Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. He died on the cross to save us for our sins and rose from the grave defeating death and Hell. You must put your faith in him only. He is the only way to Heaven. Repent and trust in Jesus.

The bass on that piano is superb, and your playing is even more so. I wish there were more performances of Liszt and Chopin with period instruments!

Loved that cadenza at the end! Unexpected, exhilarating, and thorougly Lisztian (interlocking octaves and all). I wish all these top recording artists of today reconnected with the performance practice of old. There is simply too much beauty in music for the score alone to convey, and it's through a myriad of subtleties that lie beyond the written notes that its true nature is unraveled. The greats of the late 19th and early 20th century knew this all too well, as did every musician in the classical tradition until the much regrettable shift towards faux objectivity that took over the second half of the 20th century. Here's hoping more young musicians such as yourself pick up the slack in 19th century repertoire. Your colleagues in the early music scene have been doing this for 50 years, and it's high time the Romantics are given the same treatment. Congratulations, Angie!

Fantastic performance from Angie Zhang, and the piano is such a surprise. I had expected that slightly tinny pianoforte sound which I have never much liked and this beautiful, rich, sonorous sound appeared. ... lovely. I hope the University now commissions a stool to be built more in keeping with this piano. The one used here seems terribly out of place. It would be a wonderful job for a quality local cabinet maker!! Thanks again for posting such a fine recording.

Pianist Angie Zhang, what a wonderful recording of a live performance, wonderful! I love your playing!
Excellent instrument! Except there is a problem with the tuning of the discant and above, the upper octave. I can not decipher whether it is the strings or the tuning. Possibly the pin block is damaged. In restored instrument there is a balance between restoring and replacing old parts. In replica instruments of the age there is not the same descant (upper octave) problem, but they are - of course - not truely period instruments.
But for at comparison let me remind you that Stradivari-violins are not sounding as they did when built, and replicas, newer violins, can be made to sound as good as, or even better, than old Strads. They don't have museum value, of course, those newer instruments have much value, but not as antiquities.
There are some videos with Chris Maene instruments, replicas, they are excellent.
Also Robert Levin demonstrates Mozart (yet earlier than Chopin and Liszt) on a replica which sounds so good.

Straight-strung vs cross-strung bass-strings is the reason. Some piano builders think about going back to straight. I hope they do.

This repertoire sounds so much better on period instruments. You can actually hear the bass notes, and the changes in timbre are almost orchestral in effect.
