Your beautiful response to this video inspired me! Here's a brand new video about what I learned from Batman v Superman. And from YOU. th-cam.com/video/OuFHAZ1eAaY/w-d-xo.html
I fully Agree with your Thoughts. I'm Really Surprised that BvS Touched your Heart Emotionally. This Movie is also My Favorite Beside Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, Godzilla King of the Monsters and King Kong 2005. I'm also Looking forward to Zack Snyder's Cut of Justice League Called "Justice League: Director's Cut" and I hope you are. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut
i read this on twitter: nephew: superman saves batman. me: of course, he sacrificed himself to kill doomsday. nephew: no, he made him good again.. funny how the so called "critics" could not see what a 7 year old kid could see....
+Alejandro Ramirez +Alejandro Ramirez well, that blame does not solely belong to Snyder. WB did not want the movie to be as long as 3 hours, which could account for it being confusing as you claim it to be
In my opinion when CLark says Martha... Bruce sees not a friend, or an Allie (like you said), but actually sees himself, as that 8 year old boy crying for his mom... Bruce realizes that he's actually about to murder himself.... Hence the insane looking around he does... I think I'm that instant, Bruce was 8 years old again.... That's what I saw atleast.. Great review though, nice to see someone who loved this at much as I did.
+Tom Rice Well said! I can understand why some may not have liked this scene, but I thought it was very powerful. In Bruce's POV, he's always seen Kal as a powerful alien, and a powerful alien only. That's the main theme within Snyder's take on Superman, which is that the world has an issue with humanizing him. But what MoS cemented was that Kal is a human first, then Kryptonian second. Bruce was filled with so much hatred, that he was blinded. We all know Batman is one of the smartest comic book characters out there, yet his hatred for Kal blinded him to an extent that he failed to realize he got played by Luthor. The second Lois came by Kal's side protecting him, along with Kal mentioning his mother's name, the realization came instantly to Bruce. It wasn't "omg our mothers have the same name!", but more so that in that instant and for the first time, Bruce actually humanized Kal. Not only did he realize he has a mother that he loves, but that there's also a girl that loves him enough to protect him. Now, Snyder could have spent 2-5 mins with some exposition explaining this with Bats and Supes talking, but instead you can clearly see it in Bruce's facial expression what he has just realized. He realized that he got played by Luthor, and he realized that everyone in the world has their "Martha", even Superman. And that's what I love most about Snyder's BvS, it's by no means perfect and even that "Martha" scene could have been done better, but Snyder tackles a lot of things that may feel jumbled and out of place, but if one takes a little time to analyze certain scenes, maybe the movie gets better for you.
+Tom Rice I thought the same thing - I have more to add though, at that moment Bruce is also forced to relive that very traumatic experience as the murderer, especially with the straight parallels of Lois throwing herself in front of the weapon (a la what Martha did), and with Clark, on the verge of death, is only thinking of someone he loved - exactly the same as what Thomas Wayne did, by saying the same thing Thomas did: "Martha". It's a straight parallel. I can't understand why people didn't realize that, but I wasn't exactly satisfied with the execution of the scene either.
+Audreyna Putri Exactly, I forgot to put that.. not only is he about to murder himself... but he's actually become the things he's sworn to fight... the thing that ruined his world... I too can understand why the scene is getting trashed... it's very easy to say "MARTHA" their mothers have the same name???? That stopped their fight? HAHAHAHAH... most likely haters, or Marvel fanboys... But if you consider how deep the Martha situation is in the context of the film... and how deep it is for Bruce Wayne in particular...you would realize how amazing it is... I mean he is one of the richest men in the world, yet he chooses to dress like a Bat, fighting crime, because of his parents Thomas, and MARTHA being murdered in front of him, he's never lived a happy day in a his life since that moment... and now he's foolishly about to kill an "alien" because he thinks it could be the final, and only thing he ever did that matters... to then REALIZE that Superman is actually isn't an alien (seconds before murdering him)...but actually he's the same as him... They can hate all they want, it's amazing to me, and a perfect way to earn their "brotherly respect" from the comics. Also, the MARTHA moment, ONLY stops Bruce.... The only thing Superman took away from the Martha situation is "this psycho doesn't wanna kill me anymore... he wants to earn my respect? He is a good guy" Which i love.
+bungi fish I love BOTH Supes and Bats, but my loyalty lies towards the boy scout. So, I was kind of upset when they had Bats beating up Supes. But when Batman said THAT to Supes, it didn't matter any more. I love both of these guys. Nice movie! Can't wait to own it forever on Blu Ray.
I find it sickening that reviews bashing Batman v. Superman get more views and likes than the people praising it. Even comments saying "This movie sucks" get more likes than "This movie was awesome." You sir deserve millions of views and subscribers. Snyder was right. We live in an age where negativity gets more attention than positivity.
Joshcoshbagosh People were hating on this movie ever since it was announced. The film never got a fair chance. If people and critics went into this movie with an open mind, then it would have been better received.
Negatively is more easier than Positive for people on the Internet it makes me sad that some people don't realize what's in front of them they find corny one liners and jokes forced in They hate movies that have heavy themes and real life problems that apply to today and they're not patient on the development of characters
Thanks everyone! I am so honored by your comments. Thank you for seeing my heart & allowing me to be vulnerable with you. I hope this video inspires the superhero in you! And check out our website for more inspiring films: www.RisingHero.org. - Brett
+The Rising Heroes Project my mindset behind the reason bruce stops when he hears martha was that that name is the emotional trigger for him and that makes him realize, hey if this guy has a mother like me, that he is begging me to save, and not begging me to let him live, then maybe he isn't so different. maybe he is a good guy, or at least can be a good guy. i LOVED your mindset behind it. i didn't even think of it that way but it makes so much sense. i feel like both of our mindsets, even combined together. make that moment so much more powerful.
+The Rising Heroes Project Wow man that was truly Brilliant. This movie is probably the most important movie in my life right now, specifically because of the 'Martha' scene. That scene will continue to give me tears every time I watch it. I couldn't have said it better. Thanks a lot. This movie is made with Heart, truly.
+The Rising Heroes Project Thank you for posting this video. I felt I was in the few that actually understood the themes of this film especially the two particular things. The bat vortex where Young Bruce is lifted is symbolism. Even, Bruce's narration says they brought him into the light. It is not more a dream sequence but Bruce's own retelling of his experience. HIS experience of what happened of him coming out of the darkness. The other issue is of Superman. I see many say Superman is a dick. He is joyless. This is not "My Superman". He is supposed to be a beacon of hope. Yes, and he STILL is in this film. However, it shows Clark's/Kal-El's humanity. This film paints Superman as a God Messiah figure, yet, it also shows Superman does hurt. His feelings are hurt. The world does not want his help. That montage scene of Superman saving lives and figures questioning whether it is right for Superman to step in. Also, it shows that Superman embraces his alien roots. I read an article about a Muslim aligning with the characterization of Superman in this as an outsider. He is American but yet he is not. Finally the attack at the Senate, Superman understands that "You know what, if you do not want me, I will not interfere." He obeys Humanity's wishes until he is world is threatened. That being Lois and his mother. You choked me up when talking about our mothers. "Martha does not die tonight" is a KEY point of dialogue from Batman. Their grievances are gone. It pains me to see how people are sharing memes of this moment without realising the impact of this. Thank you for making this video again and more importantly understanding the themes presented in this film.
You gave a fantastic explanation as to why this movie truly is quite beautiful. People just have to think about it more. That's the biggest problem. People just didn't understand this movie.
+Michael G t first he was afraid because he’s thinking: oh oh, how much does Superman know? And then Lois says Martha is Clark’s mother. And in that moment Bruce had his realization: Clark is human. he's just like me! and he'll become the very thing i fear if he loses those anchors. just like i have...what have i become?I’ve heard critiques that Bruce’s sudden turnaround makes no sense. But it’s really that the movie doesn’t bother to hold our hands through Bruce’s reasoning. On the second, more subconscious level: this is where Superman turns into Clark, where the god turns into a man with motivations as strong and good as Bruce’s own.
+WilliamGeesdorf I never said I didn't accept different opinions. Also, this isn't an excuse, it is a fact. Of course the movie is not perfect. And I completely understand why people would dislike it. But there are parts in the movie that people laughed at and that some readers didn't. The Martha scene between B and S, for example, was ridiculous for those who did not know about this fact (I agree that the importance of the name was not well presented). The movie was too broad, unfortunately, and only those who have a "higher" knowledge of the characters or the story behind the movie, can have a better understanding and apreciation from this artwork. Or I could be wrong (Yes, I agree that they should have made it more understandable for those who are not familiar with this universe). Not looking for an argument here buddy but that is what I meant by using Martha Kent's quote What is done is done, and who knows, maybe people will appreciate the next movies to come a little more now that WB and Zach know what the mass population dislike about this movie. Please feel free to answer. Cheers
+WilliamGeesdorf I think its like this guy in the video said; they dont want to let go of the superman & batman they know. They want these two characters to be perfect from the start. When all they did was put the characters in todays world, what they're doing with them is giving them character arcs. batman and superman both have problems but they eventually help each other out to become what fans want them to be.
Tommy Cipriani They reshot many scenes, added new ones just to make it lighter and funnier. And it very much shows which scenes are Whedon's. They changed the ending, cut Luthor, Deathstroke and Iris. The score is at best mediocre, while MoS and BvS had brilliant ones. Two post-credit scenes were added, even though Snyder hates the idea of it. If you watch JL mainly as a comic fan, those changes are not unwatchable, I guess. But when you just want to get another Zack Snyder film, and DC just makes for an amazing combination... then JL becomes much worse than MCU.. it becomes a mess created only by wanting to get more money out of it.
@Nr1SupermanFan 1. They didn't reshoot many scenes, the cast confirmed they only had 2-3weeks of reshoots and these are reshoots that Zack himself wanted. 2. *Spoiler***Spoiler***Spoiler* Lex and Deathstroke are in the movie, People who have seen it said so. 3. People who have seen the movie even Snyder haters have said it's a Zack Snyder film through and through, there's some Joss Whedon in the dialogue but even before the tragedy Zack specifically brought Joss in to work on the dialogue because he thought Joss dialogue was good 4. I can assure you Zack was the one who wanted the post credit scenes and shot the post credit scenes, you'll understand when you watch the movie. When did Zack say he hates the idea of post credit scenes. 5. Stop being a pessimist and watch the film to see if you like it
I applaud you. I already thoroughly enjoyed this film, but this review has given me a whole new appreciation, and complete emotional attachment, to this film. Thank you.
The Martha scene is simple, it shows flashbacks to his parents getting killed because the moment he realises their mothers have the same name he also realises that superman has a family. This then puts him in the position of his parents killer. He starts to question whether he can take superman away from his family just like his family was taken from him. You can also see this because he says " Martha will not die tonight". Meaning that he could not save his mother but he has the chance to save Claris mother, it's a sense of closure for batman. This scene has so much meaning and it just goes over everyone's heads.
except people make a joke about it like oh hey we have the same mothers name now were friends......superman was helpless and needed batmans help and batman has a flashback when his parents death wishing he can save them....and thats when he became the batman again promising superman that martha wont die tonight
Spoiler comment *Many people say that the "Martha" thing isn't good but please hear me out. You have to look at it from Bruce Wayne traumatized mind. Nolan trilogy put the spotlight on Thomas Wayne and his influence on Bruce. This new storyline puts Martha as the beloved of the family. Thomas Wayne's last word: "Martha", Bruce visiting his parents tomb but only starring at his mothers(convenience but also showing us the love for his mother). Honestly, every man and boy around me have so much love for their mother that this scene almost made them cry. It's a subtlety but a strong one that throws batman to the trigger of his problems, the core of his journey. He then realizes through this really personal part of his life that Superman Clark Kent is just like him, a son about to lose his mother. He also realizes how far he is from the noble fight, how he was manipulated, how his emotions blinded him. I was personally raised in a tradition where mothers are really dear to everyone and I found it really moving and powerful. In my native country, people don't say "please" we say "may God bless your parents". A friend of mine once told me: "I would die right now to let my mother live one more minute". It's not childish, it's not stupid especially when you understand how dear it is to the character.
+Dr. Dhoom The thing is Batman did'nt want to kill Superman because he thought he was evil. Evidences were there to prove he wanted to help. Batman just thought, despite that, Superman was far too dangerous. So realizing Sups had a mother (one thing he KNOWS because he talks about it less than 2 minutes ago) should'nt change anything.
+CJ Rocky no. he was shocked when superman said it. that name will always be a trigger in batman. so when superman said it batman was surprised superman would bring that up. when it is revealed superman is talking about his mother batman realises this alien is "human". he has a mother who is in danger. he realised Lex played him.
Thank you for articulating the brilliance of this movie. I think what gets me most about this film is how Superman saves Batman by pleading for someone else’s life with what should be his dying breath. He’s about to be killed and he doesn’t plead for his own life, he pleads for Martha, his mother. And Batman sees this and it completely changes his perspective on not only who this man before him is, but also with who he himself is. It is Superman’s value in human life that wakes Batman up. With all that was going on by this point of the movie it is so complex but it all is there. It is one of the most amazing moments in all of film. The thought of it brings me to tears. The fact that Superman’s mothers name was also Martha was a bit of a dog whistle for Batman to help him wake up out of his blind rage. Pure brilliance.
we needed to see the death of Bat's family again to make the connection of the name of the mothers. so many ppl criticizing the mother connection as a stupid way to end the fight, but arent looking at the bigger picture. batman was able to brutalize superman the way he did because he saw him as an alien. the simple thing of a shared name allowed bruce to see superman as clark....a man. it was a big deal and one that i loved. the issue is that this movie isnt a disney romp and requires you to look deeper and think. people dont like to do that nowadays. they just want a live action cartoon.
VHB Engines to me it wasnt the name that changed batmans mind but its when Louis says its his mothers name and that this person who batman sees as alien threat is actually so human that he has a mother and he(superman) is willing to beg for the person whos about to kill him to save his mother at which point batman relised his mistake and can see superman for what he is
Joshcoshbagosh it clearly was, almost objectively was, but if big enough fan to look past all that and enjoy batman and superman onscreen, then fine with you
Wow. This is the most accurate review I have seen of this movie. I find it really sad that people are making jokes about this scene. It's a very powerful scene, but the emotions behind the scene aren't spelled out for the audience. Many people are missing the depth of this movie, and this scene. All they are seeing is Bruce becoming friends with Clark simply because of the shared name, end of story. They are missing so much of this scene. When I see people downplaying this scene, I will be pointing them to your video. And if they still hate the scene, then in my opinion they've simply made the decision to hate this movie and nothing will change their minds.
Brett's comments about this moive was so powerful, and I think he is someone who definitely gets the movie on the type of deep level that it was meant to have. When you see superman save the girl, and see the montage of him saving people, I looked over at my girlfriend, and she was in tears. It was so beautiful. This moment, and also the one where superman talks to his dad, got me crying. He asked his dad if the nightmares ever stopped. And he answered when he met his wife. This touched me on a personal level. Also when superman briefly talks to lois, and then flys off saying no one can stay good in this world, I was also caught off guard emotionally. I LOVED this film, and it's so refreshing to have something that has very deep meaning to it, and that is very reflective on our global state.
The moment Batman realises that Superman's mother name is Martha he finally realises that Superman is a human at the end of the day. Superman is begging Batman to help save his mother which shows that any person who cares so much about his mother cannot be a threat to humanity. That was the most pivotal element of the movie.
This has literally made my day. The whole point to Superheroes is to inspire us to be better people and make this world a better place. "Why do we fall...so we can learn to pick ourselves up again!"
It's amazing when a kind-hearted person gives his/her perspective on things. It makes me hopeful and reminds me that all of us on this planet are actually family. It's something we forget or choose not to see. But we're all relatives. And just by simply knowing that, we're able to allow ourselves to feel the obligation to help lift each other up. We have to learn to acknowledge it.
Watching a person who comprehends Batman v Superman as much as I do, completes my day... There are no words how happy I am to watch this video. For me, everything you said was perfect. You are the silver lining.
:) it’s a genius work of art. A film that feels as if it were an Ancient Greek tragedy taking place on our silver screens. The age old tale of God versus Man, leading to the realization that life is more than our differences in power or righteousness. In the end, we all have imperfections, but there exists common ground through which we can share our pain with others and look past imperfection.
Zack & the crew should see this This dude really has a good heart for real, not that egotistical good heart, but pure good heart, I only never noticed all the things he was talking about, thanks bro, Now I can watch the movie, not with an open mind, but an open heart :)
+Dedrick Mogatusi Ray Fisher (Cyborg) Has seen it! he shared it on Instagram in response to the critics and the haters and that How I found this video! Thanks Cyborg!
Honestly I felt like I was the only one who cried when batman stopped in shock when he heard his mothers name. I'm so glad there's some of us, no matter how small of a bunch we are, that felt such emotion seeing him hear his mothers name.
Because as he was facing death, the life Superman was begging for was not his own. It was for the life of another. And THAT was the catalyst of the change in Batman. And in return, the willingness Batman showed to put helping his mother above his own vendetta, was the catalyst for change in Superman. We need to understand, that the subtitle of Dawn of Justice. It is always darkest before the dawn. And Dawn also means beginning. The beginning of both of them reaching their ideals(Justice), not just with one another, but THROUGH one another.
+James Biggins the scene was idiotic. batman stood there and did fuck all while wonder woman did all the real fighting. superman couldnt swim with the kryptonite staff and lois had to throw it away from him in order for him to even function.. but hes able to fly off with it mere seconds later, WTF? they could have had batman give the staff to wonder woman since she was already having no trouble cutting doomsday up and he was running around like a little bitch anyway. he put himself in the position of "facing death" when it couldve been solved a number of ways. im almost convinced wonder woman couldve just killed doomsday by herself..
Andres Chiluisa because i found a huge hole in the movie im a douchebag? ok. this is why they dont give a fuck about the quality, you fanboys let them get away with this bullshit. you want this movie to be better than it was and will ignore all problems.
+Andres Chiluisa Dont mind him. He's the type of guy who is still so hung up on the plausibility of a film that has Clark's disguise being glasses and eyes that burn things, have x-ray vision, and telescopic purposing.
Thank you so much for making this video. This is 100% how I feel about this movie and I have been desperately trying to explain to people how perfect it was, but almost everyone I know hates it. Now I can just show my friends this video because you explain it perfectly. I've been struggling everyday to explain it to my friends, but I'm terrible with words and expressing how I feel. Once again, thank you for making this video.
+Travis Poirier Love seeing a deadpool fan who loves BvS! Let's end this Marvel v DC competition. We can like both Marvel and DC! Just tell your friend that the real CBM fans are those who like a good movie, not blindly follow one company or the other. simple as that. Great to see a marvel fan standing up for a good DC movie! #Truefan Represent Brother!
dave grol I love both Marvel and DC. I've watched every Marvel show and movie ever made. I'm still catching up with DC. Overall though, I think the DCEU is starting off better than the MCU. And the MCU isn't as impressive as people make it out to be. Some of their movies are amazing, but most are just mediocre. Where both DCEU movies were different and amazing in their own way.
The underlining message of this movie is what will give it longevity. While the "fun" and "lighthearted" style of Marvel quickly fades, movies like this live forever
Seriously, the first time Brett got choked up I thought I was going to cry like a school girl. I was right there with him. Amazing review, Brett. Really, I loved it.
Thanks for seeing the bigger picture of this movie. So many people are caught up on their personal ideas of what they think the movie should be that they can't get passed the little things. Great video man.
This is a very emotion-filled response from a filmmaker to "Batman v Superman". The movie touched him in ways that go beyond style or technique to how the characters related to each other and changed as a result of those relationships. If you've seen the film and haven't liked it, this man's perspective may help you see what you might see in a second viewing. If you already like the film, this may help you like it even more. I think his take on the film is brilliant!!!
+Steven Brant i got the same emotional feeling similar to him after the 2nd viewing. i wasnt satisfied in my 1st visit to the theatre because i knew there is something inside this movie that snyder is trying to tell..
This movie is like an addiction, I watch it every now and then to feel those emotions again and again, but definitely some of his views are heart touching.
+Raymond Ross incidently both the characters mother's name was Martha so it seems to be done intentionally to reflect a moment of familiarity, rather than go from what common sense dictates, and if that was the case we wouldn't be having super heroes in the first place coz that defies common sense. It's really amazing sometimes how ppl goes to technical overriding the whole narrative or at least the purpose of it. Comic is indeed entertainment that defies logic and common sense but prints of our imaginations and fantasy. The narrative is not always meant to go by the books. The idea of Batman beating up so many ppl and entering a fortress is ridiculous, even the world's best fighter would fail, but we swallow it wholeheartedly anyways coz it's entertaining and captures our imagination, however other times like these we are stuck up as to why real life law didn't apply.
Raymond Ross i see the valid arguments behind it that a person would most probably say my mom rather than her name, and im sure the numerous writers of the script were from planet earth and not aliens and notice just like us the most probable appeal from a person in need to save his mother as saying my mom is in danger rather than martha is in danger, however it seems apparent they did it intentionally to utilize a coincidence of both characters in the comic and raise a point of familiarity between the two and a change of perspective by batman who would think superman is just like him in a more convincing way. Saying My mother would've worked too, but it would seem using Martha a good angle to tap and lead to these many interpretations that we have today, with one perspective in the video above. Then u could go by another interpretation which came to my mind during seeing the movie, that batman was not able to save his mother Martha when he was small but had a chance to save superman's mother so it would be like an act similar to saving to saving his own mother. Going by sheer logic and rating comic publications by such scrutiny would lead all the comics to be panned, much more ridiculous things have happened in print than this one moment in the movie and those comics have received wide acclaim. It is so clear that this deliberation was not coz writers were dumb, the same writers who co wrote the dark knight trilogy but wanted to be creative and be multi dimensional rather than straight forward, however its sad many ppl will never see the purpose and beauty behind this altered dialog and will just be bent on ridiculing the intellect of the writers, i remember during my poetry classes, there were words misspelled just to create a rhyme and this was poetic freedom that poets had, if those poems were read by these same audience would've said the poet doesn't know english.
damn, that was beautiful man. i guess I'm one of the rare people that absolutely loved BVS. it was such a special movie. i feel embarrassed when its compared to the marvel movies, its jumped beyond the super hero genre, its definitely something special. There are a few movies that made me feel this way, Princess Mononoke really got to me, made me feel emotions and see the world kind of differently after watching it. Thats the best complement i can give BVS. Thanks for the video, exactly how i feel.
This movie along with MoS will age just as well as Excalibur. Marvel movies are fun to watch I really enjoy them but after one or two viewing I am done.
I also loved this movie, and clearly many people did, so can anyone tell me why WB considers this failure and wants to change their whole direction? They announced man of steel 2 and i fear they wont let synder direct it due to all the backlash of BVS. Is WB aware that many people liked this movie as well as hated it?
+ezwar99 It's ok. This film is anything but underrated despite the sold out negative reviews. Thankfully, there are still many people out there capable of critical thinking to know what this film has to offer and what it really was about. About what superheroes are all about and what they stand for, how they evolve and how they inspire us. Most Marvel movies have yet to reach that level of emotion or depth, they are just following a safe family friendly formula.
Maaaan, I cried with you, I totally resonated with your words and feelings with this movie, and this movie is totally deep, dramatic and teaches you something. I remember that one of the things as a little girl that impacted me was about the Batman Returns movie, had a lot of dramatic moments. Catwoman's fell down, the penguin's dramatic death, jeeez gives me the chills. This movie has brought that back since Batman returns for me. My Batman is back definitely, and I'm starting to love Superman. I was always a #TeamBatman girl, but hey I can be #TeamSuperman also, and I can't wait to feel #TeamWonderWoman :)
I did not expect what I got from this review. I think you didn't expect it either. I feel uplifted. But most importantly, I feel reminded that there are people out there who actually care. And who are so fearless in showing it.
This movie is so uplifting, It's about hope triumph against sadness and despair. Our heroes start at a very low point and by the end they raise, together as you said, very powerful. An emotional rollercoaster.
Michael G So everyone who believes it was a poorly done movie is a hater? How about you elaborate on the point your trying to make? I'm up for an honest explanation. You have Batman on the verge of killing Superman, but then because their moms happen to have the same, he stops? If their mothers had different names, would Superman have died? On the screen it appeared as such a terrible explanation. It encapsulates also how poor the transitions were in the movie.
the reason I love your review the most is not just because you can see the 'positive' aspects of the movie (while most people/reviewers/critics generally just only look or even intentionally seek-out for minor-detailed 'flaws/negative' of the movie), but it's also because you can see the much more DEEPER aspects (and thus the BIGGER-picture) of the film/movie. and unfortunately/sadly, in our world, there's NOT a lot of people/humans who have deep/in-depth, wise, & beautiful mind and heart like yours..! I really respect your take/perspective.. and yes I agree with many who said in the comments that there needs to be more people like you in our world/human's society.. we often quarrel, argue, & fight over just some small minor little & even insignificant things/matters in the grand scheme of everything,.. and yet forgetting perhaps some of the most (& deepest) important lessons/things in Life.. and you've reminded people about this fact really well, and beautifully.. thank you very much :) - from Indonesia -
this movie really touched me like no other movie has, i never expected it to do this way, i actually was trashing the movie before watching it. but man was I wrong, had to go watch it another time It showed mature concepts and characters who are struggling between their roles as heroes and ordinary men. definitely one the best movies i have ever seen.
After watching (and unreasonably still looking for) multiple BvS reviews, for more than a year, I have finally found home. This is a film, which reactions have really made me angry, dissapointed and now, heart-opened, because it reminds me of the amount of sheep audience that sits in the theatre, waiting only for more comfortable stories that rise emotions but do not challenge them. Now, it also reminds me that a guy like Zach Snyder (within his own tragedy), was able to keep this gigantic project alive with the spirit of narrating life differently, and making risks with dealing with emotions the way no one has done before on a superhero story (This clearly started with man of steel). I don´t know which superhero film can even handle the level of complexity that this film universe deals with, and that is why i believe it is so rejected... people reject what they don´t understand, we have known that for a very long time. Thank you Brett for sharing what millions of viewers have experienced. You are not alone.
no brother, you are not the only one who feels this way about this movie. I absolutely adore this movie and you have just so eloquently expressed how we all felt when we came out of the theater. thank you!
THANK YOU DUDE, CONGRATS, TRUTH, TRUTH, TRUTH, You're not alone, that film was too deep for the audience, ahead of its time, it meant people looking at where they placed their ideals, is it about winning in itself? nope its about true progress in winning hearts and working together to change things. You helped to remind me what's most important, regarding such issues, I support you fully in your endeavors you speak a lot of sense, nothing is ever light and fluffy, there is also a challenge we have to rise to, the path of least resistance isn't always the right one, I think this film demonstrates this fact, if it was just simply good vs bad that would be horrible and predictable film, so I'm with you on this one stay strong dude!!! Respect, Peace and Love
I loved this movie, and I mean I LOVED this movie. But god damn if you didn't just make me love it even more. I didn't catch the "Who are you" moment and god dammit I cried like a baby when you explained it.
This is the best review I've ever watched so far. This is why DC is catered to more mature minds, because they dont give audiences the usual plot friendly popcorn baby sitting that tutorials you through the whole movie. You have to have read the comics, seen the movies, understood their histories, and grown along side their evolution. This is why these characters have this effect on people, because they were a part of our childhood to adulthood and it's tapping on real raw emotions that were usually always depicted the opposite way in cartoons or movies. I think this is exactly how this universe should be portrayed, as dark, grim, treacherous, and that might be ultimately what people didnt pay to see. I really dont mind all the critics that hated it and the bandwagon haters following them, cause it made sense to me, and they should see your video if they need it explained to them like they were a 6 year old. You gave a definite and clear encapsulation of why it's still a better movie than all these other shallow, emotionless comic book characters that rely on humor to trick an emotion out of people. Let the haters have their fake cake and eat it too.
***** It just wasnt made for you I guess. As for the rest of us, we enjoyed it, appreciated it, and understood the message being conveyed. The movie and it's director make no apologies for not being the typical colorful, comedic, family friendly blockbuster for the masses, and I'm GLAD for it. Let Marvel make their fun, trendy movies, they are really good at it. Loved Guardians, Loved Ant-Man, but I can use a little bit more.... 2 of my favorite movies, Fight Club and Shawshank Redemption, bombed at the box office, god awful returns, but some would say those are really good movies...but it's not for everyone, not for families, not for the average movie goer, and I'm fine with that, cause I LOVED those 2 movies. Some people just didnt get the beauty of it, the art, the complex story telling, so just cause some critics didnt get the typical comic book movie they wanted, they get to call it bad? In a short while nobody will remember what the critics or haters said, we'll all just remember this movie happened, Batman and Superman kicked each others ass! WonderWoman's clash with Doomsday was epic! The Batman warehouse brawl was awesome! ....No, you shouldnt have to do prior homework for BVS, the rivalry has only been brewing for 75 years, which is how I mean, it just wasn't made for you.
+wildevil I'm sorry man but no. The Dark Knight was written for mature minds. Films like Birdman, Revenant, Pulp Fiction, Training Day etc those are mature mind films that deal with complex thought and emotion. Batman v Superman was poorly written and edited. Im a huge comic fan and grew up watching all DC animated shows. Shit, YOUNG JUSTICE is for mature minds. As a fan of DC I can't excuse them for this movie. It's was sloppy. We deserve better. Glad you liked it but don't insult people who know what a well paced film is supposed to look like.
This is why Batman v superman was perfect & why some didn't like it. what you've said hear said it perfect about the film. its why i loved the direction of the film.
Out of all the unnecessary poor reviews - This review looks at the "heart" of the film. That's what matters the most to me. That's what makes this movie different from most Superhero movies Thank you for uplifting my day
+Nicco Caruso Critics are just stupid in general. A film with genuinely good writing, action, and direction is surpassed by films like John Wick, which contain 0 substance and no payoff.
You're not alone. If the 2000 comments already posted haven't said it already, being a hero doesn't mean we don't fall. And being alone for a while doesn't mean it'll last forever. This was an amazing movie and thanks for sharing.
"You'll give earth...an ideal to strive towards...they'll race behind you...they'll stumble....they'll fall. But In time they will join u in the sun Kal"
Thanks for making this review. I felt the same way about many of these moments : ) I remember the very last thing his father on earth said, of should i say gestured before he died ( No, do not use your powers to save me. Do not let the people know what you can do ) That would play on Superman's mind constantly. Loved BvS.
Someone else who got it. The realization that they both love and have family. And even WW has her hope renewed after a century long hiatus. Shows how the Justice League are brought together in the face of hope. They're not avengers, but protectors.
+Ceger ZA And it was Superman's sacrifice that instilled hope to these characters, giving them meaning and reason to believe again in the world and themselves, which makes it so beautiful.
Seen the movie a second time and felt my heart pulling. Like you was in a state of mind the first time and the second time I saw this movie I started to see a clearer picture. Then your video came up. I just want to say I had tears and thank you for speaking from the heart.
I like when the two bums are fighting and Batman tells the black guy a fighting tip and then he comes back and wins the fight. Affleck is so cool as Wayne
You were able to articulate my feelings about this film that transcended the things I may have seen as weaknesses or things to pick apart. Thank you, this is exactly what I feel about this movie.
Is anyone else tired of people joking about the whole "Martha" thing? I get pissed every time someone makes a meme of it, because it's insulting to people who have the intelligence to understand the meaning of that scene and got legitimately emotional because of it.
+superherofan24 LOL, the "intelligence" to understand that scene, you mean the un-intelligence to think there is a deeper meaning behind it and to get emotional because of it? Seriously, this movie is a complete mess from it's pacing, to it's character development, to it's fight scenes, to it's logic, it's a completely fucked up movie. Also, Batman is way to intelligent to actually try to befriend Superman because their moms have the same name, and any other incarnation of Batman would recognize how trivial a reason that is for befriending someone. There are plenty of movies that actually incorporate a deep level of storytelling to it's narrative, this isn't one of them. Movies like Synecdoche, New York, Anomalisa, Her, The Holy Mountain, and Amour are films that all have legitimate substance, and a meaning much larger than what is presented in the movie. Saying Batman V Superman is a smart movie is like saying shit tastes really good because it kinda looks like chocolate, face it, you wanted to like the movie so bad you didn't pay attention to it's flaws. It's called the Placebo effect.
emers0n - Why the fuck are you here? I know it's flaws. Did I say it's a perfect movie? I'm just complaining about dumbasses like you not understanding the scene. People are able to interpret its meaning because it's literally show right in front of them. That's just my opinion and what you're saying is yours. I don't think they acted like friends either. More like allies.
+superherofan24 Because that's all he can point out just like the rest out there. The flaws but never even recognized the good parts of the film. You can really see the contrast of people who only focuses on the flaws and the people appreciated the good parts. I'm with the good parts.
+emers0n - WTF ARE U TALKING ABOUT WE ALL HAVE THE BRAIN TO CRITIC A MOVIE AND FIND FAULTS, IM SURE EVERY PERSON HERE DOES. WAT WE ARE SAYING IS THAT THIS MOVIE CATERS TO PEOPLE WHO CAN UNDERSTAND THE EMOTIONS IN THE MOVIE, SUMTHIN MARVEL MOVIES CANNOT DO, AND BYE THE WAY, DID U NOT WATCH THIS REVIEW, IF YOU DIDNT LIKE THE MOVIE THATS YOUR PERSONAL OPINION WHICH DOES NOT MAKE THE MOVIE SHIT IN ANYWAY, JUST AS HOW ME LOVING IT DOESNT MAKE IT PERFECT.
I may be slightly biased, but I loved every minute of the movie, and everything you're talking about in this video is why. I feel like I'm standing in a burning room of horrible reviews when BvS is mentioned, but in time I think people will see what you feel. I know I do.
Wow. I loved this movie before I watched this video. The way it set up future movies in the DC Extended Universe, the way it depicted a troubled Superman and Batman, etc. But after watching this video, I now realize an entirely new depth to this movie and I can't wait to see it again in May. Thank you
Thank you for actually paying attention when you watched the movie. Its clear that a lot of people weren't which is why they think its as bad as fant4stic or green lantern. Oh and apparently if you say that people didn't get it that makes you pretentious. God forbid a superhero movie tries to have interesting ideas, instead of just having quips and boring villains
+Ian Levinson thank you! i hate being called pretentious. idk where they were when the dark knight came out, at least this movie embraced the comic book-ness unlike nolan who wanted to be taken seriously so badly yet I personally couldn't because bale's character was more of a clown than the one he fought.
Thank you for the clear and understanding comments for the film. The problem with today's fanboys is they cannot relate the film is about the reality of the world.
That was the most emotional review I have ever seen. Now I must say I absolutely loved this movie through and through. I had already felt with great confidence being a big fan of Zack Snyder's work. 300 is on my top 10 movies of all time, as well is now Batman v Superman. I've so far seen this movie 3 times at the theater. The only thing that changes is that I grow to love this movie more and more as did my kids and remarkably my wife, who I have to say, sees movies in such a unique way it's a joy to now and then share that loved it moment. She specifically made the point of acknowledging how much more she enjoyed the movie the second time, which many other critics also experienced. I would like to say thank you for bringing out even more emotional energy to this story. My eyes swelled up when I first saw Batman make the connection that he and his mother have the same name and now hearing you remind me that same truth. That you and I have something in common with our fellow brothers and sisters. In whatever language we speak we all translate it to Mom. That was deep and I'm glad you spoke with vulnerability. It's refreshing in this day and age with all the hate on social media (in general)and overly spiteful criticism of a different approach on iconic characters. Thank you for inspiring me today. And keep speaking, you have a gift.
I didn't really need a comfirmation of my love for another Snyder's movie that I care about, but this gave me comfort into embracing it, in between all of the hate that has been poured on this motion pictures, of hollywood critics' whining that cannot see over their nose of what a downfall means for these kind of characters, if it's not by one of the directors in their favorites lists. But your review Brett, of not the flaws that everyone seems just stare at and oversize them with their magnifying preconceptions, but of the good that this movie can do to your heart if you would just listen and open yourself to it instead of yelling for the sake of being right, it gave it a new face, a even more beautiful one, it made compelled to even more empathize with these two broken man, who have had their world destroyed, in their own ways in their tender years. Thank You Brett, I hope to be Your Superman and for You to me My Batman. ps: the quote was "If You want to see a monument to Superman, look around you".
What an awesome video. I felt a little weird that I was getting a little misty-eyed while watching the film, especially since it seemed like everyone else was feeling the complete opposite. There are definitely things that WB and Snyder will need to change for his next film to make it more accessible for the audience, but I will continue to enjoy this wonderful film.
I love this movie, and this being your response after only seeing it once is awesome. I hated it when I first saw it. You made me cry dude. Batman/Superman mean so much to people, its so weird that their diehard fans couldn't deal with watching them go through hardships
To add on the symbolism of him falling in the beginning and how he felt that same thing in metropolis(Great writing, and well done sequence). I would like to point out that during that monologue he said something about how that fall, fell again. Basically saying after he fell, he fell again. Almost reaffirming exactly what you you said to the letter. It was almost to on the nose how you spotted that which made his motivations all the more layered. Glad you pointed that out. How good was that sequence by the way? The way the whole thing was shot beautifully and grounded. So when the kid fell, you really felt shocked and scared for the kid because of how he falls so abruptly. His facial expressions as he was falling, was great. He looked terrified. I really believed that kid was falling. Plus the whole scene with the bats bringing to the light was masterful imagery. Well done sequence all around.
Thank you. Not just for your heartfelt review, but for also reminding me that it's ok to be kind and help each other out. I think I kinda lost my way on that recently. So, thank you.
Four years ago, this video opened my eyes to the deeper meanings of bvs. Now that Snyder’s has the opportunity to reclaim justice league, I had to rewatch this video.
In what seems like an ocean of negativity surrounding this film you have lifted my heart and my head, restored my faith, and given me hope. Thank you for loving this film but also for sharing your heart. I hope I can one day do for you what you've just done for me.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for this post! I finally took myself to see BATMAN VS SUPERMAN today and I saw what you saw, felt what you felt, cried when you cried...I smiled and whispered Martha to myself when Diane Lane was kidnapped. There are SO many things I saw and felt in this film that made me think and feel from beginning to end, I don't know where to start....I got home a few hours ago and found a link to your video and shared it with a challenge on Facebook to the haters of the film. I could go on but all I wanted to say is, thank you...and I'd like to see your films. Take care
+Average Richbad the fact that you have a shot from CW makes this comment even better. Just shows that there's those who appreciate both Marvel and DC.
Wow, your thoughts are incredibly profound and beautifully genuine. I feel the exact same way as you do about this film. There is SO much heart, and such an important message, and I feel very frustrated that many critics seemed to miss that. As both a comic book enthusiast and a filmmaker myself, I feel that this movie was exceptionally well-made. I've seen it twice, and plan to see it again. Your video has inspired me to make one of my own to promote this film to those who have not seen it. Thank you for posting this!
Just briefly addressing your point about how people's expectations of Superman tend to centre around the "boy scout" model - that pretty much defines the very difference between Reeve's and Cavill's Superman. Reeve was supposed to embody an unattainable ideal of moral and physical perfection, adhering to a singular moral standard ("the American way") and judging all other moral standards by this reference. Cavill's Superman on the other hand, while being representative of physical perfection, is also representative of the struggle that we as human beings face to achieve moral perfection - he has no greater capacity to achieve this than any other person raised on Earth, but the expectations are put upon him to meet this standard nonetheless. He's expected to be a leader on a leash, which as you say is a by-product of the modern-day Facebook/Twitter culture - society's developing tendency to demand solutions from those in power while expecting to maintain control over them. One of the greatest problems with the Reeve-era Superman is that the unintended consequences of his actions are poorly examined. In one of the very few "morally ambiguous" choices he faced, he opted to go against Jor-El's command ("It is forbidden for you to interfere in human history") and there were no adverse effects from it. Likewise, when he abandoned his powers in Superman 2 to be with Lois, his decision is basically reversed at the flick of a switch to enable him to face Zod, again despite Lara's warnings. One of the greatest things about BvS in particular is that it shows that morality is not as black and white as people today seem to think it is. Superman does screw up from time to time because his capacity to assess the consequences of his actions is no better than that of a human being. He's a model for the human race in that he encourages us to learn from our mistakes and to not be discouraged from doing good in the face of unfair criticism, whereas Batman essentially serves as a cautionary tale about what happens when we do let ourselves be consumed by such acrimony and loss of self-confidence.
Exactly my thoughts about Superman, I've been sick and tired of repeating the same thing. Cavill's Superman is a god-like being raised with the morals of a normal everyday person. He has the same flaws and virtues as everyone else. How people can't grasp that is beyond me.

+jamyskis its like people want superman to be perfect from the start. Yet these movies are clearly showing him going through an arc just like Luke skywalker. he's changing as these films go on. I remember complaints about superman being too op, dorky, too much of a boy scout, little drama. Yet here and man of steel answered that and they're now complaining that its too mopey and dramatic! you can't win with these people. They just need to come out and say "i don't like superman, i don't want to and never will." i understand some fans of Chris Reeve want that superman back but we'll always have those movies. No ones replacing them. but that was in a time where things were different, and they had different intentions. They just took superman and put him in today's world and people today are very negative. They didn't make superman himself dark, its just the world around him is. He has to bring hope right? so what would the point be if everyone and everything around him was cheery and happy and fine?? its showing that he's making a difference. He does have conflicts, he can be hurt and he does struggle and have challenges. Being serious is not an issue. sometimes we as people have to face serious every once and a while. We can't just ignore them and expect them to go away.
Your beautiful response to this video inspired me! Here's a brand new video about what I learned from Batman v Superman. And from YOU.

Brett Culp man you should make a Godzilla documentary please respond.
Well, have ever envisioned an ass whoopin?
kids (1 : 50 not for the kids) means Marvel Fans ????🤣🤣
I fully Agree with your Thoughts. I'm Really Surprised that BvS Touched your Heart Emotionally. This Movie is also My Favorite Beside Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, Godzilla King of the Monsters and King Kong 2005. I'm also Looking forward to Zack Snyder's Cut of Justice League Called "Justice League: Director's Cut" and I hope you are. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut
change the title to: how i learned to love mediocrity
i read this on twitter:
nephew: superman saves batman.
me: of course, he sacrificed himself to kill doomsday.
nephew: no, he made him good again..
funny how the so called "critics" could not see what a 7 year old kid could see....
+koushik raja Holy shit, that's amazing.
+koushik raja whatch out for your nephew, because he has a brillaint and insightful mind!
It would be easy to find the meanings if they made it good!! lol So many scenes were cut that it is confusing.
+Alejandro Ramirez +Alejandro Ramirez well, that blame does not solely belong to Snyder. WB did not want the movie to be as long as 3 hours, which could account for it being confusing as you claim it to be
Viknesh Chandran It was still too long lol. They could cut the non important parts and add important parts that move the plot
+Tom Rice that was my thought as well
mm
"Dont worry, Martha wont die tonight..."-Batman
+bungi fish I love BOTH Supes and Bats, but my loyalty lies towards the boy scout. So, I was kind of upset when they had Bats beating up Supes. But when Batman said THAT to Supes, it didn't matter any more. I love both of these guys. Nice movie! Can't wait to own it forever on Blu Ray.
+championshehe123 Its a damn shame.... I agree with you.
Jedi Dark Knight it's not a shame. it made billions. so much BANK. dont cry for those who makes so much BANK
I loved that line.
I teared up when he said that 😢❤🙏
Someone talking positively about this film without being an aggressive fanboy, thank god!
It was a beautiful commentary ❤ I love passionate people who appreciate these films, stories like this man. God bless him 🙏
I find it sickening that reviews bashing Batman v. Superman get more views and likes than the people praising it. Even comments saying "This movie sucks" get more likes than "This movie was awesome." You sir deserve millions of views and subscribers. Snyder was right. We live in an age where negativity gets more attention than positivity.
***** Funny thing is, if I don't like Civil War as much as Batman v. Superman, people will call me a Marvel hating, DC fanboy.
Joshcoshbagosh People were hating on this movie ever since it was announced. The film never got a fair chance. If people and critics went into this movie with an open mind, then it would have been better received.
Negatively is more easier than Positive for people on the Internet it makes me sad that some people don't realize what's in front of them they find corny one liners and jokes forced in They hate movies that have heavy themes and real life problems that apply to today and they're not patient on the development of characters
agreed
@@Film_Fan24 Civil Bore is garbage! BvS is superior!
Thanks everyone! I am so honored by your comments. Thank you for seeing my heart & allowing me to be vulnerable with you. I hope this video inspires the superhero in you! And check out our website for more inspiring films: www.RisingHero.org.

And then
Lois says Martha is Clark’s mother. And in that moment Bruce had his
realization: Clark is human. he's just like me! and he'll become the very thing i fear if he loses those anchors. just like i have...what have i become?I’ve heard critiques that Bruce’s
sudden turnaround makes no sense. But it’s really that the movie doesn’t
bother to hold our hands through Bruce’s reasoning. On the second, more subconscious level: this is where
Superman turns into Clark, where the god turns into a man with
motivations as strong and good as Bruce’s own.
I went from hating this film to loving it in 18 minutes😳
+Hamza Hassaballa SAME.
+Hamza Hassaballa Really cool video, no doubt about that. But do you really need a youtube video to appreciate such a great superhero film?
Better late than ever. I just saw this video and boy I wish I had seen it much earlier to show other people what I think about BvS.

+William bab Instead of making excuses, you could learn to accept differing opinions.
+WilliamGeesdorf
I never said I didn't accept different opinions. Not looking for an argument here buddy but that is what I meant by using Martha Kent's quote
What is done is done, and who knows, maybe people will appreciate the next movies to come a little more now that WB and Zach know what the mass population dislike about this movie.
Please feel free to answer.
Cheers
William bab From what i read, there was many people with this higher knowledge who didn't liked either. What's the excuse for those?
+WilliamGeesdorf
I understand and I never said all of them would. Nothing can please everyone.
I'm sure Zack Snyder would love your review. It would inspire him to continue making these films.
James England I hope someone tweets this video to Snyder.
He tried making another movie like that... too bad they changed almost everything about his vision and turned it into MCU
@Nr1SupermanFan Suicide Squad tried to go the MCU route, Justice League will be better than MCU.
@Nr1SupermanFan
1. They didn't reshoot many scenes, the cast confirmed they only had 2-3weeks of reshoots and these are reshoots that Zack himself wanted.
2. *Spoiler***Spoiler***Spoiler*
Lex and Deathstroke are in the movie, People who have seen it said so.
3. People who have seen the movie even Snyder haters have said it's a Zack Snyder film through and through, there's some Joss Whedon in the dialogue but even before the tragedy Zack specifically brought Joss in to work on the dialogue because he thought Joss dialogue was good

*clarks
except people make a joke about it like oh hey we have the same mothers name now were friends......superman was helpless and needed batmans help and batman has a flashback when his parents death wishing he can save them....and thats when he became the batman again promising superman that martha wont die tonight
Well said

*Many people say that the "Martha" thing isn't good but please hear me out.
+AL K beautiful
+AL K It came across though like hes never heard the name Martha said to him before till now which is stupid
8th wonder of the world its gay as fuck tho
We as fans have been touched by this video, we now see the film in another way after this, we should try to do our best to get this video viral.
Agreed , I've already posted it on my Facebook page.
VHB Engines to me it wasnt the name that changed batmans mind but its when Louis says its his mothers name and that this person who batman sees as alien threat is actually so human that he has a mother and he(superman) is willing to beg for the person whos about to kill him to save his mother at which point batman relised his mistake and can see superman for what he is
also Bats realizing he was becoming the monster who took his parents from him.
Live action cartoon like BvS and JL right? They're comic book movies man
Prretty much, if Lois hadn't gone there, no more Superman. Batman was getting even angrier as to why say the name, Lois supressed that by explaining.
VHB Engines explained it perfectly 👌

+Edward Nygma Holy mother!
+Zed good thing BvS was not that
Joshcoshbagosh it clearly was, almost objectively was, but if big enough fan to look past all that and enjoy batman and superman onscreen, then fine with you
Zed its really not that objective. People just dont understand the movie
And if they still hate the scene, then in my opinion they've simply made the decision to hate this movie and nothing will change their minds.

it's a truly and sincerely feeling being share with us, and 99 peoples dislike this. what kind of people does that?
+Raphael Broetto Quoting Ma Kent in the movie here: "People hate what they don't understand."
As a Canadian. I love this movie besides King Kong 2005 and Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom.
I'm also Looking forward to Zack Snyder's Cut of Justice League Called "Justice League: Director's Cut" and I hope you are. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut
Zack & the crew should see this
This dude really has a good heart for real, not that egotistical good heart, but pure good heart, I only never noticed all the things he was talking about, thanks bro, Now I can watch the movie, not with an open mind, but an open heart :)
+Mohammad Ghachame I cried too, watched it three times now and cried every time.
Me 2 man. Me 2.
Because as he was facing death, the life Superman was begging for was
not his own. It was for the life of another. And THAT was the catalyst
of the change in Batman. And in return, the willingness Batman showed to
put helping his mother above his own vendetta, was the catalyst for
change in Superman. We need to understand, that the subtitle of Dawn of
Justice. It is always darkest before the dawn. And Dawn also means
beginning. The beginning of both of them reaching their ideals(Justice),
not just with one another, but THROUGH one another.
+That Anonymous Necro Kid stfu douche bag
Andres Chiluisa because i found a huge hole in the movie im a douchebag? ok. this is why they dont give a fuck about the quality, you fanboys let them get away with this bullshit. you want this movie to be better than it was and will ignore all problems.
+Andres Chiluisa Dont mind him. He's the type of guy who is still so hung up on the plausibility of a film that has Clark's disguise being glasses and eyes that burn things, have x-ray vision, and telescopic purposing.
+That Anonymous Necro Kid you didnt' find a hole, you MADE a hole. stop sensless bashing
Thank you so much for making this video. This is 100% how I feel about this movie and I have been desperately trying to explain to people how perfect it was, but almost everyone I know hates it. Once again, thank you for making this video.

Let's end this Marvel v DC competition. We can like both Marvel and DC!

dave grol I love both Marvel and DC.
+Travis Poirier I know how you feel bro.
Travis Poirier mee tooo...i love this fil so much
My favorite review of all time!
You're the definition of fan! I got a little emotional watching this video. I saw BvS twice and loved it!
The underlining message of this movie is what will give it longevity. While the "fun" and "lighthearted" style of Marvel quickly fades, movies like this live forever
+JWR197 I agree, there is something about DC films, they are divisive but their greater meaning lets them age like wine.
+JWR197 Live forever? Whatever you're smoking I want some.
WB will be trying hard to forget this movie ever happened
Bruce Wayne Gee.. no need to get abusive just because your movie sucks.
+Ray03 Well said !
I've seen BvS three times so far, and every time I teared up at the Martha bit and when Lois goes 'it's his mother's name!'.
+Raymond Ross It was an emotional resolution - small illogical moments often can bring people around.
+Raymond Ross depends on the person i know someone who doesn't call his father dad but by his name
+k-led Mohd yeah your right tell me more
Raymond Ross i see the valid arguments behind it that a person would most probably say my mom rather than her name, and im sure the numerous writers of the script were from planet earth and not aliens and notice just like us the most probable appeal from a person in need to save his mother as saying my mom is in danger rather than martha is in danger,
however it seems apparent they did it intentionally to utilize a coincidence of both characters in the comic and raise a point of familiarity between the two and a change of perspective by batman who would think superman is just like him in a more convincing way.
It is so clear that this deliberation was not coz writers were dumb, the same writers who co wrote the dark knight trilogy but wanted to be creative and be multi dimensional rather than straight forward, however its sad many ppl will never see the purpose and beauty behind this altered dialog and will just be bent on ridiculing the intellect of the writers, i remember during my poetry classes, there were words misspelled just to create a rhyme and this was poetic freedom that poets had, if those poems were read by these same audience would've said the poet doesn't know english.
this should go viral
+Sone Hun These things never go viral. People are fueled with hatred and rage.
+Animal Man so true. hate gets more attention than something positive
Ray Fisher linked this video on his Instagram
damn, that was beautiful man. i guess I'm one of the rare people that absolutely loved BVS. it was such a special movie. i feel embarrassed when its compared to the marvel movies, its jumped beyond the super hero genre, its definitely something special. There are a few movies that made me feel this way, Princess Mononoke really got to me, made me feel emotions and see the world kind of differently after watching it. Thats the best complement i can give BVS. Thanks for the video, exactly how i feel.
Your not a rare person, I loved this movie too! Everyone I know who's seen it has loved it to :)
You are not alone :D
By no means are you alone in loving this movie. I've seen it three times and get something new out of it every time.
It's been about 2 years since I've cried... You just brought about the end of that streak. Thank you.
for me is the most true bold CBM ever made
+Tysonescobar Marioescobar I concur.
I agree.
yes
+ezwar99 It's ok. This film is anything but underrated despite the sold out negative reviews. Thankfully, there are still many people out there capable of critical thinking to know what this film has to offer and what it really was about. About what superheroes are all about and what they stand for, how they evolve and how they inspire us. Most Marvel movies have yet to reach that level of emotion or depth, they are just following a safe family friendly formula.
+Tysonescobar Marioescobar cbm?
The Batman origin opening is really beautiful, who cares that some people don't want to see the origin again.
+Carls Sr. YEAH!! and personally it was the best wayne murder sequence ever made...It was very powerfull
I actually remember feeling emotional when Batman promised Superman he will save his mother. One of my favourite moments from the movie.
Respect to you man sharing your emotions. I deeply love BvS and don't think there will ever be a Superhero movie like it.
+Ala Rebelde The viewers start at a very low point also, and never get much higher unfortunately.
7HE W0LV3R!NE
Thats your opinion man, it doesn´t affect my experience at the theater, it was uplifting witnessing how my heroes rise at the end.
Ala Rebelde All I can hope is that the Flash is done justice.
I'm sure if both of our moms are named Martha, we can be besties, right?! :D
+7HE W0LV3R!NE stop being a fucking hater man. if you don't understand the more powerful thought behind it. then that's your problem
I really respect your take/perspective.. and yes I agree with many who said in the comments that there needs to be more people like you in our world/human's society..
we often quarrel, argue, & fight over just some small minor little & even insignificant things/matters in the grand scheme of everything,.. and yet forgetting perhaps some of the most (& deepest) important lessons/things in Life.. and you've reminded people about this fact really well, and beautifully.. thank you very much :)

Got a grown man bro breaking out the feels on a damn review bro, well said
this movie really touched me like no other movie has,
i never expected it to do this way, i actually was trashing the movie before watching it.
but man was I wrong, had to go watch it another time
It showed mature concepts and characters who are struggling between their roles as heroes and ordinary men.
definitely one the best movies i have ever seen.
Beautiful. I couldn't have said it better myself.
no brother, you are not the only one who feels this way about this movie. I absolutely adore this movie and you have just so eloquently expressed how we all felt when we came out of the theater. thank you!
Someone that understands the movie! Respect man, you have my undying respect!
+Simon Watson true
I think a good way to go into BvS is with this statement in mind: "This isn't Batman anymore and this isn't Superman yet"
I loved this movie, and I mean I LOVED this movie. But god damn if you didn't just make me love it even more.
I didn't catch the "Who are you" moment and god dammit I cried like a baby when you explained it.
The movie was definitely thought provoking and very emotional for me at a lot of points.
Let the haters have their fake cake and eat it too.
well written!
Yep. Agree. Fuck the critics and fuck the haters. This movie has depth and its amazing.
*****
It just wasnt made for you I guess.
*****
You have your opinion, I have mine. You dont get to lecture me on whats poor or good. Go watch your cartoons.
You made me want to watch the movie again in different vision
Not the only one. I LOVED this movie, and came to very similar conclusions that you have. Glad to see I wasn't the only one ;)
+Rantandreason You are far from alone.
Dude, you got me choked up. I'm seeing this movie again ASAP. Liked it the first time, HYPED for the second time. Thanks for sharing!
This is why Batman v superman was perfect & why some didn't like it. what you've said hear said it perfect about the film. its why i loved the direction of the film.
Out of all the unnecessary poor reviews - This review looks at the "heart" of the film. That's what matters the most to me. That's what makes this movie different from most Superhero movies
Thank you for uplifting my day
I wish all the critics could see this.
+Nicco Caruso I wish all the critics will never judge or rate any comic book movie again!
I felt the same way about many of these moments : )
I remember the very last thing his father on earth said, of should i say gestured before he died ( No, do not use your powers to save me.
You've put into words a lot of things I've been trying to relate to people online about this film. Thank You
Seen the movie a second time and felt my heart pulling.
This is beautifully spoken and right in so many ways
You were able to articulate my feelings about this film that transcended the things I may have seen as weaknesses or things to pick apart. Thank you, this is exactly what I feel about this movie.
best review ive seen, glad that smart people understand and like this great film,
This is the Review everybody missed... THANK YOU SIR!!
WAT WE ARE SAYING IS THAT THIS MOVIE CATERS TO PEOPLE WHO CAN UNDERSTAND THE EMOTIONS IN THE MOVIE, SUMTHIN MARVEL MOVIES CANNOT DO, AND BYE THE WAY, DID U NOT WATCH THIS REVIEW, IF YOU DIDNT LIKE THE MOVIE THATS YOUR PERSONAL OPINION WHICH DOES NOT MAKE THE MOVIE SHIT IN ANYWAY, JUST AS HOW ME LOVING IT DOESNT MAKE IT PERFECT.
emers0n - he realized he was about to become a killer. Just like the man who murdered his mother. That’s a good enough motive to stop
I may be slightly biased, but I loved every minute of the movie, and everything you're talking about in this video is why. I feel like I'm standing in a burning room of horrible reviews when BvS is mentioned, but in time I think people will see what you feel. I know I do.
Keep coming back to this video
amazingly honest thank you
+Ian Levinson
Exactly.
This is beautifully said and needs to go viral today!
You know, the more I think about it, the more I like this movie.
How did I miss this!
The part before where you said spoilers ahead was the best and fresh explanation of the theme BvS was about.
❤
So thank you for this video. I probably would’ve dismissed this video like everyone else back then.
Take care
THIS...IS...A REVIEW!! Finally someone with a real review, knowing the whole meaning of the movie
exactly
I agree!
+Average Richbad the fact that you have a shot from CW makes this comment even better. Just shows that there's those who appreciate both Marvel and DC.
Yes thank you
+Average Richbad
I agree.
