My experience with vector marketing was so so scary! I was an 18 year old looking for a job and it was so effing sketchy. I’m so glad I trusted my gut and had a friend call and pretend she had gotten into a car accident. Girl even was fake crying and hyperventilating for me

That actually works in so many different situations. I taught this to my daughter just in case she is ever in a situation she was uncomfortable with. But I’m usually the one calling and getting her out wherever she needs to escape from. I never tell her what I’m going to say just so she can have a more natural reaction. It’s a good thing I’m her dad, or she would have stopped being my friend for some of the things I’ve said. But it’s always worked. I mostly play the aggressive boyfriend.

Every opportunity has some risk. Sure some opportunities have less risk than others but everything in life has risk. From starting a new job to starting a new relationship has risk. These "bossbabes" are so disconnected from reality it's scary.

Nothing wrong with affiliate marketing, aka building an audience with valuable content and then promoting products to collect commissions. It's a great way to monetize your blog for example. Takes a ton of work, but really quite viable.
Has NOTHING to do with network marketing, MLMs, pyramid schemes or similar.
I'm a blogger who makes money with affiliate commissions. Took me 9 months and plenty of content to make my first commission. And I won't recruit you into my niche because I don't want any more competition. 😂

Affiliate marketing as a term was co-opted by MLMers. Because “influencer” marketing started off as being affiliate marketing because brands as affiliate programs (hello discount counts and affiliate links). They heard the name and stole it to hide in plain sight.

Networking is everything. My mom had a high school diploma, worked at a clothing store, and kept networking until she moved up to a very high up marketing job at a big engineering company making 100K+ per year. Then she invested in a business bought half of it and then sold it for 4 million. It’s all about networking. She tells me that CONSTANTLY. My dad on the other hand also had only a high school diploma, started mixing paint when he was 16, and moved all the way up to international sales manager making 200K+ a year, supervising the entire sales reps and customers for the company’s entire global network. Both good examples of networking and selling yourself. One within the same company and another meeting people from current companies, they move to different companies, want to take you with them, etc.
In my experience, most of those who leave the corporate world for this sort of thing are the ones who couldn't hack it in the corporate environment for some reason. I'm not putting them down for that, because my autistic self couldn't hack it either, but I ended up starting a real business instead of joining a pyramid scheme.
It's the honesty of admitting you were home but not able to be present because you were batch filming, versus their glossing over how they're always working, that makes the difference between you and them. Love ya

Hey Chelsea! I'd love to know your thoughts on the ethics of affiliate programs versus being fully sponsored? As a content creator as well as a business owner myself, I've been finding myself concerned that trying to push an affiliate program is not fairly compensating any influencers I work with. Obviously, I want them to be fairly paid and it feels like a sponsorship offers more of a chance to do that. I suppose, in the same thought process, affiliate program doesn't require you to do anything extra. It just leaves me in a quandary and I'd love to know your thoughts!
