I was picking up cans & bottles along the road with my scout troop in the early 60s and got separated and lot from them. Ron pulled up in his jeep with a big smile. The jeep was green then and he picked me up, shook hands and took me into town. I didn't know who Ronald Reagan was the time. I thought he was Peter Burtness because Peter had the only green jeep in town then. Ron told me that he grew up in Illinois near military bases and that if you ever saw a man (I was just a boy) in a uniform walking along the road, you stopped & gave him a ride. Thanks for the ride Ron! Todd Henry Killbuck
I was happy to hear the man at the beginning correctly pronounce the name Willys (will-is). So many people get it wrong, even people who are "car people."
I absolutely love the guy. I don't care about his politics. I'm a middle age gay man. Grew up with him as president and I really wish he was still here. The man had heart. He had the spirit of, " what I do in private is mine." Damn I wish he were here too vote for.
He was a leader. In other words, to me, he concentrated on the big picture and did what was right for the national as a whole. He wasn't perfect, but a great leader.
What a great story. I was a young Security Police NCO in the USAF when he was president. We all loved him. Years after my retirement, on my birthday, my wife and I rode my Harley down to his Presidential Library. I loved it.
Reagan is one of the greatest presidents and men of our time. Seeing this makes me so happy to be an American 🇺🇸 Reagan embodies what makes a real good man and what it means to be a patriot. And I love that Jeep. My father had an ‘89. Takes me back.
What a man, what a vehicle. America has produced some great presidents. Washington, Lincoln, Teddy and FDR, Truman and Kennedy. Few have done more for both peace and economics than Reagan. We always joked that Nancy was the real president because Reagan would listen to those he trusted, including Nancy. Was he the last president who listened to others before he made any important decision. He also considered the impact of his decisions.
I'm not a jeep lover, in fact I am very much a Toyota fanboy, but i will agree that that particular jeep is a national treasure, as well as being built in a time where jeeps could actually go offroad and do truck stuff without breaking. I'd say that this jeep definitely matters, as well as the person who drove it. President Reagen was a godsend. For one, he immediately saved a bunch of lives by lifting the national speed limit from 55 to 65. Rest in peace, Mr. President. You will be missed.
Well what can I say! I was born 1962. and that Jeep was made in 1962. so the Holy Spirit was High!!! Grretings from Guatemala City. I am a citizen of this World!!
Très jolie vidéo de la jeep matters cj 6. moment nostalgique de ce couple Présidentielle de. Ronald Reagan et Nancy Reagan magnifique inoubliable Merci. 🇺🇸🇫🇷
I’m joyed watching this video Reagan was a cool guy nice to see him like the average guy working enjoying life also liked him cruising around in the jeep with his dogs
George Albergo I lived through Reagan’s governorship in California and his presidency. Loved it and him. Trump is not for such simple surroundings but he’s every bit as much for regular Americans as Reagan was.

Really miss president Reagan, best president ever, and a jeep lover too.
I was happy to hear the man at the beginning correctly pronounce the name Willys (will-is). So many people get it wrong, even people who are "car people."
So I've come to notice. "Will-eez over-land" rather than "Willis overlind".

Reagan was an honest hard working man, and was one of our greatest presidents
I think the most greatest of presidents had the most humblest of beginnings...
....that's what we need today.
I spent a little time on his Santa Barbara ranch when I was a Navy Seabee in the mid-80s did not see the cj6 but I did see the blue cj8 scrambler

My father had one Willys Jeep in the 60s he used for working and would take us to school with it when the weather was very rough.

Very nicely done. Great stories about a great man and his great vehicle.
cj 6. very cool. kinda rare, especially these days.
He was optimistic and positive.
I wish we had another president like him...
We do now.
Sidecar Hero
Well see. Just as long as he knows where people should pee, and that he should quiet down on the twitter
Eli Butterfield absolutly agree👍
Such a beautiful video.
This is awesome! I thought he only owned the 83 Scrambler.

awesome video & a cool piece of history!!!
I like the original paint version more🙁. But nice gesture 🙂
Reagan also had a CJ 8 Scrambler, it was a gift from Nancy. He gave Gorbachev a ride in it.
Great video thank you!
President Regan was the last president I considered a true leader, who cared for the citizens of the USA. Thank you. R.I.P.

Isn't this the same guy that passed a law banning assault rifles for civilians?

a 62 would be a Kaiser,not a Willys
Kaiser Willys is the same company.
It's Kaiser Willys...
nope. 62 Jeep was still under Willys, Hence the data plate on both our 62s saying Willys, and the 65 says Kaiser Corp on the plate.
#AllJeepsMatter
I hope no one is going there to.meet him because they're going to have a hard time doing it.
