    Tina. Have you discussed the opposing playing methods of playing/ learning scales linearly on each string vs. laterally across all six strings. I believe Segovia advocated learning each scale up and down each string.

    not always a fan of parallel motion. it can be dissonant sounding to my ear depending on the chosen chord. i usually play diads or triads that conform more closely to the key the song is in. thanks for your lessons. im not a jazz player, but always trying to expand my musical vocabulary.

    My former guitar teacher, back in the sixties wrote a book loaded with valuable rules of harmony designed for guitarists, featuring a lot of drop 2 voicings. His name is Joe Cinderella (RIP). I still refer to the book I still have. It’s out of print but there are other books.!
