    Sounds like a shootout for the Volkl Mantra. As an expert skier in my 50s I don't want to work this hard off-piste, even for a good carver on-piste... Thanks for the review!

    Great video. This may be my ski for 2024/5 season

      Thanks! I bet you won't be the only one on a new 99!

    I know this is a tough question - but would these be too much to handle for an advanced intermediate skier? Im on the Atomic Maverick 86Cs (176cm, 88mm) as my daily driver and I love them. But would like to try something a little wider for bigger days and to really feel stable crushing through variable conditions. Should I give the Enforcer 99s a go - maybe in the 173 or 179?

      They're pretty rugged. I do think that if you size down you can access the performance.

      @@SkiEssentials Thank you!!!Any suggestions for others more accessible? Ripstick 96 maybe? Bent 100? etc

    Thanks for the review, I am planning to buy for the 24-25 season. I am not sure which binding to install and have always used the Look pivot. However, when I look at Enforcer's PR movies and test skis, I see a lot of marker bindings (Griffon, etc.). I think they probably use markers during the development stage, but would markers be better to get the most out of the ski?
    I like the low stand height of the Look and would appreciate your advice.

      They have a partnership with Marker bindings so that's why they're on Nordica, Blizzard, Volkl, K2, Line, and maybe a few more. Tyrolia goes with Head, Elan, Kastle, DPS, and Liberty. Salomon goes on Salomon, Armada, and Atomic. Look goes with Rossignol and Dynastar.
      Generally, we like the low height of the Pivot as well, and when the brake width aligns (95 on this 99), then I say it's a go.

    How different is this ski, from unleashed 98, when we talk about carving, Im andvanced skier more of an charging guy who likes to corve on piste, but also want to go off piste sometimes and hit some trees. But I would like to improve my jumping skills, and I love to hit side hits, thats why I am considering unleashed 98, declivity 92 ti, but Im scared of losing the power and performance of carving in speeds and hard pack so maybe I should go with enforcers?. So I can't decide between unleashed 98 and enforcer 99 or even declivity 92 ti.

      Great question, however, there was no answer. I am in the same situation. From the reviews the Unleashed carves well for its weight. But the new 99 has a new tail that makes it more versatile. The 99 should be easy to demo.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If carving on hard pack is truly at the top of your priority list then the Enforcer is the way to go, although the 94 should also be on your list if the Declivity 92 is there as well. While the new 99 has more tail rocker, it's still not in the same zone when it comes to playfulness and freestyle influence as the Unleashed.

    Thanks for the video!
    I’m looking for a replacement for my Head Venturi 95 in 191 cm length (I think the ski is about 10 years old and not very well known). I’d like a ski that I can primarily use for carving on the piste, with some off-piste powder and very occasional ski touring. Do you think the Enforcer 99 with, for example, a Shift binding could be a good all-rounder for me?
    I’m 191 cm tall, weigh 90 kg, and have been skiing for 25 years.

      I find the Enforcer to work better as a resort-oriented ski with no touring due to the weight. If you're fine with the weight, then the Shift will be a decent match, although the Duke PT 16 or Cast Freetour system will be stronger on the on-piste zones. I'd go 185 in this ski.

    I had a Coca Cola today.. A Mexican one with sugar.. I can't remember the last time that I had an original Coca Cola.. It is better than I remembered.. I also see that you just posted the 110mm Freeride Ski Comparison video and I would imagine that the Enforcer 110 will be on that.. What comes to my mind is if the 100 started the Enforcer line then maybe that should be the last one to change.. My understanding of why the 100 was so successful is because it was the perfect balance of groomers and pow.. Logically an 88 should be 75% on groomers 94 probably about 60% 100 50% 104 40% 110 30%.. Does that seam to fit the line? I have been looking for a 95 but it looks like the 99 might be 50%.. My 104 Free I can stay on groomers all day and it just rips but it also rips on mashed potatoes and does not get bogged down...

      The Enforcer 110 is discontinued for 2025.
      The 99 is the 50/50 model, but so is the 94. The new 89 is probably an 80/20 ski, especially when the entire Enforcer line is considered, but they all (including the new 104) are incredibly impressive in an on-trail and carving format.

    I found the 99 doesn't ski hard-packed conditions or groomers anywhere near as nicely as the old 100, it chatters way too much and is extremely off-putting. The 100 was such a consistent ski in any conditions or terrain, 99 definitely isn't the best all-around ski anymore.

      good to know, i was considering it as my daily driver for Mammoth mountain, but if it is not a good crud buster then i'll look elsewhere

      @@urbanrunoff Might not be too bad in crud but for me, it was the hard-packed and firm groomers I found it wasn't as solid as the 100. It's a work ski for me, We can have days when the Alpine is a no-go and we are stuck skiing rock-hard groomers. I'm presuming the Rocker makes it chatter. I even had it tuned as I thought the factory tune may have been off. But solid everywhere else and definitely more playful.

    I’m 5 10 180 pounds Advanced skier. Ski both east and west cost.
    Would you recommend the 173 or 179?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd go with the 173--the skis are sturdy and solid--no real need to upsize to access performance.
