    Why is it that these videos is more an add than actually teaching something. I want to know more about the tools on the ninjaV and how to use them in a real world situation, not just that the tools are there and how great they are. What zebra settings for example, how did he expose for prores raw and so on...

    Finally!! Been always wondering whether I''m doing something wrong in my post-production. Good to have an official Atomos take on the workflow. Need some advice regarding the exposure though - I read somewhere that the native/best ISO settings change when shooting ProRes on the Ninja V . Is that a thing? Can I expose the way I normally would any video - i.e. aim to keep my ISO at minimum (100 in the case of the Z6), and work accordingly as far as possible? Or does it actually have to be at 200 or 800 or something like that?
    Thanks a ton!

    Great video - thanks! Still unsure about the choice of Z6 or Z7. I like the Z7 for photography but the Z6 looks great for full frame video. Nice decision to have to make :-D

    hope all is well. Just did my first shoot with my Ninja V +, I had to abandoned using the Ninja and went straight with the GH5. I was getting a reddish tint with the Ninja V while the GH5 was clear. Not sure why, had none of the assisted focus software on. Any idea?

      10-bit NLog is already available out of the box. Need to use the Ninja V to record it through HDMI. The update is for 12-bit RAW.

    Thanks for the video, very nicely explained. I found Nikon's lut and when I apply it, bad color transitions appear where the brighter area is, although it is not overexposed, it looks like someone used a fine art brush in that place, I also have a screenshot if you want I can send you to look, while there is no such thing on other lut variants, what's the problem with what you think if you understood me? can you do the same edit on the premiere pro, let's see what it would look like?

    Problem is that Apple never delivered on support for this hardware in FCPX (I’ve played with using the Nlog or the Sony Cin profile - since Nikon still uses the Sony chip - but Color Grading is onerous at best!)
    I’m taking a second look using Play Pro to apply preprocessing Pro Res RAW and create LUTs for the Ninja but just starting out…
    I’m also looking at CinemaDNG and export to DaVinici but that’s a whole new learning curve…

    False colour in this combo is not reliable because we can determine highlights quite good but deep shadows can’t be revealed accurately while Atomos shows us that there are no details there we can see those details in post production. I don’t know about middle range.

    Hi, to commend you for your wonderful videos. I'm from Serbia, I wanted to ask you about setting autofocus options when shooting. Which mods would you suggest to me as your best favorite? I have a problem when I shoot and when a person moves, so when a person turns and covers his face for a few seconds with either his hand or just turns, my autofocus is constantly lost, and I would like to solve that. I noticed that they have options 1. tracking focus for z. of 1 fast and 5 delayed
    2. Af speed -5 slower and +5 fast
    3. Sensitivity af for monitoring from 1 high to 7 low
    What would be your favorite setting after 1? under 2 and under 3?
    Thanks in advance. Let me mention that it is a Nikon Z6ll

    • @SooksVI
      @SooksVI 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm using a Z6 and face detect AF is practically crippled when recording RAW. The camera detects the faces but does not keep focus. Manual is the way to go.

    can i record 10bit on Nikon Z 6 without Ninja V

  • @fatheadmediapro
    @fatheadmediapro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Been running into issues with flickering when recording in 10-bit Nlog from z6 to the Ninja V in lower light situations. There are a few threads of people with the same issues. Just putting it out there so people are aware. Hopefully there is a fix for this soon! It’s frustrating and basically makes the footage useless.

    • @jimlafferty
      @jimlafferty 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m curious what your frame rate and shutter speeds are in those situations

    • @fatheadmediapro
      @fatheadmediapro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jim Lafferty it was happening for me at 23.97 FPS and a 180 degree shutter speed, or 1/50. But it happened at any shutter speed and frame rate. It’s an issue with the way the camera processes certain ISO’s. It only happens on every other iso.

    • @RaymondParkerPhoto
      @RaymondParkerPhoto 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it’s a known (but unannounced) issue. Doesn’t leave much latitude. I try to stay at ISO 800.

    The point of this vid is without ATAMOS NINJA V, Nikon z6 eye detection is useless..They promoting the ANV to help Z6. it means z6 is waste of money.. Thats why there's Nikon Z6s now...

    • @therealwil2724
      @therealwil2724 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Z6 is definitely not a waste of money. I love the footage it produces and so do my clients, and that's without the Ninja V. If you have the skills and the eye, it can easily pay for itself.

      @@therealwil2724 oh! can you give some tutorial about focusing?

    • @therealwil2724
      @therealwil2724 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@basicPROcreator Eye detection AF isn’t available in video mode. That’s for photos only. For my run-and-gun shoots, I just tap the screen to track the subject in AF-F mode. It isn’t perfect of course, no camera is but its more than enough and 10x better than my D5300 which still landed me jobs. If you want perfect shots then you have to do multiple takes and select only in-focus clips when editing. If AF is your #1 priority then this camera isn’t for you, but there are so many other things that go into making a good video.

      @@therealwil2724 gosh as a photographer, not a movie maker all this is completely daunting. I wouldny know where to start..is the Sony A7iii any LESS complicated I wonder...??

    • @therealwil2724
      @therealwil2724 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wikedwhich1 Depends on what you’re going into. If you want to do videography such as weddings and such you’d ideally want a camera with good AF and dual card slots. I do less videography and more filmmaking and so to me I’m really not all too worried about AF as I usually manually pull focus, but the Z6 still has stellar AF in my opinion.
      Honestly it can get pretty technical, but there tons of videos on TH-cam to get you into videography or filmmaking whether you want camera comparisons, techniques, editing, etc.
