Bless the Lord oh my soul
    blessed art thou oh Lord
oh Lord my God thou has been magnified exceedingly
    blessed art thou oh Lord
confession and majesty hast thou put on
    blessed art thou oh Lord
upon the mountains shall the waters stand
wondrous are thy works oh Lord
between the mountains shall the waters run
wondrous are thy works oh Lord
in wisdom has thou made them all
    glory to thee oh Lord
    who hast made them all
glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
    glory to thee oh Lord
    who hast made them all
both now and ever and unto the ages of ages amen
    glory to thee oh Lord
    who hast made them all
    Alleluia Alleluia Alleluia
    Glory to thee oh God
    Alleluia Alleluia Alleluia
    Glory to thee oh God
    Alleluia Alleluia Alleluia
    Glory to thee oh God.

The melody (top voice) is the Valaam Chant of Psalm 103. The rest of the harmony is a composition based on Georgian chant.

Valaam melody using Georgian harmonizing techniques. I never would have thought to do that, but it sounds gorgeous. They didnt sing this when I was there :-(

This is Georgian chant, I believe... absolutely stunning. I didn't know there was a recording of them chanting this. I really want to go back!

@arenonearer - Yes, the melody is indeed the Valaam melody. The harmony is based on Georgian harmony, but it is not an authentic Georgian harmony for this hymn. The Georgian influence really comes through at the end.

Peace be with you brothers and sisters!
I am just wondering where I can find a studio record of this masterpiece. Greetings from Canada!

There is a cd called bless the Lord Oh my Soul from st tikhons mission choir. It's the Valaam version. If you manage to get it on mp3 please let me know, I've been searching for a long time now.

There used to be a CD with a recording of the monks singing this. I believe it was simply called Orthodox Liturgical Hymns, however, i doubt there are many more copies in circulation.
