Addamo was running the simulation in his head about how the hands would run out. That’s why he was stone-faced as the board ran out because hehe already knew what was going to happen.
I think he actually KNEW what the run out would be, how else does he call there, KJ 70BB heads up Final table, the smirk when Bonomo shoved....... Cmon Man with 🤔 JK
i think bonomo 4b shoved around 40BB with JTo in a recent battle against addamo and addamo folded. must've been a soul read by addamo to put him on that exact kind of hand for a 4b bluff. but damn, calling off your tournament life with KJ is so thin it's insane how good addamo is
At first glance both the 4jam and the call seem on the super aggressive side. I think it has a lot to do with Addamo having crazy 3bet frequencies heads up and really driving the metagame around that. And he's obviously very self-aware of that, so I guess that might explain how this happened.
I have noticed that about Addamo watching him in a lot of the GG tournament final tables. He's aware that people re-jam on him wide, so he calls it off a bit looser.
Im not good enough to comment the plays in the hand, but we can at least be happy to see these 2 sickos battling like that (two heads ups in one month in the toughest fields in the world is insane)
And next time Justin shoves against Addamo in a similar spot… Addamo is playing above the rim and running pure. It’s crazy to see runs like his, Fedor, Coleman
Bonomo wouldn't open ship a lot of his top range to a re raise though in my opinion so thats why he got called, either way he was losing this hand if he did anything other than fold to the reraise.
@@skillfuldabest I mean in his tight ranges yes but remember that these two are masters at the game and its heads up i've seen some really interesting bluffs from both guys at final tables.
@@Gos1234567 I don't think hes ever ripping that stack in off the 3 bet that size with AA KK QQ more like 4 betting to 5 mil or something I think his only chance of getting him off was making him think more making it 5-7 million
For someone like Bonomo to play this way, and I mean his demeanour, hand selection for the 4bet jam, the speed etc..Addamo must be living in his head rent free.
I can’t believe Addamo called that shove with just KJ. Gotta wonder what exactly he was putting Bonomo on. A small or medium PP and he was racing? Or a mediocre hand that Addamo was actually ahead of??
No it’s just a play that looks strange to onlookers but makes sense in the meta of their strategy against each other. Bonomo knows Addamo finds excessive 3 bet bluffs so he’s willing to shove wider. Addamo knows Bonomo knows this, so he’s willing to call off a bit lighter. Plus there’s an ante which means this plays a lot shallower than 70bb. And Bonomo never just shoves top of range, hands like AA/KK 4 bet non all in.
They know each other well. Addamo knows he has an image of 3 betting light and knows Bonomo is more than capable of shoving all in there with a marginal hand.
70 bb 4 bet jam ?! these bb antes alter shoving ranges drastically or bonomo s just making a massive punt in this one. does he ever have a value 4 bet rip for 70bb? so much room to put in a normally sized 4 bet with the premiums. That definitely must have swayed addamo towards the call.
Yup....Bonomos shove polarized his hand to super premium or marginal hands, with a marginal hand more likely. If you're strong, you'd normally rather just call or make a small raise pre flop and let a super aggro player like Addamo bet into you. Not saying I could make that call, but I get it.
Anyone notice they have very similar poker postures? Hands off the table, arms down either in their laps or by their sides, and the postures themselves are the same, straight back no slouching. Not really relevant just something I noticed and wondered if anyone else did as well 😂
@@winningbackthegirl not a great bluff? IP vs a 8bb 3bet 75bb deep, one of the worst shows ive ever seen in my life. Maybe they made a deal between them idk
T9o is actually a great candidate to 4-bet light with here. Addamo's 3-betting percentage is so high in HU play that Justin is actually more worried about how he can take down a bunch of chips against a ton of weaker hands in Addamo's range. One way to achieve this end is by shoving all-in, which forces Addamo to fold a ton of slight favourites and other similarly weighted hands while also calling off a lot of his underpairs which flip against T9. T9 also blocks a ton of middling hands that would 3-bet here, so having those hole cards in hand makes Justin's decision to shove light a lot easier to make.
Why would you want to block middling hands when they’re candidates to fold to a jam. I mean blocking TT and 99 is good but other than that you’d generally want Addamo to have a T or 9 in his hand
Man what a dramatic way to win it. I wonder what made him call with KJs. I think if Bonomo 4bet to 4 to 5 mil instead of sending it all in, Addamo might have folded.

Bad call by Addamo in my opinion. They're too deep and too late to gamble on live cards like this. Their stacks are nearly identical and he wasn't too invested. He wound up calling a giant hand where he was not in a dominating situation. What did he want Bonomo to have? Exactly K-10, Q-J, or J-10? But the guy's a good poker player still, he just gets really lucky with these types of plays.
