I always loved the different wipe effects Thames used on their continuity, such as how they wiped back from the menu to Peter when he corrected the details of the music, and then when they went to the clock afterwards. It makes you wonder if the DJ did indeed get their needle in a twist 😄
I found the non-acknowledgement, from London Weekend at closedown on Sunday, of programmes on Monday on ITV apart from on TV-am, as bizarre as it seemed pretty from LWT. I wonder did the ITA/IBA ever have words with them about this apparent disgruntlement, seemingly going back to LWT's early years? I do know that, as part of the 1982-92 franchise round, Thames and LWT were told by IBA they had to produce seven-days a week of regional news, however that was achieved. After 1982, LWT's "London News Headlines' were still ridiculously paltry except for what Thames TV produced for them at Friday teatimes.
