Hi guys!!! Just wanted to mention that the instructions in the vid wont make the hat have those downturned edges at the end, its just that I did something a bit random by accident when I was filming to make it do that!! BUT if you follow the instructions like I have in the vid, the hat will come out like the picture I have of it in the thumbnail!! Sorry for the confusion and thanks so much for understanding!

Very clear pattern and tutorial. I used an off-white speckled yarn ... 1 skein Hobby Lobby 'I Love This Cotton' #4 but looks a bit thinner than in the tutorial. I made the sides 1 row longer and made the brim smaller (the 3 INC. rows plus 1 round HDC in ea. st). It came out real cute ... sort of like a flapper style. Since the yarn is thinner it is a nice light weight for summer. Thanks for sharing this!

You have explained it sooooo well i cannot thanks you enough!!!! I was struggling with so many videos and noone mentioned about the v-loop thing in the beginning after 4 chains i am so glad u made this video such an angel!!!

Thank you so much for your step by step tutorials, easy to follow instructions. I’m glad I a came across your TH-cam channel ❤ Much love from South Africa ❤
thank you so much for this tutorial i loved it!! mine turned out so goood!!!! I think it took me about 7 hours haha and I did it all with no breaks, my hands killing me rn but i've got a super pretty hat and im not even mad! :p have a nice day everyone
Emma P you are such a kind and awesome teacher! I have been crocheting for many years, but I understand how frustrating and confusing it can be for new crocheters and seasoned crocheters elevating their skill with new projects ~ you make it easier to work through each mini challenge. Thank you♥️💖🥰
You literally saved me omfg!!!! Was looking at a tutorial for a strawberry hat, and I just wasn’t able to follow it :,(( instead I watched this for reference, and it’s so so so beginner friendly!! I’ve never crocheted before and I got it instantly. Thank you so much!
you made it SOOO MUCH EASY FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNER LIKE ME!!!!!!! Thanks a lot! May Allah repay your kindness in making this tutorial. Amin ~~ (bcs I've been searching & look into others, they are so fast & incomplete tutorial. They keep jumped into next step while many beginners are lost in the comment section)
I'm struggling to understand how to finish it of, is there any video example of how to do any of the methods? thank you so much for this fun video tho!
This was the 2nd crochet project I've attempted and this tutorial was so good! I can't believe I actually made this hat and it looks good! Very beginner friendly so thank you for making this 🥺❤
Hey i finally made a magic ring wit ur tutorial. I love how detail it is. And i completed my buckethat. Thank u for teaching me.its awesome my girl love it much
I’m in the middle of the doing this. The first time I got up to row 7 and then I realised I flopped because it was already curving inwards and it’s supposed to be flat. I’m not on row three for my second attempt. I also kept loosing count😭 but this is the best tutorial I’ve came across I’m just useless at this
Don’t worry at all! Bucket hats are honestly so hard, and I still always lose count as well🤣🤣 Maybe try loosening your tension or using a bigger hook its starting to curve! Maybe add in an increase or two extra to see if that makes it lie flatter! 💓
I just made these! It turned out more of a round hat 👒 rather than a bucket hat (if you understand) but it still looks cute! It took me 5-7 hours (didn't really count) but I work slow so you should be able to do it faster. I used a 3.5 mm yarn, 50g each and it took me less than 2 rolls. Thanks for this tutorial
LOVE this!!! I just finished making it and it’s so cute! Used a 4 mm hook so the brim came out more ruffled but It’s great! Would love if you could do a beanie tutorial! :)
literally the best tutorial ive ever seen. im a beginner at crochet and this was my first ever project and im sooo proud of it!! I keep showing it off to everyone in my family and theyre all so impressed lol thank you so much for this!!!
I've been wanting to make a crochet bucket hat for a while, but usually I'm too lazy to follow instructions, but this was simple enough and very clear. I had to re-do the bottom part a few times to make it to my liking, but very happy with the outcome. A nice one day project!
Hi Emma I’m so excited to try making this and your sweater vest, but I was wondering if I’m future videos you’d show more clips of the finished item/ you modelling it rather than the thumbnail where it’s harder to see. It would be really helpful to see what it’s supposed to look like and how it’s supposed to fit! X
I definitely recommend measuring your head! I followed the tutorial exactly and my hat came out 3x too big. I only measured afterward and saw I was totally off! My yarn was not right either.but I will be trying again!!
@@emmapcrochet I have learned to ignore the number of increase rows at the beginning, and just make enough rows so that the circle is 6.5 - 7.0 inches across. Then continue the pattern from there. There is a chart that shows the different sizes of heads and what the flat circle should be. The hat crown diameter is what you are looking for. jananiscreativecorner.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/beanie-size-chart.jpg
I have never crocheted before, but i wanted to make a bucket hat for my friends birthday. I love this video, and you are really good at explaining. One hour in to the project and i love it already. Thank you so much for this!
i think the hole isn’t really in the middle. i just put my hook under the slip knot that was used to connect to the start of the chain. hope this helps!
the hole is created by pulling on the chains after you've connected the first chain - it creates sort of a doughnut shape with a large space in the centre. The hook goes through that same space 8 times to create the first row :)
I have trouble with that too, what helps me is doing more than four chains in the beginning. For this I did 8 and there's a bigger whole in the middle at the top of the hat but it doesn't bother me, personally. Doing more chains just makes the hole more obvious once you connect the end of the chain to the beginning. I hope this helps!
You can try with the magic circle. It would be the same as hear but instead of starting with the slip not (I think that is how is call) you start with the magic circle. You can search for a tutorial on TH-cam, but pretty much you do the same shape as if you would do for a slip not, but instead of closing it you going to hold it and pull the hook through the hole, and then just yarn over, pull the loop trough the hole once again and chain one. Then you just chain the four she is asking and close a little bit but leaving a little bit visible, and the little part visible would be where you insert you hook
I've made 2 hats and idk what im doing wrong, or if my head is just small, but following the instructions you give makes a gigantic hat with huge brim. My second hat i only made with like 8 rounds before starting to downturn and make the body of the hat, did only 7 of those rows, and for the brim only did 3. Any more and its huge on me lol. But i love the hat and the pattern is easy to follow. Very fun and cute
I really like your video tutorial, very easy to understand for people like me who are just making it for the first time and you explain very slowly and in detail
Did this for like three times and finally got the right size this time. The brim got frilly because my yarn and hook aren't the size recommended and I had to do a lot more rows but it do be cute tho~
Such a great tutorial Emma!! So easy to follow and created such a cute hat. I finished it in one afternoon (with breaks). I will definitely be making more!
i’ve been struggling to finish this hat off looking even! it always looks as if one side of the brim has an extra row and looks uneven compared to the other side (even though i use my stitch marker!) is there anything you would recommend to help with this?
Thank you so much for the clear and easy video. I made the hat with 3.0mm hook, acrylic yarn, and wider brim. It's so cute. Am making another one with cotton yarn. Once again thank you!
thank you so much for the clear instructions and detailed explanations. It's my first ever crochet project and i'm on the final rounds already!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!
Thanks Emma your instructions are very simple to follow, I made a toddler version using Tube Yarn with a size 4 hook and just adjusted the rows to suit the smaller size, after my first attempt was way too big. 😊
I made 4 bucket hat from this tutorial and i already sold the 2 of them. Thank you for sharing this 😊 Keep spreading the yarn ❤ God Bless and stay safe ❤
this bucket hat was one of my first crochet projects and i lowkey liked how it came out. it is a little crooked and its big on one side of the head but it overall is a great and functionable hat. i made it look like a watermelon so its cute 10/10
OMG thanks for this tutorial, I’m a beginner like REALLY I started crochet 3 days ago and I’m successfully following this tutorial till the hat will be finished and with you, I feel like it’s easier and I’m learning sooo quick
This is a very easy beginner friendly tutorial, I still haven't finished my bucket hat but so far its amazing! I'm doing a magic circle and not a slip not because its just comfortable for me to do a magic circle as a slip not and its working pretty well thx! I will let you guys know how it goes!
Oh my god, I did it and it turned out so cute! The hat only took me like 3 days to finish, but your tutorials are so easy to follow. Anyway, I would highly recommend anyone that wants to crochet the hat to just do it, it was super easy :).

Jeanelyn Panganoron it depends. do you go by grams or yards? Can you also tell me the yarn that you used? If you tell me the brand I can help you because different yarn brands have different waits because of the proses they go through. I normally go by yards butttttt I can help you, the yarn I used was the brand yarn bee 🐝 and I used there sugar weal cotton sparkle yarn(I think that’s the name😂) in the color twirls at twilight (I think that’s the name). The amount I used in yards was maybe 120. In grams I used about 100.
I have just made a beanie, while watching tv. I made it up as i went along (I wouldnt want anyone to check it over lol) I'm now starting this, and its so easy to follow, thank you for your time x
yes!!!!! its so pretty thank you!! i'll attempt this right away!! btw, whenever i try crocheting a bucket hat or beanie it tends to either get too small or too big, how does it work? how do i know if im doing the right size?
That is a super good question and something i only figured out through trial and error! My head circumphrence is 21 inches around, maybe measure your head and see how much bigger/smaller it is and adjust that way x
tysm for this tutorial! i learned to crochet from you and now i have made a ton of protects!! do you think that you could make a video on making a sleep mask?
my second project.. it went so well, i was almost done, when i realized.. i made it waaaay to big. had do reopen everything cause i got a little mad :D starting all over again toay.. but your instructions are so well done! thank you so much
I made the hat! I took me about 1 week ( I did a little crocheting everyday) it looks SO beautiful 🙆, but it doesn't quite look like a bucket hat, it looks more like a normal hat.
I watched the whole video before even starting because the other ones are so confusing. For this one, I realized after I finished it i didn't need to do that! Such an amazing tutorial and i an liking and subscribing rn.

Thank you so much for your step by step tutorials, easy to follow instructions. I’m glad I a came across your TH-cam channel ❤
Much love from South Africa ❤
Finally someone explains how TO do the steps! Thank you
I spent 2 days crocheting this hat, my fingers are killing me but it's worth it!!! thank you for the amazing tutorial 💓
You are so welcome im so glad you enjoyed! 💓
thank you so much for this tutorial i loved it!! mine turned out so goood!!!!
I'm struggling to understand how to finish it of, is there any video example of how to do any of the methods? thank you so much for this fun video tho!
i’ll definitely do that! i did four shoulder bags and a bandana with your videos, and now i’m doing the gloves. i love you!!!
💓💓💓
This was my first project, and this was an amazing tutorial. It was so simple and easy. My hands are killing me but I really enjoyed doing this.
This easily the best video for crocheting a bucket hat that I’ve found. How you teach is extremely easy to understand even for me who’s a beginner.
That 2 dislikes from that people who cannot crochet
Love you emma ❤ 💗
Sadly, now there's 85 dislikes. I don't know why its fun for some people to dislike. *smh
THE best tutorial I’ve seen, I keep coming back to it everytime I wanna make a new bucket hat 🙌🏾
A winter bucket hat 😍 unreal! Me and my whole family love your videos!
You’re the only crochet tutorials I watch because you explain in such an easy to understand way!
Mine is curving up as well but I’m still going to try to complete it cz i don’t think there is much difference
Bought my first crochet hooks the other day and this is the first TH-cam tutorial I have actually been able to follow. Thank you!!!
OMG i was looking for a bucket hat tutorial this is perfect
I just made these! It turned out more of a round hat 👒 rather than a bucket hat (if you understand) but it still looks cute! It took me 5-7 hours (didn't really count) but I work slow so you should be able to do it faster. I used a 3.5 mm yarn, 50g each and it took me less than 2 rolls. Thanks for this tutorial
LOVE this!!! I just finished making it and it’s so cute! Used a 4 mm hook so the brim came out more ruffled but It’s great! Would love if you could do a beanie tutorial! :)
she used a 4 mm hook tho
@@randomperson-py5ze i think she ment 5
literally the best tutorial ive ever seen. im a beginner at crochet and this was my first ever project and im sooo proud of it!! I keep showing it off to everyone in my family and theyre all so impressed lol thank you so much for this!!!
The one person who makes stuff easy for me :)
CATACLYSM
I've been wanting to make a crochet bucket hat for a while, but usually I'm too lazy to follow instructions, but this was simple enough and very clear. I had to re-do the bottom part a few times to make it to my liking, but very happy with the outcome. A nice one day project!
Anyone elses coming out all wonky and wavey? Ahaha, I keep miscounting my stitches!
yes 😭✋ i got a frilly brim😩💔
@@golpo_kothika nooo that's cool!!
mines come out good xx
@@golpo_kothika i like a frilly. brim !!!
I noticed i was putting the double crocet into the top knot instead of the whole
Hi Emma
I’m so excited to try making this and your sweater vest, but I was wondering if I’m future videos you’d show more clips of the finished item/ you modelling it rather than the thumbnail where it’s harder to see. It would be really helpful to see what it’s supposed to look like and how it’s supposed to fit! X
I was planning to crochet a hat for my mom and u uploaded this! Thank you!!After I've finished that, I would like to show u
Your videos and explaining are so helpful!! I’ve started and finished 3 projects in the past 4 days just from following your tutorials! Thank you!!
That is amazing thank you so much!! I love to hear that 💓💓💓
I definitely recommend measuring your head! I followed the tutorial exactly and my hat came out 3x too big. I only measured afterward and saw I was totally off! My yarn was not right either.but I will be trying again!!
Oh no🤣🤣 So easily done dont worry at all! Cant wait to see your next try! 💓💓
My one challenge is when you say “hole in the middle” there’s no many holes & I think I keep getting the wrong one. 😭
i think the hole isn’t really in the middle. i just put my hook under the slip knot that was used to connect to the start of the chain. hope this helps!
the hole is created by pulling on the chains after you've connected the first chain - it creates sort of a doughnut shape with a large space in the centre. The hook goes through that same space 8 times to create the first row :)
You can try to learn the magic circle it works a lot better for me.
I am a beginner and I startes this 2 days ago i finished it and it looks so good the explanation was amazing great video
How long did it take for you?
@@kino3136 I did it for 4 days because I was also occupied with online classes and tasks ahahaha
I am so glad to hear! You are so welcome 💓💓
thank you so much for the clear instructions and detailed explanations. It's my first ever crochet project and i'm on the final rounds already!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!
🥳💓💓💓
Thanks Emma your instructions are very simple to follow, I made a toddler version using Tube Yarn with a size 4 hook and just adjusted the rows to suit the smaller size, after my first attempt was way too big. 😊
YAY! i literally LOVE your tutorials so much i’m so happy you posted this!!!!!!
I made 4 bucket hat from this tutorial and i already sold the 2 of them. Thank you for sharing this 😊 Keep spreading the yarn ❤ God Bless and stay safe ❤
Amazing!! And thank you so much, you too💓
I was going to make some bucket hats for my friends and you uploaded this!!! Yayyy
this bucket hat was one of my first crochet projects and i lowkey liked how it came out. it is a little crooked and its big on one side of the head but it overall is a great and functionable hat. i made it look like a watermelon so its cute 10/10
Hello!! Can you do a "how to crochet a scrunchie"? I know there are lots of tutorials but I like your tutorials most, thank youuuu xx
OMG thanks for this tutorial, I’m a beginner like REALLY I started crochet 3 days ago and I’m successfully following this tutorial till the hat will be finished and with you, I feel like it’s easier and I’m learning sooo quick
This was my first try at crocheting, it turned out great! Thank you
This is a very easy beginner friendly tutorial, I still haven't finished my bucket hat but so far its amazing!
I'm doing a magic circle and not a slip not because its just comfortable for me to do a magic circle as a slip not and its working pretty well
thx! I will let you guys know how it goes!
How did it turn out?
@@myasarmaswadeh Great! If you dont want to do the slip not version I would prefer the magic ring/circle version its not AS easy but is a great help
Your an angel on earth. Just what I needed.
Oh my god, I did it and it turned out so cute! The hat only took me like 3 days to finish, but your tutorials are so easy to follow. Anyway, I would highly recommend anyone that wants to crochet the hat to just do it, it was super easy :).

thank you, this really helps 🥺
@@byunbaekhee4715 No problem! I'm glad it does!
I'll try to add 3 rows every day, but I might skip some days.
I made one of these for my aunt and she loved it. I also made one of these for my grandmother and she loved it, too. Sooooooo basically sense the only ones I made were for family members, I am making myself a hat 👒
Love the tutorial ❤
How many yarns/grams did u use??
Jeanelyn Panganoron it depends. do you go by grams or yards? Can you also tell me the yarn that you used? If you tell me the brand I can help you because different yarn brands have different waits because of the proses they go through. I normally go by yards butttttt I can help you, the yarn I used was the brand yarn bee 🐝 and I used there sugar weal cotton sparkle yarn(I think that’s the name😂) in the color twirls at twilight (I think that’s the name). The amount I used in yards was maybe 120. In grams I used about 100.
Amazing video but I kinda failed and now it looks like "shower flower/sponge" 🤣🤣 but absolutly trying again as soon as I can! ❤️
@@emmapcrochet thank you!
You make your tutorials so easy to follow. I'm so thankful because I'm still learning. Thank you!!
could you do a tutorial on how to crochet the strawberry hat that people wear on tik tok please

I made the hat! I took me about 1 week ( I did a little crocheting everyday) it looks SO beautiful 🙆, but it doesn't quite look like a bucket hat, it looks more like a normal hat.
