Weirdly enough, chances are G.W. didn't have a "British" accent: Eastern American and Canadian accents are closer to what English speakers sounded like in the 1700s
the british accent we know today actually originated after the revolutionary war, basically just because some rich idiots decided they didn't want to talk the same as poor people, and poor people just ended up copying them anyway similar thing happened in italy and germany a few hundred years earlier and is why almost no one speaks latin correctly because they're using a "modern" italian pronunciations

charborg I went to the dentist today and had to get a tooth pulled out which I don't expect to be able to replace, and literally these past two weeks coming up to it I've just been hyping myself up that "charborg's got a tooth gap and I love that shit so I know mine will be okay" and today when I got home and actually looked at the tooth gap? yeah, it's sick. Lol this reminds me of playing DnD and the time we got our DM WAAAYYY too high to run a campaign. He was fine for about fifteen minutes, then you could tell he was struggling to follow his own train of thought, and upon starting combat a few minutes later, he admitted he had completely blanked on what his plan was for the encounter and that he couldn't focus for even thirty seconds anymore. We all laughed and called the session for the night... And the DM had to spend the night cause he was too high to drive lol Aside from my old buddy who is legit allergic to weed, I've never seen someone green out as hard as our DM that day, man looked like he was made of plastic by the time we left because he'd just sit there, perfectly still with a big cheesy grin on his face, staring at nothing for minutes on end. As an expert in the field (massive pothead for over a decade), it was very funny to me to watch.
Fun fact: Everyone has an "English accent" in America, because that used to be how British people talked until different cultures like France traveled over there, now they have that goofy accent. So yes, George Washington did have an English accent
