Personally, I didn't mind all the pegs too much for the Legendary Megazord, I wasn't expecting it to be that good. What drove me away from the Super Megaforce molds was the absolute BULLSHIT they pulled with the Red Lion Wildzord: the only aux critter I had any interest in (due to Samurai mode), and the mode looks NOTHING like it's supposed to. Where Shinken Gokaioh looked badass & imposing, Samurai Legendary Megazord looked like a crack addicted tree...to the point where one would be better off just using the helmet, Lion head, and the actual Samurai Megazord limbs instead. Honestly, even with the Gokai Machines, I only had interest in Gokaioh & Gaolion...
I did not know the legacy Thunderzords needed extra pieces to attach to the Tigerzord. The thing with the Griffon/Unicorn shin parts is disappointing. I'm glad I saved my money.
or they will make more poseable versions of the megazords, id almost wager that 2 of their new siege toys (cog and brunt) who can become like a power up for other figures, are an experiment for their megazords
Honestly, even with Zordbuilder, if BOA would have tried harder, the toys would still be alright. The Samurai Megazord especially had no reason to not have the symbol modes, with or without Zordbuilder. The toys can be good even with Zordbuilder, but BOA don't try hard enough.
I don’t understand. Bandai of America is a subsidiary of Bandai. They could have literally used the same toys from Japan and it would work fine. Why does BoA have to make their own toys?
The whole reason I bought the Samurai zords was for the Symbol mode. (It reminded me of my childhood when I played with the Super Zeo Zords and wanted to incorperate the Zords as the Morphers. (Looking at the latest Sentai, I guess that I was a tad ahead of my time.) It pissed me off to No End when I found that not only had they completely removed it, but had done so to the detriment of the entire zord's integrety. While taking on it's other Megazord combinations. Needless to say, I'm glad you made it so high on your list.
With the Legacy MegaTigerzord, since it's mostly a display piece and not a "toy" in the sense that it's intended to be played with, I found you can still store most or all the extra parts. Bare in mind I'm not a sucker for screen accuracy, in fact I actually leave the firebird weapon off altogether and give it to the Red Dragonzord, so this may not benefit everyone. I actually use the katana sheath chain to wrap the sword around the torso of the final form, the helmet of the Thunder Megazord can be clipped backward off the back off the Lion and hang mostly out of sight on a shelf, the silver thigh guards can loosely hang in the chasms left by the flip put zord builder ports that connect to the bottom of the Tigerzord, and the tiger feet can actually be left where they are just folded up flush against the thighs of the MegaTigerzord. That last one I actually prefer both for the combination and the final look, as it brings over more of the tiger aesthetic in the MegaTigerzord. I'm the kinda guy who prefers well integrated beast kibble adding to the animal motif of my giant(or not so giant) robots.
This video was super unique! I honestly have not heard of a good majority of the complaints and was very much entertained by this. It was informative, you have a really great personality to show during the video. A+
For #2 they should’ve put a disclaimer on the box that it couldn’t do the symbol mode. When I bought it for my little brother for his birthday, we were so disappointed.
I know that prices might be rising. I dunno the reason behind why they couldn't just import the Japanese toys but why..why would they make them like this? Ninja Legacy Megazord was the only megazord that FELT like an adult collector's item and there was only a few things you can take it off to give his legs more flex. Why couldn't they just work around the Tigerzord or even the Dragonzord and Thunderzord designs? Could they just bring in someone like Shoji Kawamori or even Shinji Aramaki to design how the toys would work without it being a parts-forming thing?! Bandai of America has NO accomplishments whatsoever compared to its Japanese estate which got WAAAY more better with its Gunplas and Figuarts and Artisans. What does America of Bandai have that BoJ doesn't? Nothing.
I personally didn’t think the pegs on the legendary megazord wasn’t horrible. I like the playability, and the Zords aren’t blocky, and the armor pieces make for a more streamlined appearance. But I will say there is something fun about having the pieces pop out.
I got this on my recommended and I had always thought for years that I should snag the Legacy versions of Thunder and White Tiger. But wow I'm so glad I saw this video. I'll just stick to cleaning and maintaining my original 2 I got as a kid.
Great review! Another zord builder design I dislike is the knee joint of legacy megazord with the triceratops and sabertooth tiger. Such connection makes the megazord knee so weak that every time forming the ultrazord or mega dragonzord makes it top-super-heavy and will fall forward anytime. Unlike the DX and chogokin versions, the T-Rex knee plug in completely into the triceratops and sabertooth tiger, this is much secure connection to prevent the top heavy problem.
I agree with #1. If comparing the Legacy Tigerzord to the 1994 Tigerzord then I think the Legacy is better. But if when combining them together the original is better. Hopefully they fix it if they ever do a Soul of Chogikin verson
I totally agree that Bandai America has really mangled these Megazords with their Zord Builder system. The fact that Legacy Thunder Megazord costs $200 doesn't help any. It's a wonder that they didn't try using the Zord Builder system for the movie Zords.
they dropped the DX molds to reduce costs the US toys are now all new molds the zord builder was aimed at keeping play value longer as one series zords can swap parts with the current shows toys. basically letting you do you own teamup zord combos. the Legacy line uses it because the first mrgazord out was an reissue of the 2010 mmpr line megazord with some parts redone as diecast. the legacy dragonzord was made to zordbuilder spec because the 2010 mold was used.
The regular toys could still be of better quality, and there is literally no reason why they had to use Zord-builder for the Legacy line, as they're meant for collectors and they could've just NOT reused the 2010 MMPR molds and/or dumped the gimmick entirely once they got to the Season 2 Megazords.
Otaking Mikohani ironically bandai Japan has the artisan line for sentai that reissues old toys with new chrome parts. But for zyuranger reused bandai America mmpr legacy molds. The simple fact was that the DX molds will not pass us safety regs. I think they thought that the zord builder would work for the thunderzords but the suit armor style used to wrap the dragon zord would not work so the assault team was made to be both like the old toy and transform to have the ports.
Jeffrey Piatt "Won't pass safety regs?" Even if these weren't aimed at adult collectors, what could possibly be in those old molds that wouldn't fly today? It's not like we're dealing with G1 Megatron here. And while the fact that BoA didn't design the Legacy White Tiger Zord with the other Thunder Zords in mind is indeed an explanation, it's not an excuse. They should've had the foresight to design them all at the same time in order to make sure that they work together properly. It would be like designing a jigsaw puzzle one piece at a time - just because it looks like the shapes and pictures will go together, doesn't mean it always will.
Or Bandai of America could've played safe and hired Shoji Kawamori or Shinji Aramaki, veteran mech designers to help them with designing the Legacy figs to help them in the future for better Zord toys since Shoji gave us the excellent Macross toys. There were too many variables to play with and now,BoA has lost all respect. I hope they're happy.
Great video!!! So informative and entertaining. I never knew about the Tigerzord problems, but I agree, that is such a disgrace!!! I had the original Tigerzord as a kid and I loved it!
ironically it because the Legacy Tigerzord came out before the thunder megazord set the box art had a instruction set to combine the zord with the dino zords.
Also had the original Thunderzords and didn’t know of this flaw. I only have the White Tigerzord, so when I eventually get the Thunder Megazord I doubt there will ever be a Mega Tigerzord assembly....aside from the initial unboxing.
Re the connection between Lion and Tiger, I think it would have worked OK if the extra clip piece was integrated into the Lion zord. There's really no reason for it to be a separate piece.
I have a love/hate relationship with zordbuilder. I like that I can crossover different megazords, but bandai does not plan ahead. The Falconzord just slides into the back of the ninja megazord and falls off easily. They put clips on the Falconzord wings, hinting at the shogun megazord coming, but we are not getting that apparently. And the Mega dragonzord is so top heavy that it just falls over. I hope hasbro keeps zordbuilder but makes improvements to it.
They had a shogun megazord planned but people didn’t support the other releases and they pushes it back but they sold the license so we may never get one shogun megazord again
Yea, I definitely get that some of the assembly of toys would be frustrating, I DEFINITELY enjoy what you're talking about, but no one is perfect. When has anything ever in this world been screen accurate? You can't please everyone. I respect the creators for all of their hard work on making our childhood action figure dreams come to life in a sense. Better that, than to not have made a toy at all.
With the Legacy line, BOA should have just re-released the original molds with die cast parts and paint apps. This is supposed to be a collector's line, so I don't understand why they would incorporate Zord Builder with it. Collectors generally are willing to pay a higher price if the quality is there, and sadly, with the Tigerzord, and arguably the entire Thunder Megazord line, it just wasn't. And I don't want the excuse that the original molds weren't available, because Japan re-released Dairen'Oh, using the original molds as the first toy, though with die cast, paint apps, and a few extra accessories, and it was fantastic. Really wish I'd gotten my hands on it. I'm just surprised they didn't re-release Dai Tiger with it (I believe that was the Japanese name for the Tigerzord). Either way, BOA just wanted to cash in on the Zord Builder gimmick, or at least that's my theory as to why their collector's line included it. I know they have SOC, but that seems to be a higher end collector's line, considering the price points, and there's no guarantee we will ever get a Thunder Megazord release, or a Tigerzord for that matter. And that's a crying shame that BOA dropped the ball so hard with this one
I use this video to back up my disgust for zord builder ports. The funny thing is the hope that lightning collection brings in a collectors grade zord line gets brought up a lot. And my biggest point is I that I want hasbro to stick as true to the original sentai toys but with modernized articulation and detail. And when I get asked what is so bad about them I show this video. Great job on this.
Fair enough that Bandai redesigned the original Dairen-oh and added improved figures of the Dairangers that stand on top of the Zords. The major bonus many wanted are the Lai-Lai Jewels, and a complete set at that, because we only got Red and White's Jewels that light up. Also, in your opinion, do you wish Bandai Japan would reissue the Legacy Ninja Megazord and Falconzord so that they can make a proper Shogun Megazord branded under the Super Sentai Artisan line? Of course it's Kakuranger and they got better for their last run but failed to make the Shogun Megazord before the buyout is complete, but one can still dream because Zordbuilder can still breathe new life to that.
I'm glad I got the super sentai artisan versions of the thunder megazord and tigerzord. Although, the articulation of the red dragon and the slimmed down design is really nice with the legacy thunder megazord.
Mega Tigerzord could have worked better with a few minor engineering changes. The shoulders aren't that bad to me, but the legs definitely baffled me. At least making the thigh guards integrate back in after being pulled off would have been an improvement. No such luck.
im surprised that all the zords from operation overdrive's western release didn't get a mention or a spot since the final combination doesn't work because the submarine doesn't fold the way it's supposed to but a fix for that would be to keep the attaching method from the japanese toy and that problem would be solved not to mention that the piece that you remove from the crane to attach the blue gyro craft to the truck zord in the final combination can be used as the helmet piece for the combination with the mixer, crane, drill and excavator speaking of the excavator they removed the extending gimmick which just makes the final combo look weird and not accurate
I hear you on the last one bud, in fact for my legacy tigerzord I don't remove the legs at all, I slide them up against the knees similar to the Jungle Fury Red Tigerzord.
Fun fact: There actually was a Lauren figure released, but only in the UK. The box was made to hide the identity of the figure inside by covering it's window and, if I recall correctly, it was simply called "Mystery Figure".
OMG i didn't know Legacy Mega Tigerzord was so awful! Removing some parts of the Zords, and using additional parts to combine them is definitely NOT the spirit of the Megazords transformation. The old Mega Tigerzord was much better.
I just got a Legacy Tigerzord, partly to experience the horror myself. Agree with 99% of what you said, but I did figure out a solution for the floppy legs. If you tighten the screws in the Griffin and Unicorn, particularly the two on closest to the back, that will give a more solid connection for the Zordbuilder hole... pieces? Still a horrid transformation method, but hopefully that makes it tiny bit less horrible.
9:00 Well the samurai megazord was my childhood(The American Bandai one ) As a kid I was obsessed with the power ranger series , I would watch TH-cam videos about power ranger for hours to no end. But one day, I saw it a glimpse of power ranger merchandise, a samurai megazord .There was a lot of megazords in the store that day. I said to my mom could I buy the megazord but she said "If you get a good score this year I will buy it ." Because of that I study my ass off to get that megazord . That year I got really good scores. But I offortunately ,I chose the samurai megazord . Literally the third mode of the megazord was gone. That disappointed me so much that they compromise the symbol shape whatever you call it mode.Well it's still saddened me to this day 😔. At least I got good scores. 😀
I'd throw in Goseigrand, Goseiultimate, and Goseijet (aka Goseiwonder) Megazords as dishonorable mentions. Check it: Goseigrand: With the Lion being a vehicular "playset" to justify the $25 price, the Knight Brothers were separately sold and modified into the cheap ten dollar bikes that nobody pays attention to. So it's insanely easy to miss them, especially if poor distribution kept them outta stores around you. Goseiultimate: This isn't so much for the Zordbuilder System as it is for the design language of it, along with the main gimmick of the Megaforce zords in relation to the Goseiger mecha. Because of how the shrinkdown & slimming down works, this adaptation of the Goseiger version *loses* the detachable Headder gimmick I'm the chest. Between this and the abomination of the Ultra Dragon Sword (the adaptation of the Super Gosei Staff), we actually DO NOT have zord compatible Miracle Headders/Ultra Mode Zords. Goseijet: The purple Goseibird (repaint of Goseidragon with a new Headder) was all by itself as another $25 vehicle "playset". Making matters worse, the other four Wonder Headders were split (two apiece) to be part of these hideous lawnmower looking $15 bike things. And to add insult to injury, they kept the annoying thing from the Japanese version in that of you wanted to have Goseiwonder AND Goseigreat displayed, you literally _needed_ a second copy of Goseigreat, since the Dolphin, Kabuto, Elephant, & Alligator Wonder Headders all occupied the spots on Shark, Phoenix, Tiger, & Snake (with Bird obviously replacing the Dragon entirely).
If they had given us a second snake torso with the Bird Mechazord, it wouldn’t have been too much of a problem, for then we could have abused zordbuilder ports for profit
This exactly why Hasbro bought the entire mmpr from all of Bandai. Hasbro will bring back quality toys back into stores and not the cheap step from Bandai.
The Beast Morphers zord releases this far would disagree...and being sold individually like how Bandai America handled the 2017 Movie Megazord...it costs more to catch'em all.
I have all of the Japanese gobusters zords. Love the quality of them so I'm not surprised that they were sold individually, considering they're bigger than normal individual zords. Nowadays You can get them for price similar to Hasbros Beast Morphers. Just need to look up on Ebay. Quality is so much better
The funny part about the legendary megazord is the way it works is literally how I made my lego GokaiOh work, and this was before the Power Rangers version ever came out! Basically I made my GokaiOh too small to have the opening doors gimmick so I made my lego version have the arms and legs just have spots on the front to plug in the accessory mecha, and only the red zords' door opens up.
10:06 ...Still can't believe people actually successfully talked me into getting that whole damn thing. (I would know- I was the one who shot that picture on the left for CDX!)
Tbh I never liked the megatigerzord combo myself(even though the white ranger is my favorite) so the zord builder things never bothered me but I definitely understand the frustration
When it came to Bandai's Ninja Steel Zord toys I thought they were really cheap, so I bought the Japanese versions with the exception of the Blaze Megazord due to price.
I can defend the tigerzord having the issues it has due to it coming out waaayyy before the thunder megazord, so they had to make some adjustments with the thunder megazord so they can make the combination, and honestly I think it still looks amazing!!
In my opinion, Hasbro should make some screen-accurate Megazords, Morphers, and other stuff aimed at collectors, like take what Bandai Japan had done and globalize it. Bandai America has actually done that in the past with the Samurai Megazord and whatnot.
The last zord set my parents got for me was the samurai set that didn't have the symbol mode. And sadly that was the only big feature I wanted. I watched a bit of Megaforce but then dropped out of power rangers as a whole. I still love the ones I grew up with and the zords still make me so happy to see but now I'm 19 and now looking into nostalgia stuff so I'm debating on rewatching older series 😅
Look for a Nippon edition Samurai Megazord, they actually imported the Japanese version to America in 2013 and you would be able to create symbol mode there.
It's insane that the Dinocharge critters largely turned out way better than the Super Megaforce ones. I missed out on the Titanocharge Megazord because it was VERY poorly distributed, even moreso than Ankylo & Pachy!! Speaking of compromises, here's a couple honorable mentions: · Goseiultimate losing the Headder compatibility (and NO compatible heads were ever made) in favor of keeping the size & scale in line with the other Megazords. This was replaced with the rather weak Command Center mode. At least they kept the even dumber backpack mode (attaching it to Goseigreat, which I thought was pretty stupid in Goseiger, too). · Speaking of Megaforce, the Brother Jets and Hyper Headder/Ultra Change Zord being slapped onto a crappy Knight Brother Bike repaint. The Jets I can understand, Datas (and Datas Hyper) wasn't used in Megaforce, so these are a great way to explain the Sky/Land/Sea Brothers in the Hyper/Ultra Goseigreat formation...which the show didn't bother with. But the Hyper Headder as a bike was just dumb. Why? · Goseigrand's handling. Marketing Grandion/Lion Mechazord as a separate vehicle akin to the BoA exclusive Tiger Tank from Samurai was one thing, but it forced the Knight Brother legs to be rethought and thus marketed as crappy bikes nobody usually cares about. And the bikes were poorly distributed at that. (Ultra Change had better distribution) Goseigrand should've just been marketed as a complete Megazord, with Ultra Change included. · Goseijet Megazord. I get selling Goseijet by itself, it's kinda what BoJ did with Goseibird. BUT!! Instead of packing in the other Wonder Headders, Goseijet is again marketed as a crappy vehicle (like Lion Mechazord) with a crappy Red Ranger & harness...and the other Wonder Headders were slapped onto these craptastic lawnmower looking things (two per mower) that were marketed as bike types!! So instead of just having to get a second Goseigreat & Goseiwonder set if you wanted to display Goseiwonder separately (because you still needed the bodies of Shark, Phoenix, Snake, & Tiger for the Dolphin, Kabuto, Alligator, & Elephant Headders), you had to get a second Goseigreat AND the two lawnmowers AND Goseijet if you wanted to display the Goseijet Megazord separately from Goseigreat!! · On to Dinocharge: Spinozord's boomerang spine being replaced by a crappy missile launcher spine that only the Stegozord body mold arm critters (Stego, Tricera, Ankylo) can hold properly; a problem exacerbated by the fact that the arms of the Megazords DO weaken over time at the shoulders (as far as holding up for poses; this is a problem across the entire Zordbuilder board, actually, since the tabs & ports are smaller and apparently softer plastic), and the Spinozord's missile launcher is just too heavy for its own good. There's no excuse at all for such a change, not when they didn't do something so dumb to the Tyrannozord (which Spinozord was a retool of to begin with)...
I would have loved if we just got the japanese versions of all of the zords and megazords from every series. They look and work so much better than what we've been getting, and then have so much more functionality. I think zordbuilder is a waste of our time and money.
I really wish they'd come out with a smaller Lion Fire, it's cool that my five inch armored red ranger (when it finally came out) fits in the mouth, but it is WAY too big for the zord combos!
People are happy to pay whatever in japan because their average cost of living is 50,000 yen less than what the minimum wage is for the country...874 Yen/hr x 40 x 52/12 is 151,493.33 Yen...average cost of living is about 100,000 yen a month...and a lot of Japanese residence have a part time job and work almost 30 hour a week doing that too...so they have more money to spend out...thus are willing to pay more...compare that to the US and the ridiculously low minimum wage that has a lot of Americans living in poverty...the only way to get us to buy stuff is to make it as cheap as possible...
My brother got my the Legacy Tigerzord for Christmas 2015. I wanted the old Tigerzord as a kid, never got it. So I was surprised by the gift. It was a lot of money and I honestly didn't deserve it. The Legacy Tiger looks cool as a display piece, but shifting it at all make my entire face cringe. I stand it for display purposes and live it alone. 14:57 Thanks for the warning. I was thinking of getting the Legacy Thunderzord for Mega Tigerzord but that just looks like a huge hassle.
it's insane that those zords are so expensive, they're supposed to be better thought out than the original, but they're worse somehow, just like GTA Definitive, 20 years of advancements taken into account and somehow it's offensively worse
I gave up on the zords after Samurai, the last one i technically bought was the Goseigers aka Megaforce. I imported the original mechs instead of buying the Megaforce zords but since then haven't bought anymore since.
@@powerrangertube i always thought that the firebird wrapped around the mega tigerzord's forearm. but i'm looking at a video now and it shows a glimps of the mega tigerzord holding onto some kind of handle on the firebirds belly
The Legacy Ninja Megazord and Falconzord are fantastic in my mind, and Tigerzord by itself is maybe a little better than the original, but some of the changes made that relate to its interaction with the Thunder Megazord (that came at a huge price point itself) were very offputting and I'm more than alright with my originals.
Everything you just complained about I like with the ape samurai zord there is a way to fix it on the gigazord and I love that you can use the megazords with other megazords and I didn't like the panel on the legendary megazord and I think for the most part Bandai of America did a great job the only thing I agree with you is the lion fire fortress zord but I think they are good toys and lots of fun
I hated how Bandai kept pressuring saban to skip season because of the collectible gimmicks. I was really bummed when I heard they would skip gobusters. Welp, good riddance, Bandai! Welcome, Hasbro! I really hope they get rid of the Zord builder system. If not, hopefully they at least make it sleeker.
it was Saban who skipped seasons and not the other way around as you stated. even the decision for dropping Dairanger to make Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2 and just keeping Kiba Ranger / White Ranger ( do you know why? because Saban thought that a new cast of characters might alienate the current viewers. yet come to think of it, the cast was replaced eventually.) dropping Kakuranger to make Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 3 (first half to be precise) The FALCON ZORD was not piloted by a Ranger! There was no Pink Ranger in Kakuranger. The "Giant Beast General White Kark" (White Shogunzord in PR), "Beast General Fighter Battle Kark" (White Battle Borg) & Super Stealth Beast God Kark (Crane Ninjazord in PR) was Piloted by the NinjaWhite(Tsurihime) of Kakuranger. When it was go-buster's turn to be adapted, Saban was skeptic as there were less usable footage as there were less costumed and more unmasked, this would mean that Saban would need more cost to adapt the season, as it would need more filming (technically Go-Buster only had an average of 5 minutes worth of usable footage, and by saying usable footage, this means that the characters are in costumes / rangers suits / megazord battles. while the other seasons had about 10-12 minutes of costumed action scenes) leading to Saban to drop the Season and use the next Super Sentai Series instead. Why? because it's less costly to film the remaining 13-15 minutes that to do 20 minutes of the show. and if your saying Bandai is keeping the pressure due to the gimmicks, why would Bandai bother to create a new cast and mold for the US versions when the already had the Japan Versions ready and were already earning a fortune from it as these toys were selling good also in neighboring countries of Japan. If you think of it logically, the US Versions would cost NEW MOLDS, NEW DESIGNS. and you know why US Version toys has dropped a lot of the Japan Versions toy features? It's also because Saban wanted the toys to be sold at a lower price. this is quantity over quality.
BoA never released the Legacy Zords over here in my country for some dumb reason. I was sad at that point. But after watching the video on the Legacy Thunder zords transformations, I'm now glad I didn't spend money on them. It's atrocious how the Tiger Zord and Thunder zords connect together. I'm stiicking to the original toyss. Wish I could get the diecast line, of the original 3, but they are too much.
Agreed they did Tigerzord dirty in a lazy and badly thought out way, there they had to retrospectively add adapters With Thunder Megazord just to make it work. It's better than flat out not being able to combine (which would've been more embarrassing for them and more frustrating for us) , but only marginally.
I have the first Megazord of the US adaptation. But it's really tiny and you can only connect the Trex to the Tiger and the blue thing. It's around 20cm tall. Then I have the WhiteTigerzord which can transform a bit. But same size / limitations. And then I have the Shogun Megazord - which is the best as far as my view goes on these things.
i remember when i had the megazord and thunder megazord the mastodon zord nose and red dragon thunderzord head broke off really easily (they were made really poorly)
TheMonyarm And you should see Italy. We get the first wave of toys and nothing else. During Megaforce they aired commercials showcasing the Ultra Gosei Great combination, bit the actual zords forming it were not released here.
OMG, YAS. They should've made 2 Lion Fire zords, an action figure playset, & a more screen accurate megazord, with a mini red ranger figure, for collectors! And yes, they should've just scaled down the Samurai zords without taking away their screen accuracy; the candy toys R proof that good PR/sentai toys can B made smaller!!!
My Top Five favorite Zord Builder Megazord's: (1) Legacy Dino Megazord (2) Legacy Mega Thunderzord (3) Legacy Ninja Mega Falconzord (4) Ultra Gosei Great Megazord (5) Ninja Blaze Megazord
I can't remember where I seen it but when I was like 16 years old and 1996 there was some GI Joe style power ranger knockoffs they were made like the little 3 inch tall GI joes I have never seen them again but they was cool to articulation and everything was cool and they could fight with your GI joes I think they was just a little bit bigger than the GI joes but it wasn't like so much of a difference you couldn't explain the way by the helmet size I don't know you could it was easy they fit in the GI Joe toys it was pretty cool I wish they would make more of those though or the company hasbroil would make some of those I would buy them for my son
I still love the Legacy Thunder Megazord ans White Tigerzord, but I agree, the connections for the Mega Tigerzord are terrible! It's part of the reason I almost never change my Legacy White Tigerzord into that mode.
I love how just seeing the shitiness of the legendary megazord made you buy gokaioh and all of the other gokaiger machines
+Spike Culliton 😂
That’s the same exact thing I did after seeing it. The zord builder has pegs on it were too much and I bought Gokai oh
Now that Hasbro, the creators of Transformers, owns Power Rangers hopefully the combination methods for the Zords will improve.
Hopefully they will import the Japanese Super Sentai molds.
Or they use the Japanese Molds again!
Hasbro should use The Japanese mold instead of being like Bandai's American Branch.
or they will make more poseable versions of the megazords, id almost wager that 2 of their new siege toys (cog and brunt) who can become like a power up for other figures, are an experiment for their megazords
hello from the future, where the megazord just got revealed at toy fair!
i thought Zordbuilder was a website were people can make Power Rangers Zord OCs to fit their fan made power ranger teams.
I would love to have a site like that.especially if it had tools to help with the transformations and combining aspects
They actually have that before when samurai was airing
Honestly, even with Zordbuilder, if BOA would have tried harder, the toys would still be alright. The Samurai Megazord especially had no reason to not have the symbol modes, with or without Zordbuilder. The toys can be good even with Zordbuilder, but BOA don't try hard enough.
Amazing Spiderman Fan 2002 NOPE!
Amazing Spiderman Fan 2002 not at all. It’s actually quite simple. The ports don’t hinder at all any form.
I don’t understand. Bandai of America is a subsidiary of Bandai. They could have literally used the same toys from Japan and it would work fine. Why does BoA have to make their own toys?
@@pokemaster123ism Because importing products was getting way too expensive and also too generate more money
Bro literally they do try hard enough and if you don’t like then don’t buy it but other people do like it so shut up
The whole reason I bought the Samurai zords was for the Symbol mode. (It reminded me of my childhood when I played with the Super Zeo Zords and wanted to incorperate the Zords as the Morphers. (Looking at the latest Sentai, I guess that I was a tad ahead of my time.)
It pissed me off to No End when I found that not only had they completely removed it, but had done so to the detriment of the entire zord's integrety. While taking on it's other Megazord combinations.
Needless to say, I'm glad you made it so high on your list.
This is why you just always buy the super sentai versions
wild force is the exception to that, they had painted segments were the gao ranger version had sticker
I'd like to have the Super Sentai versions, but since I've an extra thight budget I have no chance to buy them.
Jason Studioso
Well, nowadays, starting from around Zyohuger, even the Sentai versions are awful.
I remember having the original Megazord as a kid, loved that thing.
I actually got the full gigazord box set as a gift from my parents when it first came out. It's completely silly but I still love it
With the Legacy MegaTigerzord, since it's mostly a display piece and not a "toy" in the sense that it's intended to be played with, I found you can still store most or all the extra parts.
Fun Fact: If you look on the side of the TigerZord box it actually shows it combining with the DINO ZORDS and NOT THE THUNDER ZORDS lol
For #2 they should’ve put a disclaimer on the box that it couldn’t do the symbol mode. When I bought it for my little brother for his birthday, we were so disappointed.
Saddened for you. That was mean of them to remove it
Rule of Zord Builder: If it can twist, it can be removed
Now let's see what Hasbro would do
I like the zord builder series because I'm a huge fan of modularity but I agree that these particular approaches are unfavorable
Oh yeah I almost forgot about Toqger’s red ressha... phalic symbol
I must applaud you on your presentation style, no ums or errs. Excellent vocabulary and seemless delivery. Impressive, well done.
I got super upset when i realised that the samurai megazord didn't have the symbol modes
It would be nice to get legacy shogun Megazord
They had a shogun megazord planned but people didn’t support the other releases and they pushes it back but they sold the license so we may never get one shogun megazord again
It looks like it was something that sounded better on paper
Yea, I definitely get that some of the assembly of toys would be frustrating, I DEFINITELY enjoy what you're talking about, but no one is perfect. When has anything ever in this world been screen accurate? You can't please everyone. I respect the creators for all of their hard work on making our childhood action figure dreams come to life in a sense. Better that, than to not have made a toy at all.
I'm a huge white ranger fan, and you just saved me $200 dollars. I'm skipping the legacy mega tigerzord and just going old schhool
Haha thanks! I guess it does well at communicating my disgust 😂
Valid arguments for a great vid. Good to see you posting vids again :)
+StratasHai cheers! Good to be back
im surprised that all the zords from operation overdrive's western release didn't get a mention or a spot since the final combination doesn't work because the submarine doesn't fold the way it's supposed to but a fix for that would be to keep the attaching method from the japanese toy and that problem would be solved not to mention that the piece that you remove from the crane to attach the blue gyro craft to the truck zord in the final combination can be used as the helmet piece for the combination with the mixer, crane, drill and excavator speaking of the excavator they removed the extending gimmick which just makes the final combo look weird and not accurate
That's because they are not part of the zord builder line.
Oh, I just realized that you were talking about 5 inch figures.
The Lauren figure was a part of the 4 inch line.
I hated the fact that the FoldingZords couldn't fold into symbol mode so much, I got Shinken-Oh.
OMG i didn't know Legacy Mega Tigerzord was so awful!
Removing some parts of the Zords, and using additional parts to combine them is definitely NOT the spirit of the Megazords transformation.
The old Mega Tigerzord was much better.
It's a frustrating situation where (most of) the new version looks and displays better but the old version is better to transform and use.
I didn't know the megatigerzord had those little slots on its wrist that help it hold the weapon thankyou for that
I just got a Legacy Tigerzord, partly to experience the horror myself.
9:00 Well the samurai megazord was my childhood(The American Bandai one )
As a kid I was obsessed with the power ranger series , I would watch TH-cam videos about power ranger for hours to no end. 😀
I never put it in mega tigerzord mode because I'm afraid I'm going to rip off the ports when I take it apart. It takes way too much force to do so
I'd throw in Goseigrand, Goseiultimate, and Goseijet (aka Goseiwonder) Megazords as dishonorable mentions. Check it:
Goseigrand: With the Lion being a vehicular "playset" to justify the $25 price, the Knight Brothers were separately sold and modified into the cheap ten dollar bikes that nobody pays attention to.
Megaforce got a bad showing in their zord line.
If they had given us a second snake torso with the Bird Mechazord, it wouldn’t have been too much of a problem, for then we could have abused zordbuilder ports for profit
I started buying the Japanese mecha when Samurai revealed the bullzord. The size difference is definitely noticeable!
You made a great video/retrospective. This is well worth a watch for collectors, or even Sentai and Power Rangers history buffs.
@@DragoonMS Here is the thing though, Bandai did that with the zords of Beast Morphers/ Go Busters in japan before.
I have all of the Japanese gobusters zords. Love the quality of them so I'm not surprised that they were sold individually, considering they're bigger than normal individual zords. Nowadays You can get them for price similar to Hasbros Beast Morphers. Just need to look up on Ebay. Quality is so much better
this didn't age well, i assume you've all seen what the dino fury toys have been like
The image of Toq-Oh having a massive shlong made me laugh like a madman
Glad I own the originals for number 1.
Soooo glad zordbuilder is passing away, also I really hate how we never got the rest of the ninja steel zords, the sub surfer & the T Rex
Well....T rex was only in the Nininger movie so he wouldnt even apper in the show
@@silverfoil8854 Honestly, I was hoping to see it in a crossover, wishful thinking.
Where Megazords fail, Transformers Combiners succeed in forming a better Gestalt. Even the Latter Voltron figure was combined so much better.
Zord Builder looks like it was something that sounded good on paper but the reality wasn't what they thought it would be
It didn't work in practice cause megazords have glaringly different proportions and don't always have the same joints
Speaking of compromises, here's a couple honorable mentions:
· Goseiultimate losing the Headder compatibility (and NO compatible heads were ever made) in favor of keeping the size & scale in line with the other Megazords.
I agree with you I always like the original
I really wish they'd come out with a smaller Lion Fire, it's cool that my five inch armored red ranger (when it finally came out) fits in the mouth, but it is WAY too big for the zord combos!
For me on the Samurai Giga zord, I left the yellow zord as a monkey so it doesn't quite stick out like an arm does.
The legacy line couldn't have been perfect if it wasn't for a few flaws especially the zord builder (legacy zords shouldn't be zord builder)
Always wished theyd put more into the zords.
That white tiger zord hurt my soul...
Same here over and over
I have all of these up til Zeo. My childhood.
I think in samurai, some of the battle gear or ranger weapons could be held by the Megazord.
3:18 That ToQger that has big...weapon
😂
Okay....I have something on my mind lately and it's that...is there toys of giant monsters for the megazords to fight?
it's insane that those zords are so expensive, they're supposed to be better thought out than the original, but they're worse somehow, just like GTA Definitive, 20 years of advancements taken into account and somehow it's offensively worse
I’m really hoping that Hasbro creates an higher-quality equivalent to Zord Builder that allows various zords from various seasons to connect.
I display the thunderzords as the assault team and red riding the tiger.
I just found your channel and am really enjoying the content. Subbed. Keep up the good work!
I gave up on the zords after Samurai, the last one i technically bought was the Goseigers aka Megaforce.
I imported the original mechs instead of buying the Megaforce zords but since then haven't bought anymore since.
when i had the thunderzord toys as a kid the firebird zord just clipped around the tigerzord warrior mode's arm
With fake feet! So much better
@@powerrangertube i always thought that the firebird wrapped around the mega tigerzord's forearm. but i'm looking at a video now and it shows a glimps of the mega tigerzord holding onto some kind of handle on the firebirds belly
@@knightblazer85 I think in the show it did but the toy uses the hand
Ninjastar567 We’re getting Go-Buster next year
it was Saban who skipped seasons and not the other way around as you stated.
even the decision for
dropping Dairanger to make Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2 and just keeping Kiba Ranger / White Ranger ( do you know why? because Saban thought that a new cast of characters might alienate the current viewers. yet come to think of it, the cast was replaced eventually.)
dropping Kakuranger to make Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 3 (first half to be precise) The FALCON ZORD was not piloted by a Ranger!
So i wasnt the only ome who brought Gokai oh after seeing the legendary megazord
i remember when i had the megazord and thunder megazord the mastodon zord nose and red dragon thunderzord head broke off really easily (they were made really poorly)
Not pretty much everywhere since in Bulgaria all you can find is some old Samurai and Megaforce figures.

Agreed!
Yeah I hate the Legacy Tigerzord Battle mode combination it really sucks
My Top Five favorite Zord Builder Megazord's:
(1) Legacy Dino Megazord
(2) Legacy Mega Thunderzord
(3) Legacy Ninja Mega Falconzord
(4) Ultra Gosei Great Megazord
(5) Ninja Blaze Megazord
Is Ninja Blaze worth getting?
I do believe that it is.
I still liked the zord builder ports. How else could I give my time machine dino sum samurai boots, dragon wings and pew pew laser blasters!?
i still like the idea of zordbuilder but it should have been a separate toy line from the "hero" megazord
My Top Five Worst Toy Sixth Ranger Morphers (that you should review)!
(1.) Beast Morphers Striker Nerf Gun
(2.) Robo Knight Cell Phone
(3.) Legendary Silver Flip Phone
(4.) Ptero Charge Crossbow
(5.) Mosa Fury Nerf Gun (or whatever it is)
I still love the Legacy Thunder Megazord ans White Tigerzord, but I agree, the connections for the Mega Tigerzord are terrible!
It's part of the reason I almost never change my Legacy White Tigerzord into that mode.
Wow, the Legacy Tigerzord seems like a pain in the ass.
Sadly yup
