Thanks for this reaction, this isn't really the kind of song I would normally use to introduce Babymetal to someone, it doesn't showcase their strengths as clearly. Please react to Babymetal Karate at Download 2016. Babymetal was the first to introduce choreographed dance into metal genre also they were just kids when they started. Yes, 12 and 11 and 11. They fuse any sub-genre of metal or any genre of music with metal as they feel like. Sadly in 2018 one of the members left Babymetal because of health problems, the kind of health problem was not disclosed. If you want to see something from earlier, Megitsune MV would be great Want to see more of their live performance powers: Road of Resistance live in Japan And maybe a bit crazier: Headbanger at Legend 1997 Or the compilation video from a couple of live performances: BABYMETAL // BxMxC A new album was released only a few days ago, they have for example a song like: METALIZM If you want to see more of a show element: Babymetal Death Legend 1997 Have a fun journey !
Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 [FYI : "Kami Band" in the girls' back have been good friends of your favorite Band-Maid for years] As an eyewitness of this performance at the venue on Jan. 28/29, I guarantee that the live sound with Kami Band had more power and heaviness to stir your feelings. High and low undulation of Su's voice and sharp moves by Moa and Momoko disordered my emotions 😱. They will return to USA in September and October and perform at 3 huge festivals in Blue Ridge (VA), Louder Than Life (KY) and Aftershock (CA). Provably they will also go on US tour in this timeframe like they did 20 gigs in 18 states in 2019. Please explore BABYMETAL more.
Nice reaction😊 As you can see the name Babymetal, original concept was to combine metal music with cuteness. So there are many mixed reception about them. Perhaps best to react Ijime Dame Zettai from Sonisphere 2014 which gives you what they are about.
Good first reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊It isn't possible to pigeonhole them or to restrict them to just one box or genre ... that won't work. You won't have seen or heard anything quite like them. They invented their own sub-genre of metal and they do everything in their own way, not following the standard format of the "traditional" band so they are genuinely unique (some have tried to follow what they do, none have come close yet) They have about 60 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre (thrash, djent, black, nu-metal, Prog, power/speed etc) and they will mix in so many different musical styles or genres with the metal (ska, folk, Bollywood, Latino, hip hop, rap, pop, dub step, trance and more), usually when you least expect it. As it happens you have started with a song that is a very long way towards the pop end of the BABYMETAL sliding scale. This was filmed at their live shows at the end of January but it has the studio audio ... the live audio has the Kami Band (their supporting musicians since early 2014 and for some shows and festivals since late 2012) adding more guitar and drum than is in the studio version. You have some good suggestions for more songs already - I will back up whoever suggested the Legend 1997 live 'Headbanger' (look for the video on abr metal channel), 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK, 'Megitsune' .... actually pretty much every song - but live, they are a live performance act and sound much better without the over-processing of the studio.
Thank you for reacting to these ladies, Jynger! I had heard of them, but so far never saw a video of them, so this was a very cool introduction and a lot of fun. I'll be seeing them live on May 3rd, when they are supporting Sabaton in Amsterdam. Looking forward to that!
I'll be there too, we have organized an after party for Sabaton and Babymetal (and probably Lordy) fans. This would not normally be the song to introduce someone to Babymetal... doesn't really show case what Babymetal can do. And my guess is they won't use that song in their setlist. Megitsune or Karate would be great, Road of Resistance, and then we can get a bit crazier: Headbanger and BxMxC. Or Mirror Mirror.

Thank you for the reaction. I think you will continue to be surprised by pretty much every new song you hear from them. I've never listened to a band/group before that is as diverse in their music style as BABYMETAL. They are one of a kind, Kitsune Up 🦊🤘
If you like good drums and guitar, check out Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro. It's a "solo" song with just the lead singer that also showcases the insanely talented backing band they tour with (the Kami Band).
Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 I'm glad to see new reactors getting into BM songs, you're arriving to a special era with more mature sound and a BM side we've never seen before. I'm gonna leave another suggestion in my next comment so you can check it out early BM era songs and clips safe to react but meanwhile don't worry about putting some filters in BM new singles, so far no one is reporting copyright blocked issues. BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute), mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms, they are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25 *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 23. *YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018. After that year you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them sing or have mic, they only dance, but that may change next month since they announced a new official member is coming. Love the J-pop sound and the nostalgic vibes mixed with the edm sound. Here's some info about this song: _"One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is "LIGHT AND DARKNESS" and this 4th pre-release digital single “Light and Darkness” centers around this theme. Because light exists, darkness also exists._ _And because darkness is present, there is also a world that shines._ _During the night when light and darkness intersect, what we seek after poisoned with darkness awaits a world filled with strong love. As the door opens, is it hope or despair that awaits us? MoaMetal once again adding the backing vocals and all of them dancing with the full trio formation. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Nice reaction. Welcome to the Foxhole 😁 you already been giving lots of great info, so i just say Karate at Download UK 2016 a festival the organiser said only the year before they would never appear at only to perform on main stage a year later . Great first reaction! 🤘🦊🤘Thank you for giving BABYMETAL a chance. BABYMETAL started back in 2010 and have performed with, toured with, or opened for Metallica, Korn, Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Dragonforce, Guns N' Roses, Lady Gaga, Rob Halford of Judas Priest (there's a great youtube video of their performance with Rob at a metal award show), and Red Hot Chili Peppers (there is a youtube video of them performing Gimme Chocolate with RHCP, as well as with Korn, and DragonForce), to name a few of many. They have performed at large metal events/concerts in front of 65,000+ skeptical metalheads in Europe (Glastonbury, Download, Sonisphere, etc), US, and Asia. Plus the 20+ awards they have been given. They have 50+ songs and each one is different from the other, so I hope you give the other songs a try. By the way, they have some really great heavy songs too, and I hope you like guitar solos, as well as bass and drum solos, like I do, because they have them too.🤘🦊🤘
Your Trailor Park Boys poster earned a like from me before you even spoke, I hope you check out more from this band they will surprise you in a good way every time
Babymetal goes long way, back to 2012, featuring 60+ songs in various metal subgenres. The more dancier ones includes this, DA DA DANCE, or PA PA YA. The more old school ones include AKATSUKI, ROAD OF RESISTANCE, or RONDO OF NIGHTMARE. The more "Babymetal" ones perhaps include MEGITSUNE, DOKI DOKI MORNING, or CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. A lesson we all learned is that no Babymetal song is the same, we simply just can't define Babymetal from one song :)
@@MarkSpohn77 It's always best to start at the beginning to see how they've progressed over the past decade. Otherwise going back and forth between albums/years can get confusing, specially when Yui was a member then skipping to a song she isn't part of.
BABYMETAL began in 2010 as the "Heavy Music Club" sub-unit of the school themed idol group Sakura Gakuin. They became an independent group in 2013 when Su graduated from Sakura Gakuin on March 31st..
Great reaction as always. I'm glad you didn't start with what most reactors do (Gimme Chocolate) - but this isn't a typical Babymetal song - it's one of their very few that you would expect to hear on the radio! I remember saying to you a couple of times how Nightwish and Babymetal got me through some pretty bleak times during lockdown - and also that I wouldn't steer you wrong ,ie Nightwish, Lovebites, Unleash the Archers, Sabaton etc - Babymetal ARE the real deal - I have tons of songs to recommend which I'm sure will have already been mentioned in the comments no doubt. I'm very fortunate to be going to see Babymetal here in London at Wembley Arena on the 15th of April who are special guests of Sabaton (I will report back to you) 😃 - the last time I was there was for Nightwish back in November. As always, take good care of yourself my friend 😊
This is one of their more recent and more poppy songs, they have an extensive catalog and most are a lot heaver than this in terms of the music. I hope you check out some more from them!
A pretty laid back song from Babymetal as they can be very heavy indeed. Gotta recommend...all their live videos, the entire back catalogue and everything they've done. A deep rabbit hole (or, more accurately for Babymetal, a Fox Hole) to dive down but always an interesting and fun fall!
Nice reaction 😊. BABYMETAL last album is called The Other ONE and is quite different from their previous works, it's a concept album and to a degree, it features a coherent sound all along, especially in its central core, though one of the distinctive features of BM is still there 100%: they're really unpredictable, it's always as being on a roller-coaster. Indeed, if you try Mirror Mirror you'll see yourself 😅, but yeah, the album listened from the beginning to the end, is way more coherent than their previous ones. This project dates back to November 2010, it was a subunit of an Idol group called Sakura Gakuin, it's a bit complicated, to make it short, in 2013 they became independent and under the lead of their producer Koba, the main vocalist Suzuka Nakamoto AKA SU-METAL, and the two dancers MOAMETAL (Moa Kikuchi) and YUIMETAL(Yui Mizuno) became a world phenomenon, basically starting almost from scratch, their first venues had like few hundreds people, no real musicians, only backtracks. They are focused on live performance, mixing dancing, the strong and emotional singing by SU, the funny, yet heavy moments with MOA and YUI as Black BABYMETAL, and the music played by the Kami Band. Unfortunately between 2017 and 2018 YUI had to first stop performing and then give up on her career due to health issues, so they went through different phases, trying to find a new balance. So, If you check their previous stuff, you'll find songs completely different one from the other, though all with a very distinctive sound, from Megitsune to YAVA!, from Karate to From Dusk Till Daw, Amore, Catch Me I f You Can, Rondo of Nightmare, Sis.Anger etc. One thing you can be sure, you hardly can find anything boring 😅 🤘🦊⚡️
Like other commenters have mentioned BabyMetal is very diverse. The next song you hear could be a totally different.genre but it will always be excellent and hit straight to the heart.
Babymetal are the originators of Kawaii (cute) metal, but this song is from their new concept album which is meant to be a departure from the path they have been on for the past 13 years. So even though it’s a good song, it really isn’t a very good example of what you would hear in the rest of their discography. Megitsune, Karate, Headbanger, Road of Resistance or Ijime Dame Zettai would be better songs for a small sample. I hope to see more BM reactions.
Listening to Babymetal, IMO, start with a fun song first. I will recommend “PAPAYA”. If you like it, then digging in more fun song. If you enjoy all the fun songs after hearing them, and you like to dig in more Babymetal "Fox god kingdom fairytale", the fans will recommend which and explain why to you. To me, I see each Babymetal song as a chapter of the fairytale. Just like a book, every chapter has its purpose in the whole story, some build-up chapter could be boring or less interesting while some could bring me excitement. I am pretty enjoy it so far.
Thanks for doing this one. Their songs go all over the map of metal. Be sure to go back in their history and watch Headbanger and Death from the Legend 1997 concert. You'll see why they took over the Japanese metal scene at the time. It was done in 2013 when Su-Metal was turning 16.
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were only 10 when the group began. All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life the girls would learn and train to be idols and graduate at age 15 to move onto whatever entertainment path they chose. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues) and Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). Suggest reacting to BabyMetal LIVE as this is where they shine. They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Suggest reacting to these for a start. Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls. Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan Megitsune LIVE Catch Me If You Can LIVE with Kami Band intro It is rumored that in their April 1 concert in Yokohama that a permanent third member will be announced (odds on favorite is Momoko Okasaka who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019). The new album in my opinion is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again.
I know you love some machine gun kicks and heavy guitars so you would really enjoy their song BxMxC! They use ridiculously low and crunchy 9 string guitars on that song and it goes HARD.
This is from their latest album which is pretty damn good. If you view BABYMETAL through the lens of “performance art” as opposed to a “real band” you can appreciate what they are doing more, I think. Su has an excellent voice and the whole performance is usually just an epic visual me auditory experience. They are also worth following through their history as they have something brilliant on every album.
Ohhhh, Jynger! This is your first look? Well we have such sights to show you! I agree, though, that this isn't the best example of how HEAVY these girls normally roll and how unique they are. I'm a little behind, but if you follow the suggestions from the others, I'm certain you won't regret it. 🤘🦊🤘
Hi, and nice reaction. I'm going to go on a guess and say you're into metal based on your decor lol That being said, this is probably one of their more "poppy" songs (they like to experiment a lot with music). That being said, you said you're a sucker for drums. I know autohmae recommended Karate, and I'd agree with him, but I'd also highly recommend Road of Resistance Live in Japan Official to get a nice treat with your drums, it also showcases more the more metal (Speed or Powermetal, very much like Dragonforce as they helped make the guitar riffs for this song) side of Babymetal. That being said, this new song DOES showcase how much Su-Metal's (she's the main vocalist) voice has matured and grown since they started performing as the band Babymetal in 2010 when she was only 13 years of age. If you'd like to see what they were like at that time, look for the song Doki, Doki Morning. Look for the oldest version you can find. You'll be able to compare how Su was then vs now. I'll tell you though, even though her voice has matured and grown since then by a lot, I think you'll still be very surprised just how powerful and clear her voice was even back then. Anyhow, very much looking forward to seeing you react to Babymetal more. Lastly, since you said you love drums, I'd also HIGHLY recommend you react to TOOL's song Pneuma Danny Carey Drum Cam version, as this way you can watch the Drummer Danny Carey in all his glory.

Oh dear, just two reactions will not do. Unlike almost all other bands, BabyMetal is completely unpredictable. It’s time for you to look/listen to things like Megitsune, Awadama Fever, Catch Me if You Can, and even Death (if you are feeling strong). You haven’t even scratched the surface here.
nice reaction. for me the two new albums is not the right way entering " BABYMETAL Universe " for the first time , it could be better if you start from their 1st or 2nd album when the girls are Su , Yui and Moa.

BABYMETAL🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
Great reaction🤟🦊🤟
One thing you can be sure, you hardly can find anything boring 😅
🤘🦊⚡️
Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan
Megitsune LIVE
Catch Me If You Can LIVE with Kami Band intro
It is rumored that in their April 1 concert in Yokohama that a permanent third member will be announced (odds on favorite is Momoko Okasaka who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019). The new album in my opinion is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.
Thank you for reacting to BM !
Nice to see a reaction that doesn't rely on screaming/overacting at the camera and posting a misleading/melodramatic thumbnail.
Good job. 👍
more babymetal. i wanna see them melt your brain like they did mine. subscribed for more :) the whole catalogue is worth it promise
Ohhhh, Jynger! This is your first look? Well we have such sights to show you! I agree, though, that this isn't the best example of how HEAVY these girls normally roll and how unique they are. I'm a little behind, but if you follow the suggestions from the others, I'm certain you won't regret it. 🤘🦊🤘
This one is now in my top 5 most favorite songs by this band ❤
Nice reaction and pure sis 👍👍
Next one you should do: Mirror Mirror
You say "pretty good"but i can say thay are one of the most havy sounding metal bands there is and i have seen a lot but BabyMetal is on top of my list to seen them live !!!

🤘🏼🌗🤘🏼
Metalizm,Pa Pa Ya live with F Hero
Not maybe the best introduction - but do do more :D
Try "Elevator Girl".... Quick little jamming 3 minute song if you are pressed for time.
Onedari Daisakusen is also really good along those lines
Oh dear, just two reactions will not do. Unlike almost all other bands, BabyMetal is completely unpredictable. It’s time for you to look/listen to things like Megitsune, Awadama Fever, Catch Me if You Can, and even Death (if you are feeling strong). You haven’t even scratched the surface here.
初見の人にはMiss take な選曲です!
nice reaction.
for me the two new albums is not the right way entering " BABYMETAL Universe " for the first time , it could be better if you start from their 1st or 2nd album when the girls are Su , Yui and Moa.
Iine👍️
Hot AF and Babymetal are awesome too🤘😍🤘
いつも楽しく拝見してます🇯🇵
Thank you for reacting to BM!!!
