does anyone know how i set the endpoint on this gyro? I got more steering to the left side then my right side
As far as I know, there is no EPA setting for this gyro (cmiiw). If the left and right not balance, you can re-adjust the servo horn position combine with steering trim. Usually after installing a gyro, I re-adjust the servo horn position. First, remove the horn, turn on electronic, make sure steering trim at center, then install the servo horn, then do adjustment if needed.

Do we need to buy more ball heads? or some of them are left out after the cutting process?
We don't need to buy more ball heads because we convert it to monoshock.

EXCELLENT VIDEOS, and clearly explained, very impressed. You should start covering LDRC stuff, there is a lot to do and to upgrade im sure you will do very well
Thanks for the suggestion! Actually, many people have already asked me to cover LDRC. Maybe I’ll do it when I have more time (and when I own one).
Hope to see this covered by you and please when ready get their latest model 1804 which is a lot better than what expected. Thank you

Hi, very usefull. Do you think wltoys will bring out a rwd drift car? Thanks 👍
I'm not sure, but if they pay attention to what customers want, I think they should make it.
@kuikmix would you recommend ldrc rwd drfts cars?
I've never had one, but many people are quite satisfied with the LDRC drift cars.
@kuikmix thanks, I'll maybe get one. God bless you :)
God bless you too bro 🙏
I hate this chassis because of the gearbox comes clogged and tight, I really wanted it to work, but the differentials comes very tight inside of the gearbox, it’s just a nightmare, I bought three of them, is it just me or it’s a common problem?
Yes, it's a common problem. I already mentioned it in my review video. My simple solution is just to use it, and after a while, it will get better. However, we can also do a few things to 'loosen' it faster. You can search Beaver's Hobby channel on TH-cam for tips fixing this issue and many other tips on WL Toys 1/28.

@kuikmix UMM THANKS FOR ANSWER BUT IM FROM INDIA 😍
The mystery number switch is for if you have 3 more receivers install them in 3 more RCs and thsy button will switch the chamnel or receiver you wanna control mate,!✌️
Wow. Thanks mate! But I think I prefer to change the TX / Transmitter than buying anothe WLToys Receiver 😅
HI IS THE REAR DIFFERENCIAL IS LOCK OR OPEN ?
Which model? For the 281431 is open diff. For the other models, watch the video, I already explain it,
@@kuikmix ok thanks for the answer, my question was about the 284131.
Thanks a lot for these videos they have been helping me build my k969 drift build and I look forward to the next video. I have a question though, what is the best affordable aftermarket receiver for a drift build on the k969/k989? Also how would you bind the receiver to the controller?
The term "affordable" has a rather broad meaning. For medium to high price ranges, I recommend the FlySky Noble series. For options under $100, I suggest getting a transmitter with a screen, such as the Radiolink RC4GS/RC6GS or other brands in the same price range that have a screen-these should be good enough. If you're looking for something cheaper and without a screen, you can go with DumboRC or similar. But if you mean buying only the receiver while using the stock WL Toys transmitter, I personally haven't tried that and would prefer to replace the transmitter altogether. As for the binding process with a WL Toys receiver, I haven't tried it either. It’s possible that the method is the same as with most receivers, which is pressing and holding the bind button. The process of binding the receiver to the transmitter can vary between brands. If you buy a new set, the transmitter and receiver are usually pre-bound. But if not, the typical binding process involves turning on the transmitter, then turning on the receiver (after it's connected to the ESC and battery), pressing and holding the receiver’s bind button until the light flashes quickly (usually you'll need a small screwdriver to press the bind button), then releasing the button and waiting for the binding process to finish.
Hello what kind of transmitter do you recommend to upgrade the k969?
It depends on the budget, of course. If money is not an issue, the Flysky Noble is great. For a more budget-friendly option, any transmitter with a screen is recommended, such as the Radiolink RC4GS or RC6GS. However, if the budget is tight, I think any RC car transmitter will do. But I suggest buying a brand and model where we can purchase the receiver separately (if they sold the micro receiver is better). This way, it's easier if you want to buy an additional receiver in case you have more than one RC
Hey! i have a problem where when i turn right there isnt enough steering angle,u think u can help me out? (im using a dumborc transmitter)
You need to make sure the servo horn is at center when you install it. Remove the servo horn, make sure the dumbo RC steering trim is at center then install the servo horn again.
Great info and superbly delivered as always!
Thanks bro
@ kuikmix Thx for the video man! 😊 I can‘t find the jr servo to jst zh 1.5mm 4pin you show at 1:11 . Do you have a link from where you bought it? Thx in advance ✌🏻
Unfortunately, I bought it in Indonesia, and it's not sold overseas. I'm sure it's available somewhere else, but I haven't found it yet. You might try changing the search keywords. Or try ask in WlToys forum. In case you still can't find it, you may need to make it yourself. You will need to buy a '4-pin JST ZH 1.5mm connector' and two JR/Futaba servo connectors for the ends.
Thx 4 answering! Hope i‘ll find them. Can u help me again? I connected the gyro and it doesn’t steer on the right unless I turn the steering trim fully to the left. What can be the issue?
Sorry, I just missed your reply (it's easier to notice if you write a new comment instead of replying). About your question, after installing a gyro, you might need to adjust the servo horn again. Remove the servo horn, set the steering trim to 0, turn on the electronics, and then reinstall the servo horn. Hope it works!
It’s good if you’re running it without the body, the steering link as you can see 5:21 it pushes out further than the wheel. when body is placed,it will hit the fenders
I cut the ball head screw so it sits lower (see the short update video in the description). I can still use the stock body just fine, as you can see in my other videos. For example, in this video: th-cam.com/video/ZnSnHN3VKT0/w-d-xo.html
How should i fix if the steering link rod hits the servo horn? Great video btw subscribed already!
Make sure the steering link rod is in the correct position. The front and back of the steering link are not the same; they are different. You might have accidentally flipped the front and back. Or maybe you need to tighten the servo horn onto the servo. Fyi, if you use bigger servo, you can easily adjust the servo position as in this video: th-cam.com/video/X8ltmc2TKEE/w-d-xo.html
Man, gotta say a big thanks. ive tried alot of rwd mods over the past month., especially the steering rack part, tried direct steering, other popular methods and CS mod on youtube, they all come with a drawback which the creators dont tell you. using stock remote and ofcourse fixing the diff - refer to beaver - this steering mod of yours is the best out there. only thing i did different, was instead of the 2 cups on top of each other, i moved the one from the servo horn just infront of the other cup on the wheel hub., about the same hight, it gave me needed toe out( using aluminuim arm). my only only problem still, when i release throttle, the back wheels "handbrake" tried open diff fix, one way diff, same issue. guess a sensored setup might fix it. AGAIN, THANKS ALOT, THIS IS THE BEST.
Wow, thanks, bro! I'm glad it worked for you, and thanks for the tips! :)

Why mine wltoys when its at the max steering angle the front wheel doesnt spin?
It depends on your wheels offset. The wheels might be scrubbing against something; for example, they could be touching the suspension notch on the lower arm. You may need to trim it or make it even. The point is to pay attention to whether the wheels are touching anything.
Nice video my friend 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 A very creative idea 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 I look forward to seeing your designs. Congratulations on your journey forward❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

If i dont want that extra bit when it hits the lower arm do i stop there ?
Yes. It already give you plenty steering angle.
acxwa V2 for k9 series is good for those who don't have skills on making this is hard to recommend. you'll end up ruining you car..
1. I'm not ruining my car; it drifts okay. 2. This video is for those who don’t want to buy parts or 3D print them themselves. 3. In my country, for the same price as the AXCWA V2, I can get a full 3D-printed chassis and parts from front to rear with high mount motor + better gear ratio. So, if I have to choose, I would choose to buy the full 3D-printed parts instead of just the front part of the AXCWA V2. 4. For some people, it’s fun to modify and tinker with their RC cars themselves. But it’s your car, so it’s your choice bro :)
Hello from Russia ❤. Love your videos ❤
Welcome and thank you 🙏
how did u pull off the stock brass pinion (that thing dont wanna come off), and where did u get a replacement
Thanks to a "pignon extractor for Rc" bought on Amazon, 8€, otherwise it's impossibile. Than you can take a pignon from a mini4wd, we all have one of that 90's somewhere 😅

He he bener bro
hello, thank you for your help! I upgraded to a larger servo and moved it to the left side. when i turn to the left the servo link ( the skinny piece attached to the horn) pulls the wheel off the ground because it is not long enough. Wondering if youve had this problem. I am looking to find a longer link
I did not experience this; both of my tires remain in contact with the surface when turning left and right. Try adjusting the servo position to ensure it is balanced when turning left and right. Even a small difference can have a significant impact, as I mention in the video.
if my understanding is right instead of replacing pinion, spur gear ,can i reduce the throttle rate to 40 to 50%? im scared of breaking parts things😊
It will help, but not as much as changing to a slower gear ratio, which will give you a wider power bandwidth that will give you better control.
That's what I figured because a brushless system gives you more wheel speed and torque, you're losing traction with plastic wheels on a smooth surface as well as battery life which negates the advantage of a brushless upgrade. I find with a locked rear diff, most of the weight at the rear and a high steering angle with enough practice a gyro isn't even necessary
A sensored brushless motor with a low KV rating (turn) or the same speed as a brushed motor will give you better control. At least, this is what I’ve experienced with 1/10 RC drift. However, I haven’t tried a brushless motor yet in 1/28 scale.
You need to learn how to drift without a gyro, a four year old with the flu could drift with a bloody gyro, there’s absolutely no skill involved. Put a bit of effort in and learn a skill instead of following the path of instant gratification. Just a top tip for life in general.
I really want to see someone drift with a 2WD RC using drift tires on a hard, smooth, and slippery surface such as tile. Can you show me? Since TH-cam sometimes blocks links in comments, if you CAN show me how to do it, you could upload it to your channel. I’m already subscribed to your channel. I'll wait :) Edit: without a gyro, of course
Without gyro.. I don't think so.. Maybe that kids are using 4wd format.. Because 4wd drifting is easier than rwd drifting for rc car.. Which is can be done without any gyro..
Yeah, I'm 100% sure he's never tried drifting a 2WD with drift tires on a slippery surface.
Correct. But, not 100% correct. You will know it someday.
Which part is not correct? Can you elaborate more? I might learn something new
@@kuikmix Changing FDR indeed help you reducing the speed or maintaining throttle control. Adjusting the ackerman is more important than FDR. Surface and tires also matter. Many people just go straight to the floor and that's not good. Proper set up, surface, tires are the most important thing that people need to remember. What you did is good. You will eventually learn the next step.
I agree with you. I'm not saying that what I mention in this video is the only cause. I'm just saying that it might be one of the causes. I made this video in the context of an 'on a budget' WL Toys 1/28 modification, where we can't change the ackerman, camber, and caster (without further modifications). Thanks for your comment; it will raise awareness for beginners about other things they should pay attention to. Note: Actually, I made a video about Ackerman, etc., two years ago on my Indonesian channel @kuiktip : th-cam.com/video/deSYapgAW7g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mqJ6KRQmp0l_MF_3

Is this strong enough? Reliable? And able to drift?
So far, so good. But of course, there's always a risk with any modification, so proceed at your own risk. You might want to wait until this video series is complete, as I might discover some updates. Fyi, you can view some drift scenes on newer videos (link is on description).
Thanks for the good video bro. I'm gona try this out on my new 284141 when I receive it 😁👍
So, you just want to install the gyro to your new wl toys or you also want to convert it to 2wd? Just a friendly reminder:: 2WD drift is more agile and harder to control. I suggest that you get used to 4WD drifting first. If you find it too sluggish, you can then try 2WD drifting. However, if you struggle to control the car even with 4WD, it will be even harder with 2WD. Of course, if you have experience with RWD drifting, there won't be a problem for you.
