    I'm agree with you ! If people are not enough cautious (essentially with kids), these elevators may provoke injuries. However, in this country, vandalism is highly less known than in France.

      THIS ELEVATOR NEEDS A FALSE INCOMPLETE MODERNISATION
      THIS ELEVATOR SHOULD BEEN MODERNISED BY SHINDLER

    I adore beautiful old elevators like these. We used to have beautiful elevators like this in the US but they have nearly all been replaced with ugly modern boxes with sliding, solid doors without any aesthetic value whatsoever. I hope they keep these just as they are. They can only be "dangerous" if people act stupidly.

    In which area of Lisbon is this building located? Household?

    @fabienpitorre Yes. Our government alone has introduced about 1500 new rules in ONE year.

    @fabienpitorre No one with common sense would do that. A child could jumpout of the window on the 5th floor, but you wouldn't call a building dangerous to stay in.
    Please, old elevators are awesome, not dangerous

    Looks like a fine old elevator. Scary to some people due to the open hoistway and scissor gates, but hardly dangerous (if you keep your hands inside where they belong)

    its only dangerous because thats what elevators looked like way back then... everything in portugal is wicked old... my great grandmothers house in portugal was made in 1790 and they say that that house is new

    what if you leave the elevator and dont close the doors. nobody could call it from another floor right??

  • @fabienpitorre
    @fabienpitorre  14 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would like only to emphasize the following point : at the present time, authorities believe that unmoderrnized elevators like this one are dangerous for all users. As for me, I like unmodernized elevators for their authenticity.

    We could still have these and get around the safety issue if they would also put a clear peice of sliding plexi glass on the interior of the screen.

    My friend, this elevators are not dangerous! They are VERY RELIABLE! They are a little slow but they are very old too. Must cities didn't knew what is an elevator and Lisbon already has many of them and ALL SAFE. NO elevator ACCIDENTS known till today, so the numbers talk from themselvs. And if you noticed inside, the manutention is done by Schindler that is a great elevator and ascensors name so DON'T CALL THIS DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT'S NOT!

    For example : a child who stretches an arm through the outer/inner door while the elevator runs...

  • @Bombiedude.
    @Bombiedude. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When were these installed because if these were installed in the 70s or something when automatic door elevators were more avalible then the owners of the building clearly didnt care about safety because someones arm can very easily get chopped off if they were unbalance by the moving cab and they fall and put their arm in between the gates

    This is not very dangerous and very reliable. If you compare this piece of beauty to the crappy generic elevators nowadays, you can see how much better the quality is of this elevator. A lot of new elevators are really flimsy nowadays.

    Very old elevators to riding that elevator really, probably are needs replaced with new elevator slide door for safety. But these are very dangerously, because is sometime could be affect problem the kids who being fall something like toys or stuff in the loop of elevator. Shouldn’t be plan rebuilding for different place of new resize elevator with automatic slide door is could be safe. But this is how could be dangerous to riding at it! This is while is very old elevator aren’t!!! Good to vid.

  • @danilopeterson3467
    @danilopeterson3467 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    NOT 'dangerous'!) The only so'called real 'danger' is the prospect of moderinsation! To take out these quaint old lifts for boring enclosed cabins with no view! I would LOVE to ride these lifts but of course I have no idea of just where these two lifts are at in Lisbon, and whether this building is publicly accessible. (no security key to get in).. I would imagine that this being Lisbon and not the corporatocracy with resulting paranoia of New Amerika, the chance of gaining public access is far easier. (I suppose that you can't divulge the address here unless of course you might have forgotten it yourself). Thanx!

  • @ROONTANG
    @ROONTANG 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    How is it dangerous? Once upon a time all elevators were like this. It's common sense not to shove your arm through the gate, in the same light that you wouldn't put a fork in a toaster or power outlet.
