Thanks for the info. Already bought mine ❤
thank you sir!! very informative!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, it's cool!
This is a good video! I can feel you put a lot of effort in it. And I bought a 284010 which is similar with the 284131.
Cool, thanks!
I just bought one! interesting alteration for 2wd and drift
Yup, we can do many things with this micro RC
Thanka for the awesome video. I just received mine today. I already got a few hop-ups ready to install. Metal nuckles, servo horn, drift wheels, and metal ball differentials. Want to set up for drifting (or power sliding 😅)
Have fun bro!
Thanks brother
💪👀👊
No problem 👍
Amazing video keep up the good work and also I have a question, do they all have same speed?
more or less they have same speed (it also written on their box).
wltoys, and mini z's are the future of mini rc's at the moment. For those wanting a lil bit bigger u can go with LDRC and Haiboxing those r great.
I have LDRC and the swing arm always pops off☠️ kevin Talbot has same problem (if you know him)
10:36 Great video. I heard those mode buttons were for a 4 wheel steer crawler wltoys 1/24. Adjustable crap 4 wheel steer.
I used thermal paste to add a heat sink as well. Really helped.
Thanks for the info!
The excessive heat of the motor is solely caused by the sticky gears/differentials! That's why you should really disassemble them and clean them up.
I am talking specifically about the 284131 since I don't own the other tweo versions.
I know, I already mention about this in the video :)
It's a great car ! Love mine .!
And it's fun to modify too!
So many details ! thank you for this review , can we put a little fan above the motor ?
I never found a fan that small enough for 130 size motor. And I don't think it's necessary, heat sink is enough. Also, if you can find a small fan for 130 motor, the fan needs to rotate really fast or it won't effective to cooling down the motor
@@kuikmix yeah I agree with you i though about to put a fan like 3d print but airflow is not enough. I will order heat sink copper then you paste on the top or on the side motor ( i do not found any heat sink as you can fix with screw or fit the form of the type motor)
You can use thermal tape to attach the heat sink. Thermal tape is like double sided tape but it transfer heat better than normal double tape.
Which one of the three cars has the lowest "whining" ?
Anyone knows how i can plug and play with 284131 new stock electronics a gyro? The one i got has different pin connectors that it's physically impossible to connect... I dont want to cut and soldering servo wire and gyro to receiver wire to change from 284131 type to more standard type, help me please!!
bang, bedain 284131 v1 dan v2 gimana ya?
I just got one of these recently and the gears were definitely very sticky. I took it apart to apply grease and clean anything up but I noticed that the differential pinion gears were metal and for the most part there wasn't anything to sand besides a few suspension pieces. After putting it back together and breaking it the gearing by running it in my hand and then taking it back apart again and repeating the process I have it running very smoothly now. I bought this under the assumption that it had plastic differential pinion gears and have saw online that they have a tendency to strip out so hopefully it is pretty much indestructible now with the metal ones.
Thank's for the update!
what do you mean by breaking it by running on your hand?
@@azkanand5832 breaking in/ letting the parts wear in. I held the car in my hand and kept modulating the speed while feeling if the motor would get too hot. If you were to run one of these out of the box the motor gets extremely hot because of the load from the sticky drivetrain. I think the best way to break one of these RC cars in is to first just completely rebuild it and add plastic safe lithium grease and then let it run in your hand for a couple battery charges.
@@mashedpotatoes5323 yesss, the motor is very veryyy hot. This is my first RC, i thought this is normal 😄
ok so i just need to rebuild drivetrain, apply grease, breaking in, and repeat?
@@azkanand5832 yeah that's what worked for me, I have 3 different models and they all run very nicely now.
the purpose of the modes button is for the rc's that have a capability to crab and have a controlled differential
Thanks for the info. May I know which WL Toys car (that use same transmitter as 284131) that have a capability to crab and have a controlled differential?
@@kuikmix I believe the wltoys 24438b has that function, it is quite difficult to get anywhere but aliexpress now.
Whaaat? I don't get it, what is it? Can you please explain further dumb it down for me. Thanks.
@@flat-out Depending on terrain some differentials are better than others, with the 24438b you can change the differential mode, by pressing a button.
You didn’t talk on the tires. What are the other tires used for?
Drifting
I talk about tires at 00:50
Hard plastic tires: for drift
Rubber tires: not for drift (on road or off road)
Hi
Heat sinks must be in direct contact with the motor, they won't do their job the way you put them, actually, it could even get hotter
That's really the best you can do. It's in direct contact with the motor casing which acts like a heatsink for the armature anyways. Adding heatsinks like that definitely help, even if there is no airflow it will increase the thermal mass.
It's a thermal double tape, not normal double tape. But Yes, it's more effective if it's direct contact with the motor, which is impossible or at least hard to do because of placement. Don't ever think to solder it since it will damage the motor magnet (unless you remove the magnet first). So, it's better to use thermal tape than none.
Any idea why these cars come with a 3mm center driveshaft but all I see available online is a 2mm one?
Anyone else notice this?
I believe it's because they have been updated a few times and they slightly upgraded it. I just got my 284131 and it has metal differential pinion gears and I believe the 3mm driveshaft. Looking on AE I found a replacement motor with the same driveshaft attached already for about $8.
