I remember seeing this on American Playhouse (PBS) and I just loved it! I had a VHS copy of it that I loan to someone and it never came back.
Was going to get a copy of it from The DVD Lady before the hols, but I didn't get around to it and now I just watched it on my smartphone. I wanted to see it before I pass.

A friend gave me a DVD of this years ago, probably pirated. I love this production. Robert Morse was phenomenal.

I first saw Robert Morse on stage with Dyan Cannon in 1963 (somewhere in Pasadena) in "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying." He was wonderful in that, in "The Loved One," and in everything I ever saw him in, including "Tru." I came here to see this, having seen it at least 20 years ago on TV, after reading the Texas Monthly article on Joel Roberts Poinsett, American Diplomatic Minister to Mexico during the James Madison administration. This flower was named after him in the United States. I never forgot Tru's description of the Poinsettia as the Bob Goulet of Botanicals.

All forgotten, but not to me. I knew both Capote and Morse. They were gentlemen. They were eccentric and beautiful.
