I've actually tried these three methods and all of them survived.. ung main factor talaga kung bakit namamatay ung succulents na bagong repot ay over watering.. This is really a big help to those who are struggling newbies. Kudos to you, sir!
So sir kahit bagong bili ok lang na irepot agad wag lang didiligan talaga ng 1week or so.. kase my npanood ako accumulated sya for 4weeks daw so ganun talaga stage nila bago mak adapt sa new soil and environment. After airdry po yun. 😊
Ang pinakagoal lang naman sa pagbili natin ng succulents is makita yung condition ng roots. Depende sa condition ng halaman yung magiging action natin, halimbawa (1) kapag nabili mong basang basa yung soil alisin mo agad kasi for sure magmumushy yan after ilang days (ilang beses na to nangyari sakin).(2) Syempre kapag basang basa yung soil, grabe yung kapit nyan sa roots kaya wala tayong choice kundi hugasan sa running water.(3) kapag white yung roots , kaunting trim lang ok na (pero wag itatanim agad kasi parang sugat yan, dapat hindi mi ieexpose sa bacteria etc) IAIRDRY kahit one day. (4) kapag Brown or black yung roots, BEHEAD, airdry for one week, kayo na bahala kung itatanim niyo na o hindi as long as nagheal na. Super duper beginner palang ako sa succulents for two months pero di parin ako namamatayan ni isa.

I always done #1 and #2 po. Iyan talaga ang mga technique ko kahit pa galing Benguet ang mga alaga ko. Wlang air dry air dry, tanim kaagad tas no watering for 1 week. bright light lang din. I use rice hull mix with vermicast. Kung walang vermicast, iyong poop ng baka ang pinaghalo ko. Sometimes kasi, iyong maraming arte ang nakakapatay ng alaga natin. I'm glad you did some experiment, Sir. thumbs up👍

Kudos!!! Nung first timer ako i air dried my succulents pero they ended up so dehydrated i had to do water therapy days after repotting. Some of my new ones were not air dried and are healthy. You’re right, it really depends on how careful you are with watering and putting them in place, those are big factors. 👌🏻

Thank you so much. I learned three very important factors today. 1) Be carefull in watering especially during the first couple of weeks, err on the dry side. 2) Shaded light and gradually increase exposure to sunlight as needed. 3) Making sure your potting mix is DRY.

It's my first time to have succulents and I find this vlog very helpful. I would go for the 3rd or 4th method but I'm afraid na walang enough air sa apartment 🤣

Great experimentation! Isang tip din na makakatulong is to plant more than one succulent sa isang pot. This way, maraming succulents ang makakasipsip ng tubig versus just one succulent. Lower yung chance malunod ng mga succulents 🙂

Hello! Ok lang kaya ung ginawa ko, pagkabili ko rose cabbage nirepot ko kasama ung dating lupa nya, as in pinatong ko lng sa bagong pot n may vermicast at pumice
Ok lang po talaga sya pero depende sa luck natin kung walang bulok yung roots or meron . Saka yung iba basang basa yung soil kaya nagaatubili ako alisin agad, siguro dinidiligan ng mga seller. Tapos one time narealize ko, dapat talaga linisan ng mabuti kasi may nakita akong mga mealy bugs , tapos meron nung napakahaba na uod, nanghina ako ng sobra pakakita ko. Imagine kung hindi ko pinalitan yung soil ,kinain na sana ng uod yung roots at tsaka ng mealy bugs.
Ask ko lang po first timer po ako mag plant ng succulents 😊 I’m planning to buy benguet succulents po ksi. Once po ba na nakuha ko ung plant I should wash the roots po and Air dry it for 5 days? In the video there's little difference sa 1st (no root trimming, no airdrying) and 3rd process (no root trimming, airdrying) in terms of the plant's health and aesthetics. Thanks for doing the experiment and documenting it. I just got my first couple of succulents a few days ago. They were in seedling bags so I had to repot them. I used soil mixed with pumice and did the first method (no air drying, no trimming). I was so proud of myself after and then friends started telling me that I should have air dried them first, blah, blah, blah). This video gives me hope that I did not kill them. HAHAHA. On a side note, one of them actually bloomed this morning, so all is not lost. :)

Nice experiment. Sure you can go the extra mile of washing, trimming and airdrying to ensure plant's survival after repotting but repotting right away definitely works with quality soil mix, correct watering and sun exposure but most importantly start with healthy plants.
I'll go between the 3rd & 4th. Airdry & cut the roots BUT not the entire roots leaving atleast an inch. It worked for me for my past succulents. Thanks! I just subscribed and im Currently binge watching your other videos! 💞 Godbless!

As in po pag ka bunot from original plastic pot inilipat nyo na lang po agad sa new potting soil ? Or you clean the roots first po?

Nice experiment. Sure you can go the extra mile of washing, trimming and airdrying to ensure plant's survival after repotting but repotting right away definitely works with quality soil mix, correct watering and sun exposure but most importantly start with healthy plants.

I'll go between the 3rd & 4th. Airdry & cut the roots BUT not the entire roots leaving atleast an inch. It worked for me for my past succulents. Thanks! I just subscribed and im Currently binge watching your other videos! 💞 Godbless!

Nice tutorial at the same time conducting an experiment, it is a big challenge because just in case if fails..it can be expensive sacrificing succulent plants just to discover ways what is the effective ways of planting succulent...
