    If I want to make the brim larger or longer, what will be the continuing pattern?

      @@flaneurli.6077 hi, I would make row 33: 11sc, increase; then make 1-2 rows without any increases depending what shape brim do you want. And I would continue if I need 12sc, increase; 1 or 2 rows without increase and so on. Hope it helps 🤞

      Magic circle is just a big slip knot, with the magic circle you crochet in to the open loop, with the slip knot you pull it together and insert your crochet hook. I hope this helps, just practice you'll get it if I did so will you

    This is exactly what I've been searching for a very long time. Years ago I brought a hat similar to this made from Chenille yarn with a rolled brim. I'd loved to see this pattern crocheted with a rolled brim.

    I am sorry,I made your hat using every stitch except for the magic circle! When I use the mc my work unravel and looks loose even after sewing in the ends, so I just chained4, and joined with a slip stitch instead, and it worked for me! Love this pattern!💜

  • @Painter931

    I like this hat very much. I started pattern. I would like to know when I am approaching a two crochet from previous row do I crochet in only one of the double crochet and leave the other stitch alone. I find if I include both stitches from the previous two sc a crochet my circle gets ripples. I will try without both SC and see how it goes.

    • @HobbiCROCHET
      @HobbiCROCHET  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it starts ripples, you have made too much increase. Not sure which round you are doing, but as soon as you feel it starts ripples, stop making an increase (2sc in one stitch). Continue with 1sc in one stitch till you feel tension, then proceed with the pattern increase. Skipping stitches will create holes - so I would be careful there.
      Another advice - try smaller hook. Usually this pattern works as it's a common pattern to make a circle. Good luck 🤞

    • @Painter931
      @Painter931 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for reply. I was working increase row. One sc two SC in one space. As I come around row three as example one sc crochet in space next stitch will have two SC in one space so I need to work each stitch even though there are two in a single space. But I will use smaller hook. I think that made circle bubble. I did crochet one hat so far but I used only SC crochet because I just wanted to go through the pattern and see finish product. I know practice is the answer. This waist coat stitch reminds me of Tunisian style crochet. I love crocheting Tunisian so easy and beautiful. I might even try a hat with Tunisian stitch.

    Hi im at the end of row 5 and have 30stitches. But im not sure how to start row 6 bcz u make additional sc. do i follow your tutorial or i follow what u listed - to start with increase, 4sc right away? Thanks!

    • @HobbiCROCHET
      @HobbiCROCHET  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, sorry, it was long ago, i was not that great.
      The idea of moving the beginning of the row for a few stitches is that I am moving the position of increases. This helps to avoid having sharp corners where you increase. You can see that increases are on top of each other and this makes my circle have corners. By moving the beginning of the row and moving the position of increases helps to avoid this issue. Hope it helps

    Would 288m of yarn be enough or do I need to have the 300m? I want to make sure I’m not short on material.
    Really love this hat and would like to do it for my sister!! :) thank you for the tutorial

    • @HobbiCROCHET
      @HobbiCROCHET  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, 288m should still be good. But you realise you will need more than 100g. My green hat -100% acrylic 300m (100g) weight 110g; black hat 30%wool 290m (100g) weight 180g.
      Hope it helps 😊

    Hi, is there a way to fix when we are doing the brim and realise the flar circle was too big?

  • @THEdrofxo
    @THEdrofxo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    After the 3sc inc and 10 sc inc, my brim starts to frill :( how can i make it straight like yours?

    • @HobbiCROCHET
      @HobbiCROCHET  4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Means you increased too much. Undo 3sc inc row and make 5 sc inc , then continue without increase. You probably didn’t need so much increase. Hope it will help.

  • @sssssbunny
    @sssssbunny 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The result is amazing! How are you able to make the hat so rigid? For the projects I do, they looks at the end very lack of structure :/
