Try to understand that what gives the 2A teeth is that it allows for the use of said firearms to be used against those who would attempt to alter or remove the right itself. No lawmaker is going to care if your sporting or hunting “rights” are removed because that does not directly trigger any anti-subjugation actions. The premise is that defense of a Free State against government subjugation is a valid reason to keep and bear arms.
Arguing any other reason for ownership such as self defense or sporting…even hunting, is hopeless.
Even a large percentage of American gun owners are too stupid to understand that arguments for the sporting or hunting aspects of firearms degrade the fundamental and existential requirement of civilian firearm ownership as a matter of balance of power between a population and its law makers.
No other argument carries any weight in the long run.
If you find your side saying things like “legitimate sporting purpose “ you have already lost.
Try to understand that what gives the 2A teeth is that it allows for the use of said firearms to be used against those who would attempt to alter or remove the right itself.
No lawmaker is going to care if your sporting or hunting “rights” are removed because that does not directly trigger any anti-subjugation actions.

Why it is not possible to make a law that will be permanent, to secure our right to our property.
