I completely agree with Alex on this one. I thought it was SO much fun, and as a Bond fan absolutely INCREDIBLE! I am still coming off the high of seeing it, but I cant remember being so enthralled or pumped about any other Bond movie. I adored it!
the first time James bon drank a martini shaken not stirred was in casino royale, not skyfall like they said...the scene was during the poker tournament when JB was trying to make Le chiffre lose his focus on the game...
Watched it last night and I loved it. Do not like the old Bond movies much, but enjoy these last ones very much. Holy shit Javier Bardem is so good as the villain. Too bad mr. Rapace didn't get more screentime, brilliant actor.
It throws you the first time someone you agree with all the time suddenly has a completely opposite opinion from your own, doesn't it? I first realized that Jeff and I weren't part of the same hive mind when he loved Paranormal Activity and I found it to be an unconvincing gimmick of a film.
Another instance: When he's on the train. Instead of taking cover and then climbing up the next car he gets in the dozere and almost kills his partner with cars then proceeds to almost kill a car full of people, and gets shot...etc, etc and for what? How un-Bond like. The plot just went nowhere for me I guess... And I knew I wasn't alone I caught a couple people actually falling asleep during the movie haha.
How is Alex a huge Bond fan, but he is not aware that a lot of the other ones are not based on books or that Sam Mendez has not done any of the other ones? And, Jeff says "This is the most un-James Bond James Bond ever made". It brings back Q among other things. But, who cares if it is? It's a good movie.
I can't wait to see the return of a new & more Lethal SPECTER now more secretly than it's previous incarnation.from Quantum of Solace ,I hope I got it right.that the new Criminal Organization is ,glad to see a new Q taking over the Q Branch & a new Ms.Moneypenny. is a new century & even though Bond destroy Specter a few of their minions might have rebuilt the old organization.I just saw in the movie theater.still wondering who help Mr.Zilba(Bardem) character.
Yeah I gotta say I was disappointed in all the same ways Jeff described. The movie just felt wonky and it had some pretty iffy plot points. I wanted to like it after all the hype. But it's not as good as Casino Royale for me, but better than Quantum of Solace.
Did Jeff see the same movie as me? All his criticisms don't even make sense to me. Seriously doesn't even sound like he's talking about the same movie I saw lol I haven't seen a tighter more cohesive bond film in decades lol. I loved casino royale but the last half hour (everything post torture) almost put me to sleep. Quantum was probably one of my least favorite bonds ever made. Skyfall just got everything right. I mean sure the beginning is a bit slow but that's my only complaint
i liked the movie , but i agree with jeff , i m just starting to check their videos , will subscribe , seems to be a nice chan .... but yea , i liked it , but the main probleme i thought was the 2 different stories wich went kind in a weird way .****spoiler , u start with james bond dead , and i was like wow ! sweet lets see what crasy thing will happen ... then it doesnt go anywhere , soon after it s almost the same "borderline" bond .... and then the other story kicks in , with a cool bad guy
Jeff's like the bad cop of the trio, seems to say things that make u wonder if he's really legit in his critiques. Fluctuates between 100% fanboy (Capt America) to indifference for Bond.
on the old vs. new topic, Nolan is too good a director and writer to beat u over the head with that theme like this movie did.....this movie was unfortunately disappointing for me....
Not only do I agree with Jeff, its the worst Bond film in 50 years. Yes it looks nice, yes it has well acted characters with depth, but it is all over the place, it is a very small Bond film. A lot of characters have no point in being in the film. Craig plays Bond entirely different to the last two outings. Nothing gets near the decent opening sequence. 00bored
Alex speaks sooop much rubbish in this review, he claims that he's an OG bond fan yet cant recall any of the fundamental elements of the originals! I.E 'Opening sequence, previous directors'
Wow I'm surprised how many liked this movie... The villain was too small minded, a personal vendetta against 1 person is not a Bond villain. He should be trying to take over the world or bringing down the entire MI-6. Also a lot of the action didn't make sense....it seemed like it was all coincidental and just sheer luck and not intelligently written. An example: When he's in the subway and he uses a bomb to set off an explosion that a subway car goes through at Bond...Why? How would he know?
The last bit at 19:25 was even more awesome then the review itself! You guys rock! :D

I did really love the intro sequence A LOT though! amazing song and solid Bond visual style. Makes me want to buy the Blu Ray just to see it again.
all of daniel craig's bond movies have shown him getting a drink that is "shaken, not stirred" without using the classic phrase.
Not the first time I agree with Jeff, he's got it right again.
12:10 Perfekt analogy from Alex, respect. Totally not seen it that clearly before.
I agree with Alex. I loved the film and really liked how it harkened back to the older films in so many ways.
I think your opening little music clip is from Lost Odyssey on 360.
Thanks for the review. This was by far my favourite Bond movie.
What was the shanghai silhouettes he mentioned??
Totally agree with Alex, it was awesome.
he brought humor to the character, but it always bordered on just plain silliness

very intriguing review
TOTALLY AGREE with Jeff.
Casino Royale = Batman Begins. Skyfall = The Dark Knight. Both of these films are that great. Good god Skyfall was absolutely terrific
Guy who directed Casino Royale also directed Goldeneye :)
A lot of parallels to be drawn between this film and The Dark Knight.
The sniper scene
So excited, I'm watching Skyfall tonight BIATCHES!!!

Never disagreed with Jeff so much. You gotta respect his crazy opinion,;)
Literally
Says he's been a massive Bond fan since childhood.
Doesn't know that all Bond films since FRWL have had theme songs and title sequences.
WUT.
Another instance: When he's on the train. Instead of taking cover and then climbing up the next car he gets in the dozere and almost kills his partner with cars then proceeds to almost kill a car full of people, and gets shot...etc, etc and for what? How un-Bond like.

howd they get guy fiere to be on the show
I hear what your saying Jeff, but then I see the trailer playing in the background of you. And your words don't match what I'm seeing.
Jeff's Jack Threads sponsor ads are progressively getting more embarrassing lol
This movie was the best of the three Daniel Craig Bonds so far!!!!
Martin Campell did Goldeneye and Casino Royale

It was better than quantum but they will never beat Casino Royale.
This Movie was GREAT ! Its very Bondish, but at the same time not Bondish,ha..10 out of 10..cant wait for BOND 24

Cool.
Please tell the there are nude girl silhouettes in the opening credits.. CLASSIC!! lol

Jeff really got this one wrong :/
first time I disagree with Jeff.... wow...
Martin Campbell.
Alex is the only one who is correct here ;)
holy shit this made me die for a second

Daniel creg? Hmmm
why does he pronounce craig 'crag'. its really weird
Skyfall is one of the best Bonds ever. I can't believe this but I'm actually going to have to disagree with Jeff.

Sure, if you're not a fan of a coherent story, good acting, dialogue etc.
I agree with Jeff. A decent movie...not great.
Highly disappointed with Skyfall... Didn't nearly live up to the hype.
No, Craig.
guess I'm 2nd then. cookie plz.
Go to the point...you spend too much time doing "uh...well...uh...ah" Boring!
Craig > Creg
I really didn't like this movie. Very bland and boring. Had lots of potential. A shame.
im first, dammit
