work.

    • @digitaldjtips
      @digitaldjtips  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you shouldn't use near-field monitor speakers for parties, they're not designed for that and you'll likely damage them. For 50 people at a guide of 5W per person indoors, you need a PA with 750W RMS output. This kind of thing: www.ld-systems.com/en/series/dave-8-series/
