I have to say, I really like the implication about alex's character from going through a corporate punishment without resorting to giving himself to his own folds. I think it could mean alex is someone who is at his core unbreakable, or might believe, truly, above all else, that somewhere better exists, that he can be better. Alex is ultimately become infinite hope against infinite cruelty. I really like that idea.

Years late, but I believe the reason why you can still get hit even after you dive is you might've been hungover. Hungover reduces your dodge rate, and in all of my own runs of the fight, I've gotten hit while diving if I've been hungover.

did it, it was hard fought, used the bird seeds in order to get enough MP to dive and he immediately became dangerous so, that was probably the hardest I strategized on a boss your meant to thoughtlessly steamroll.
You could have saved a lot of time if you knew that the Dangerous effect comes with an invisible weakness to stun. In other words you can goat headbutt to effectively clear the effect.
i tried this several times, twice i got close, but cleveland got the TRAPPED punch like a 4 turn stun, knowing that you can remove off-balance with condition killer is some stuff. I actually got 2 off-balance status effects at once at one point. Don't know how that happened
I also once managed to get through the boss without bringing myself to the third stage. Unfortunately, it often depends on the randomness and how part of Denskin will use the Gun
Phase one is pretty much just default Alex, but phase 2 gives you an adrenaline status, which seems to increase max health, defense, and probably a few other things, AND you get Major Iris

Also, I'm pretty sure that for whatever reason, major iris inflicts its own kind of off balance, instead of exhaustion
