Great head to head. I haven't tried the Ultrafly 5 yet but I have/had 4 pairs of the 4's and love them, very excited to get the new update. I have been able to try on the Experience Form and sadly just to narrow, toe box was a let down and doesn't look like they are offering a wide version. I have also able to try on the trail version of that shoe, the Experience wild and that fits much better, more room in the toe box and I would say overall. Topo has now become the anatomically correct toe box leader for me. A wide option from Altra would help. Thanks for your work and the videos.
I haven't tried the UF5 but I found that the Altra form is wider in the forefoot than the UF4. The Altra works better for me with a wide forefoot and narrow heal
Form is a guidance shoe. the FWD Experience is now the Experience Flow - and they are Neutral shoes. See your local Run specialty store or a medical professional to access your gait and determine whether you need a neutral shoe or a guidance shoe and that will determine which to go with.
@@alessandrovalzania2316 The heel extends out like a full inch behind the shoe which is an absolutely absurd design on a zero drop shoe made for road use. it literally forces you to heel strike, even walking. Heel striking is not what you want to be doing in a zero drop shoe. it's almost self defeating. there are many other issue with the shoe as well. it's stiff as a board but doesn't have any kind of rocker so basically it forces a heel strike, then slams your foot down. It's clearly not designed for actually running. there's no way. Also It's got fit issues for most folks. Altras in general have known durability issues. The "black" color is actually metalic green. and the hyped up lacing system is an aesthetic gimmick that serves no functional utility. Altra really annoys me because there's so much potential but they constantly screw things up and it's gotten worse and worse since the company got sold.
@@TimJohnson-x1o I Just tried Rivera 2 from Altra but durability Is pretty weak, plus not a great lacing. I Stick with Topo, 5, 3 ore zero drop. So far so good with different models, also on Trail.

UF4 is so good.
finally an apples to apples comparison. You Rock!!!

What about the arc support, heard it can be quite intrusive in Topos for flat feet runners?
I’ve never worn Topo but the Altras have no arch support
appreciate the comparison and review! how would you compare the altra experience form to the altra fwd? not sure which one to try

I hope Topo comes out with a non stability version.
@@gugion Magnifly 5 is a zero drop vs the Ultrafly being a 5mm drop... so, not really
Altra put like zero effort into the looks of this shoe.
It's the plainest shoe I've seen in years.
dont tell the paradigm about altra doing good with heels. that thing being sold as a running shoe is an absolute joke.
What do you mean by that?
