    Groundhogs teeth never stop growing so they have to chew on something such as wood to keep them wore down, otherwise they would keep growing, curl under and they wouldn't be able to eat.. So if you have any wood under your garage, you can bet they are chewing on it.. You should see the damage they did under my deck..

      I live in the middle of the city on a large 1 acre lot and caught probably 12-15 groundhogs in the past 2 years (4-5 months a year they hibernate).. They can and will cause allot of damage, which they have done.. Groundhogs have to chew on something because their teeth constentaly grow and if they don't chew on something their teeth will actually curl.. At my place they were chewing on the wood under my deck and they were making deep holes along side my house which cause water drainage problems along my foundation.. These critters are cute but you don't want them in your yard or near your house.

    • @Cuzntime
      @Cuzntime  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They love carrots but you have to make sure they can find them because they don't put out much scent.. You can always make a small bait trail leading to the trap.. Not sure about Cantalope though, never tried it.

    I have 2 captured that were under my porch of home then the guy who got them took them to some woods quite aways and let them go. He said very important things about them. He said they must be removed to prevent extensive burrowing under house and driveway. With all their burrowing they can cause weakness where ground used to be and cause sinking of porch, driveway etc. He said he has seen driveways sink because the burrowing undermined the the ground keeping driveway up and intact. Must remove them.

Went to get my shovel to bury the thing to my amazement the darn thing finishes playing dead got up and scurried off to the other neighbors yard. Critter looked unharmed it was like the pellets bounced off it.

The 130 lb. dog grabbed a hind leg and the 100 lb. dog grabbed the neck. The big dog pulled the hind leg off and got mostly skin. One good thing about woodchucks is they did their own graves.
