Step1: Accidentally aggro enemies. Step2: Theme starts. Step3: Scramble to find even more enemies to fight, so you can listen to the rest of the track. Step4: The enemy population of Fontaine plummets, cause you were chasing a vibe.
Man, I'm convinced 1:00 is really underrated. Definitely the very start of the drama alright. I'm also reminded of Eula audaciously slashing though enemies with grace.
@@anonymouseevee5307 Same, I was just searching for it's name as they officially released the album today! It's called "Virelai des marees" from the 4th disc.
My fav fontaine battle theme... The second one is good but sounds just like stereotypical french romantic music. When you first hear that type of music it's good, but when you hear too much of it you become numb to it. This is a good mix of it with a bit of inspiration from classical music and novel styles to enjoy.
2:00 's my favorite part. You have a bunch of dissonance and chaos around 1:48 that feels very bouncy and erratic. Upon getting closer to 2:00 the strings withdraw slightly, piano keeping the music going, and the dissonance lessens. Then suddenly the brass come in with this long and powerful melody, accented by orchestral chimes. Organ also comes in at this point holding out a long sustained chord that supports the melody. Meanwhile the descending run in the strings keeps the energy going and the music from stagnating. it's so grand and epic.
i love your observations. 0:29 i love the background is frantic and you have piano leading. at 0:46 there seems to be fishing reels. 1:02 you have the cello (?) with the beauutiful bg sound. Throughout the song you can also hear ticking !!
@@Ketitip i love your observations as well! the contrast between the calm piano and strings really is cool. I struggled to hear the fishing reels at 0:46 tho, are you referring to the quiet sort of rattling in the very background? Also noticed the percussion (i think it's castenets), but never thought of it as ticking! i wonder if this has implications lore-wise- maybe related to the oratrice, or just symbolizing passage of time like with a clock? anyways at 0:59 the constant ticking stops and percussion instead sounds like something's being wound up, which is interesting. it also stops completely at some points (1:31 & 3:38), but not sure if it's just because it's a calmer part or if it's symbolizing something
I know it’s a small thing, but I love the little mechanical ticking sound in the background from 0:14 to 1:00. It seems to suit Fontaine’s clockpunk theme, mixing in with the its rococo elegance.
While all Fountaine battle themes are masterpieces to me, this one is my top favorite. The addition of clockwork sounds sells me right away. Truly land of Engineers
For my own reference in an attempt to analyze form: 0:00 intro 0:14 theme I (chaos), by strings 0:27 theme II, by piano 1:00 theme III, by violins. 1:30 bridge of sorts 1:43 theme I (chaos). different key, more dissonant? by strings, passes to piano. somewhat outlining photon of fluctuation motif 2:00 theme II by brass, passes to piano 2:30 theme III, by violins, passes to various instruments. multiple variations of theme (2:47- more minor/diminishide version of theme III) 3:57 ending- interestingly, same as intro! seems to be in same key, just an octave down. makes sense since this is meant to be looped
@@d_breadstix_guy1603 Don't worry that's a normal response when you actually feel the music. It just means that the music has touched your soul and as a response you start to feel emotional.

Despite it being a water reigion, Fontaine's music is FIRE,
agree
Fontaines music is water💧💧💧💯
~vaporize~
It's called elegant and beauty
There's always a battle music that comes out of nowhere and hit a nail into forehead...This Song is example of that type of music

I know right? I searched for a while to find this song and this specific part because it keeps getting stuck in my head!

Do you mean the one that played in the Fontaine symphony performance?
@@lorienmyers7643 no, the one that starts with violins. there's a vid of it on this channel
Agreed! me too this is the best battle theme for me other than the other two!! i hope they make the orchestra MV for this one! This deserve it! 😭

2:54 chills every time
2:30 this part is really beautiful.
Fully agree. When I first heard this part, it made me tear up a bit because it sounds so majestic.
although short, 3:18 hits harder for me but for the same reason as 2:30 hits
@@alyJ_impactalso I’m glad I’m not the only weirdo that tears up at genshin tracks

I cry on this part, so touching 😭
best fontaine combat theme, others feel a bit generic
Idk why but I really like 0:59
Same here
1:44 Why this feel so epic?? After Mondstad, Fontaine have the best music so far!
definitely my favorite battle Ost. it feels like you're experiencing a scene with the different tones the music takes. it's all beautiful
It reminds me of the first Chasm battle theme.
Same
I really, REALLY love the violin(?) solo at 2:31 in this theme
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
I always get sad when I’m done fighting and that song was olaying
