Don Dokken: hes pushing 70 and hes had a series of health issues over the years, his voice isnt what it used to be and he cant do one thing he enjoys most anymore; playing guitar. Despite all of this he continues to go out on the road and entertain the fans. God bless him. Hes a rock legend. One of the best vocalists of the 1980s
Same here sister!!! Totally agree!!! I always felt this song is underrated!! This song still to this day and watching him sing it right now it still touches my heart!!! I love ya Don and always loved your voice🖤🤘🤘🖤
Agreed. You should listen to the version from One Night Live if you haven't already. Don's voice is at the pinnacle. The whole band sings their classics. Jeff does a piano theme.
One of the better 80s band.......with a shredding machine for a guitarist and Dons voice is incredible. When I first heard "Breaking the chains" iwas hooked 😮
You're still the man Don!!! I graduated high school in '85 so I was in the middle of all the hair bands of the time. By far, Dokken was and still is my favorite band from all the decades. Thanks for all the memories and all the great music!!!!
When you through a situation of broke up, no love in the relationship, ah it's worst and painfull, in this moment i have a desperate love for the ex girl of my friend, she pass away from me, but i can't left to think on her, i can't play the guitar in the same form, my demo sound whit some missing parts on the songs, this songs been wroten whit painfull.
It's amazing how well so many musicians can articulate these feelings at such young ages, so much talent, when it takes so many of us so many more years or decades to develop.
I married my 80s love of my life!! For 30 plus years still going strong!!! I look back and fell hard for her in the 7th grade!!! 11th grade met her again and never looked back!!!!
Considering what his voice has been through show the universal rock and roll. And the pain that he has suffered. He has still overcome the worst but still sounds very good. He doesn't have to push the high notes anymore. I actually think he sounds better these days. Great job
Beautiful voice even if he cannot go like he used to, all singers fade to a degree. I am going to see Lynch Mob/Dokken tomorrow night 34 years after the first time I saw them open for Loverboy. Loverboy was ok but I was there for Dokken!
So glad i lived my youth living and loving life through this great artist heyday all through the 1980s...and this version of this powerful song is truly a gift....God Bless Don Dokken
For everyone wondering who is filling the big Lynch shoes here; it is Jon Levin the guitarist from Doro Pesch's band Warlock back in the 80's. He played on the 1989 Force Majeure album & is a pretty awesome guitarist in his own right!
Good jam ....don it's really nice acoustic version, I listen to his song alot .....missing the girls that got away...the one that smelled so good ...😥😿🤔🙏🏄♂️🎣⚽️
Best concert of my life.... Z92 celebrates DIO. It was a local radio station promoting DIO. Well Dokken opened up with "Tooth N Nail" and it was the best two bands I have ever heard. Thank You.
The voice is gone. He has no range, u can keep lieing to yourself if it makes u feel better like most of the people here, ridiculous. Big DOKKEN fan btw but realistic.
@@motorcitymanman7711 I dont give two hula shits what you think. I like him. I loved them in their prime and appreciate them still. Cant wait to hear you sing. Ha ha .. have a good day.
I wasn't allowed to listen to "modern" or regular music growing up. I was introduced to this song by a co-worker when I was about 25 & I was hooked on Dokken! Many other bands/groups were in my "have to get list" from around that time of my life.
Dude. Or chicks out there.....if this is DON DOKKEN. Singin at almost 70 yrs. Old....i would pay . Big buks to see him doin his thing. ..these guys got me thru so much shit.......in my younger days.....still killing it...don and george and uncle jeff and all these cats. Kristian Du Vall Sorry bout your knee, I'm originally from Roseville, But have lived in Reno the last 9 years. I got to see DOKKEN at Boomtown about 2 years ago. It was definitely a AWSOME Concert. Don, you are one of the most beautiful voices in Rock, in the world, and in History!!!
CONGRATULATIONS MAN!!!!
💚🤍❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
His singing and George linchs' guitar made one heck of a killer band. Saw them multiple times in the 80s. Most excellent shows.
To me, the acoustic version is the best. It really flows well with the sadness in his voice, yet it amps the feeling so good. Don's a heaven sent.
Agreed. You should listen to the version from One Night Live if you haven't already. Don's voice is at the pinnacle. The whole band sings their classics. Jeff does a piano theme.
Dokken rocks...then ..now...and forever forever foreverrrr💕👍

1986 here I remember the hair metal
85 will survive.
Don is truly one of Rock Musics' underated vocalist
Who left Don in that much pain, over 30 years later and he still finds ways to keep the emotion in it
George Lynch
When you through a situation of broke up, no love in the relationship, ah it's worst and painfull, in this moment i have a desperate love for the ex girl of my friend, she pass away from me, but i can't left to think on her, i can't play the guitar in the same form, my demo sound whit some missing parts on the songs, this songs been wroten whit painfull.

This has to be my favorite version. The emotions are raw. The acoustic solo is great too. Not too flashy.
you can actually see the pain in his eyes and hear it in his voice.....wow.....epic!! DOKKEN FOREVER!!!!

He sounds fantastic here yes but it was 12 years ago and 10 years before your post. Sadly that's not the case since then.
Beautiful voice even if he cannot go like he used to, all singers fade to a degree. I am going to see Lynch Mob/Dokken tomorrow night 34 years after the first time I saw them open for Loverboy. Loverboy was ok but I was there for Dokken!
