This intro hits me kinda hard, ngl. My younger sibling came out as trans at the beginning of this year, and fortunately everyone in my family has accepted them for it - save for our mother. They intentionally chose not to tell her as she is the only one who would be polarized and antagonizing about it. I'm right there with them on that call, as our mother will give them hell when she finds out. And when she does discover it, I will have to physically be there to be the wall that separates those 2. I greatly dislike the fact that that contention will likely get physical, but I'm also not afraid to defend my beloved sibling's happiness and acceptance... even if it means having to defend myself AND them against the woman that birthed us. I'm so adamant about this because I also desperately wanted to transition in my youth. I just turned 28, but ever since I was a small child I always hated the fact that I was born a male. I have attempted suicide too many times, well into the double digits, and a majority of those times have been of this exact reason. In the end, I decided not to transition, and I now just barely accept myself... but that doesn't mean that I don't know that struggle. If I DID choose to follow through then I would have been in a very similar situation as Annika at the time. I doubt she will ever see or read this but... Annika. Coming from a literal asocial misanthrope who hates the world... you matter. You are valid. Never stop being you, no matter what anyone says or does. And also, thank you for your honesty and bravery Queen❤
Because of a rules change some years ago opponent did not have a land drop at 44:45. they made extra land drops with Azusa, lost her, cast explore and at that time the game is like: yeah you have 2 land drops this turn but you've already made 3 so no land drop for you. loving this video though!

I played a deck with a similar game plane during the original Ravnica. I used Cerebral Vortex and Kami of the Crescent Moon instead. I think Solitary Confinement would be better than Ghostly Prison with all the draw spells.
As someone who is not Trans, but who is a staunch supporter, I appreciate you being an ally for a very marginalised group, and using your platform as a way to show support and love for them. I had an acquaintance in high school who was MTF Trans, and she ended her life because her family was the worst. I really do thank you for supporting such an important resource for our Trans family.
That last round 4 game was a beautiful reminder that even in this format of 4-color soup barely caring about it, the Moon is still out there and it's still gonna get you.

40:40 Is there any judges? I feel like the spelunking + amulet interaction is weird. Spelunking is a replacement effect (lands enter untapped) and amulet is a trigger (when a perm enters tapped, untap it). Shouldn't spelunking remove all the amulet triggers at all times since replacement effects occur before triggers and since the land enters untapped is not a tapped perm entering the battlefeild? IE. Rest in peace / leyline of the void are replacement effects and blood artist is a trigger. All 3 work on creatures that leave battlefield to graveyard but if RIP or LOTV are in play they replace the die effect with exile and shut off blood artist. If anyone knows why spelunking + amulet allows you to choose, I would love to know
The game isn't checking for Amulet at that point, it's checking the land itself that has the printed replacement effect "This enters the battlefield tapped" and that competes with Spelunking's "Enters untapped" and the owner of the affect object decides which one applies.
Remand is good is decks with high forward velocity, where putting a spell back in their hand is close to taking an extra turn. This deck gives them some many lands to play and so many turns to replay their spell that it’s not even effective interaction at all.
It's my understanding (I could be wrong) that this is a black vise style deck, so putting cards back in hand in the early game, then locking them out something like curse of exhaustion or rule of law. Maybe that's out of focus though?
Not into modern...but love to see this one. I was into zendikar standard as well and almost top8 to qualify for nacionals at my country with Turbo Flare AKA Runeflare trap combo.

We do not become the hate with which a misguided human might attempt to assail us. We transform it, countering it like an adroit control mage would, however that process manifests in us. This is about uniting as loving compassionate human beings who simply want to live and let live. Mystical gaming nerds are cool. Mystical gaming nerds who are also compassionate are parsecs cooler. 💚 And that R1G1 win was so rad. Git 'em! My style of deck.
Silly idea of the day: Shah of Naar Isle. Unsuspecting opponents will probably take three cards and get burnt out, slightly more cautious people who take two risk being blown out by temple bell, and once they're taking one or less the 4 mana 6/6 trample starts looking pretty decent on rate. I am guessing it'd be too slow/easy to play around (and probably you'd want more effects you can choose to use on your own turn rather than theirs), but I'm the sort of person where "win with the silliest cards possible" is more important than winrate! (This is why I play commander and not leagues/tournaments, as you could probably guess). Pity Chandra Ablaze costs 6; there's some...interesting interactions between her various abilities and the various pieces of this deck. (EDIT: Browbeat also exists, and having an excuse to cast it at your opponent would be extremely funny; though I imagine it would still mostly serve the midrange burn role of "deals damage or draws you burn which then deals damage") Massive props for the trans lifeline stuff, too.
This deck feels like it would be better as a grixis shell, since bow master/sheoldred would combo with your forced draws and help get your opp down into trap range.
Let me tell you, a league where you get a fucking tron player to salt out and not want to play is a beautiful league to be your trans lifeline stretch video. Fucking beautiful.

Howling Mine and Dictate of Kruphix only work if you have a draw step, so Solitary Confinement is REALLY bad with those effects.

Wouldn't remand be a no brainer as it both "counters" keeps there hand full, and was in that block (I think?)
