We stayed at Red Roof Inn Airport this past February (first week of February) the night before our cruise (4 night Bahama on Disney Magic). $92.00 plus Free shuttle from airport to hotel. Free shuttle from hotel to cruise terminal . free shuttle from cruise ship terminal back to hotel. (tips not included) Taxi from hotel to airport $22.00 plus tip
Last time I stayed at a Red Roof, I had the joy of listening to my neighbors all night long. the walls were so thin. You should check out some of the long-stay (even if you're not staying a long time) hotels that give you a suite, shuttle, and free breakfast for the same money.
Yes we sometimes stay at a hotel prior to a flight or cruise, but steer clear of the nearby ones who charge high prices in comparison to others. Most transfer you from the hotel to the ship and back, included in the price. They also allow your car to be parked at the hotel included within the price. Makes sense if you think of the hotel saving, car park saving and of course transfers included.
Hi Don! So happy to see you posting more travel videos! Started watching for cruise info- now I watch to see what you’re up to!❤️ I also love Critical Mass! Hey Marc and Paul!
We always stay at this very hotel every time we cruise out of Miami. Though it is expensive, I enjoy the pool bar and the indoor bar as well. Keep your eyes on the pool area... you'll see the iguanas around.
Too funny Don! We stayed in that same exact room in April 2015 the night before our 5 day cruise on the Carnival Victory. We watched people jet skiing on the lagoon and the jets take off an land at Miami International. We want to stay their again! The Balcony was not screened in when we stayed in that suite so that is new.
I always stay at this hotel before my cruises! The hotel almost seems like it's on an island. Love the pool area and indoor seating areas. I have a room booked for next year again for another cruise out of Miami!
We, and other family members, have stayed at the Blue Lagoon three or four times pre cruise. One of the times, we (husband) had a suite, but not one with a balcony. It was similar in size to Don’s , but the regular room is very nice also. We always enjoyed the outdoor bar (although it can get extremely crowded). We took advantage of the on site restaurants for dinners and breakfasts ($$$) because of convenience. If we were to cruise again, we would return to Hilton Blue Lagoon.
What a great room! We’re cruising out of Miami March 2021 on Disney. I’m tempted. Last time I booked the Marriott Stanton south beach through DCL which was great bc its next to a public park (I have a little one) and I could watch the cruise ships sail out, but that room is lovely and I think my family would love it.
I stayed there few times. Big difference in price if there in summer. There is nice path out to lagoon in back. With info signs on wild life. I doikectge zdmDouble Tree right down the road too. Only problem I had there. When I checked out the card key wouldn't open the gates to drive out
Leamington Hotel, Miami... just over the bridge from the cruise ports... cheapest place in the area (not great area, not great room)... but, its a convenient place to "crash" the night before embarking.
Hi there! I was just curious if you were able to take a shuttle from the cruise ship to the hotel after disembarking from your cruise.. I just booked a day pass to stay here after our cruise because our flight leaves in the evening. Wondered if we should just take an Uber.
Thanks for the tour, Don. Just wondering how you were able to travel while we are sheltering in place? I guess I’m not getting something. I see some other people are confused too.
We were supposed to stay at the Blue Lagoon March 27 before our cruise March 28, thanks to COVID-19 it didn't happen, oh well maybe next year. Great video Don.
I like the size, balcony and price. Only thing is when my husband and I come in for a cruise we like to stay near the beach. South beach hotels start around 400/night. Fontainebleau and Loews are my favorite in Miami. 🛳🌴🏖
Considering all that is going on right now, I think that price is pretty high. Check out the Towneplace Suites in Doral. Doral is the place to be, if you are not on the beach its self. I don't know what you are looking for, but they are maybe half that price, yet they are still suites. Just saying...
We stayed at the Wyndam Ramada there by the airport. Nothing fancy, but a great bar restaurant attached to the hotel called Tom's. Great food, drinks, and service! We stayed there coming in the day before, and because the return flight got screwed up, we ended up staying there the night after. Free shuttle from Airport, and $10 per person to the port! We would stay there again.
I’m surprised to see the pool open. We stayed at a 4 star hotel near DFW airport last night and 2 of the 4 floors are closed off, the front desk crew are also the house keepers, the restaurant and bar are closed. And you cannot enter the lobby without them letting you in 😷 I want to say it’s a little over kill, but everyone has to do their part to get past this. When we checked out, we were the last guests in the building. It was Cambria in Grapevine TX. It’s a choice hotel. The staff was incredibly nice, and we want to go back when the coast is clear. Really we were just wanting a night out for my husbands birthday, and since we recently move to our current area we thought it would be nice to check out a place where business guests could stay when they come into meet with us. I liked the vibe 🤩
i travel on a dime so that's a weeks vacation for me - we live in port st lucie 1.5 hours from both ft lauderdale and miami ports - so we park in the fairfield inn fort lauderdale free parking as for miami we don't sleep over nite as we drive down and park.
We stayed right across from there at the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon before our last cruise out of Miami and I wouldn't necessarily recommend that one (it was quite dated), but this looks very nice! We might try this one on our next cruise out of Miami.
Hi Don. I think a few of the commenters need some clarification as to when you recorded this. Suspect it was the Tony and Jenny surprise in February before the bottom dropped out! Be well, stay safe! 👍👍👍
I am glad you do these room tours. I have never been to Miami so would not know that $300 is reasonable as per my previous comment. Are the other area's of Florida cruise port areas the same expense? Thanks Don
quarantine, and we are under "stay at home" or shelter in place directives, a whole country can't be under quarantine. Quarantine is when you self isolate and stay in one room or away from people for a number of days, usually 14 days.
I was wondering the same thing. Maybe it is an old one but still not a great idea Don when so many of us are stuck in side. I'm in Ireland can't fly out of here, nore do I want to yet.
This looks like an older video. His hair looks different to me and he seems just a bit younger. He is probably in Canada now trying to get refunds for those that booked his Alaska cruise and who want their money back.
I love to cruise but I had to cancel one recently and am frankly afraid to cruise this year. Next year I hope to go to an all inclusive resort in the Caribbean. Do you have any blogs on a good one?
Don, thanks for the room tour. I do have one request. When you show the shower, along with a great view of the shower head, would you please show the floor at its entrance? The floor and the width of the entrance to the shower are always of great importance to me. Keep up the great work. Thanks!
Hi Don. That's a beautiful, HUGE room. Are you doing a 14 day isolation? How many free days did you get for the podcast promotion? Just wondering........
Hi don I had a question the room you stayed at what’s it called? So I can book it I like that room. Can I maybe get the number of the room it’s perfect thanks a lot
my last room neat the cruise port was $310 and half the size so I was surprised how large it was with a balcony but yes I prefer to be in the under $200 range :)

From my 1 stay I say I was very happy with it and great shots of planes taking off from the pool or the balcony. although the screen did play tricks on focusing :)

Very nice, thank you! Gotta keep suitcase happy!
suitcase loved having his own room :)

What a beautiful and roomy room. I love the View. Enjoy!!! Stay safe!
it was super large for just me :)
Thanks Don! I may checkout this place when I cruise again out of Miami.
I was quite happy :)
A room fit for a king Don!
I'll admit I did feel a little spoiled there :)
I actually stayed there looking at your video was the deciding factor for me booking that particular room. I loved it. It was very nice.
Staying here in December before a cruise. Thanks for the info
Very nice. I’m gonna stay there my next cruise from MIA. I normally stay at Marriott biscayne bey
If the price is close I don;t think you would be disappointed
Great room more like a condo!. I think that price is very reasonable for the size and quality of the room and the view!
for the price in Miami it was not that bad for what I got

Hello Don... I like it that's super nice😎👍👍👍👍👍👍

Hi Beth doing fine hope your staying safe and doing well

very rare to get a full balcony at hotels these days
Thank you Don I will stay there for my upcoming cruise to Miami great video
Beautiful place to relax before your cruise!!

Hi Dixie, hope your staying safe and sound :)

Thanks, Don. That is nice and convenient. G
I thought is was quite nice and very simple to get down to the cruise port in the morning
Thanks for the tour Don! Nice place! 👍
I quite liked the hotel will stay there again
We stayed here 2 years ago after a cruise, it was great, good memories
I was quite pleased
Just booked it Don for our January 22 cruise on the Oasis
Great video like to see more positive videos right now
I'm going to try :)
I’m watching whatever you got don. 😊👍🏻🛳🌴🙏🏻😷
Thank you for sharing, very nice love the balcony
Lovely, Don.
not a bad room at all :)

Wow. I almost stayed here. Wish I would have. I stayed at the holiday inn express near the Miami airport. It was pretty rundown.

It would be great if you could do more of these. Loved the one you stayed at in Vancouver as well
I plan to do one now for every cruise :)

I stayed at the blue lagoon 20 years ago. Heard loud take offs all night. I guess it depends on which side of the hotel you stay on.
that could be or they may have upgraded the windows as well
Or technology may have changed in 20 years, allowing for improvements.

We stayed there after our cruise in early March.
Very comfortable quiet room, also had a suite.

very true I remember the bad days when I didn't :)
Beautiful view
and huge windows in the bedroom and a balcony to view them with quite a nice room I thought
Great room!!!!
I was quite happy
I can't wait to get to Miami and start cruising again...
Happy Thursday Don.
I'm kind of digging the name of the hotel. And you're right. Not a bad room for that $$.
I was quite large and a balcony besides I though over all a good deal for a last second booking
I love staying there before cruises. I only stay there because the hotel was in the movie Up in the Air.
Nicholas Relstab I never noticed that. Will have to watch the movie again. I’m from Miami.
Thanks for the tour, Don. Just wondering how you were able to travel while we are sheltering in place? I guess I’m not getting something. I see some other people are confused too.

Don, nice video review, BUT I think you have to explain to some people this was recorded some time ago BEFORE the current pandemic!
I live in and work at a hotel in Fort Lauderdale. All hotels in Miami Dade County are supposedly closed. How and why are you doing this?
Pete Peter I think this was filmed awhile ago.

Only use this hotel for parking and ride to and from MIA. Good parking prices.
When I stay in hotels, I always leave a tip for the hotel maid (I leave a few dollars every day for the maid). Do you tip the hotel maid?
ChaseTerrier yes, always.
I do so as not to punish the maid, but the hotels really shouldn't make me responsible for their salaries. I resent that.
I always do at the end of my stay :)
I didn’t know that was even a thing until a few months ago.
If they service the room during my stay, yes. If not, no.
