    Just found this little film and I love the miniatures! They look doable for people who don’t want to take art too seriously, for those of us who are constantly disappointed with our paintings. These are not frightening! Thank you for making me want to do some little paintings! 🤗

    I really like how you painted these pieces, just curious about what paints you used here because the cobalt blue is so vibrant, I have not come across a cobalt that is as vibrant.

      Thank you so much for your sweet comments. I’m using cobalt blue from Windsor Newton professional grade.
      I always use professional grade watercolor because they are so clean and bright, with no fillers to dull them.
      Happy painting!❤️🎨

    Hello Eva. I enjoyed your video a lot. U are awesome and very talented!
    I have a question if u can answer me. I want to Paint some miniatures nof a board game, gloomhaven in case u have heard it. The problem is that i have only gouache as medium. Do u believe it will work or i need other medium like acrylics?
    Ty in advance and please Keep doing such great job

      Thank you so much for your kind comments. So glad you’re enjoying my watercolor tutorials.
      As long as you don’t need your board game painting to be waterproof, you should be able to use gouache. If you need it to be waterproof I think acrylic will work best. Have fun painting!

    Hello Eva I have so enjoyed watching this video you put here.
    I’m sitting taping up my little pieces of paper as we speak.
    I have nine white frames that I’ve just recently bought wondering what on earth I was going to do with them they were so small, now I know! Thank you so much and I wish you well from the warmth of New Zealand👋

      HI Anya, Thank you so much for your kind words! So glad you found my demo on the little miniatures helpful! They really are so much fun to paint - and will no doubt fit into your little white frames. As you know, it‘s amazing how good our watercolors look when you frame them! I am on my way to Africa for a wildlife safari right now, so I will probably be inspired to paint some exotic animals when I come home!
      I love to travel, and have been to your beautiful country of New Zealand about 10-15 years ago. I only visited the North Island, so I am hoping to go back, maybe next year to explore the South Island. I hope you are not too bothered by all the smoke from the terrible Australian bush fires?
      If you want to share your miniatures with me you can post them on Instagram and #watercolorwitheva or @EvaNicholsKunst - I would love to see what you create!
      Wishing you happy painting!

    Very much like one of my favorite courses ever, Karlyn Holman's A Little Watercolour 😉

    • @EvaNichols28
      @EvaNichols28  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I took a workshop with Karlyn last October(2018) at her studio in Washburn, WI. She was one of my favorite instructors ever. So sad that she is no longer with us! I actually filmed this class well before I took Karlyn's workshop. I think I was inspired by another artist from Canada years ago for these particular miniatures. I don't recall her name. We all learn from each other, and then put our own spin on it.

    What is the purpose of the salt?

    • @EvaNichols28
      @EvaNichols28  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The salt create texture in the watercolor if you apply when the painting is still damp. It's especially great for creating "snowflake" like texture in winter scenes.

      Thank you so much for your suggestion. I have invested in a new light ring so my newer videos are filmed with much brighter lighting.

    What is the iridescent watercolor you used (I mean, which company)?

    • @EvaNichols28
      @EvaNichols28  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi dutch, I used the Iridescent collection from Da Vinci. - In this demo I used the Iridescent Phthalo Blue and Iridescent Phthalo Green. Several of the other watercolor brands also have some Iridescent colors in their lines.
