Hello! Sorry to hear about your situation, as far as I know, UPOU follows a tri-sem academic calendar (and by batch po sila nag-aaccept every start ng school year). Basically, hindi po pwede mag 2nd sem unless nag 1st sem po sila. 😥UPOU accepts UP recons and especially, passers! Heyo! 😉 Hindi po ako nakasubmit agad ng FORM 137 and tama po na school to school transaction po ang magaganap sa FORM 137. To answer your last question, I first got an email from UPOU that I am qualified for admission and they gave me attachments that I need to answer to submit to UPOU. After getting that email, I requested my highschool to send and provide UPOU a dry-sealed FORM 137 and I delivered my documents through LBC! 👌

Hello po Sir Rich! 😊 Our PE is online din po (which consists of Walking, Yoga, Fundamentals, and Chess) and our schoolwork is submitted at our school's online website. Wala po sa curriculum po namin ang ROTC (since online lang po kami for the duration of our college years in UPOU). As for meeting up with classmates, there are subjects (such as CWTS) that make us meet with each other although mostly, it is entirely up to us if we want to see one another (for school purposes and/or for meet-ups in general). Lastly, it's difficult to be in an online set-up as opposed to the normal F2F school from other schools as we do not "experience" the usual college life. It's nice to keep in-touch with my friends through socmed applications and sometimes, we meet when we have free time. That's from my experience here in UPOU! 🌻💕
Thanks for the insights@@jet_hilao . Can UPOU students try out and join the UP varsity? So no need to go to the campus at all even for exams? If so, can we choose the campus closest to us? Because it's a free schedule, do the students have enough time for freelancing work? Campus life is over rated I think ..... I spent 3-4 hours daily on the road during my college days and had a hard time to look for napping places during long breaks in between classes. Would you know if you would be taught to code and if so, what language?
No problem! UPOU students can apply for varsities as well! There is no need to go to campus for exams as we are an online-based modality. Although there are some f2f activities throughout the schoolyears. Students can do freelancing while studying as this is an advantage for Open Universities. My course which is BAMS will be tackling on programming on our 2nd year, details yet to be specified. Hope this informs you po! 😀

Hello again! For BAMS, anything will do but there are some subjects that require downloading software applications on computers/laptops. I mostly use my PC to do my schoolwork and a tablet for back-up. 😁 In my own persona preference, laptops are a good option for "on-the-go" students na madalas mag-travel or pumunta sa iba't-ibang lugar. Computers are more on the "stationary" students that are mostly in their homes as they study. Tablets and Ipads can be used as a "back-up" device for learning. I guess it depends on what kind of user you are and your learning style! I hope this helps! 💻🌻
The bigger the ram, the better. 24GB ram is the ideal as there will be heavier workload as you go study at UPOU. Plus mapapakinabangan mo yung bigger ram for a long time at maganda siya for multi-tasking! Mas sulit siya for softwares, applications, big investment siya pero great returns din! 😊
Hello again! Sa UPOU, we are mostly "asynchronous" class meaning we study at our own phase, at our own time! We don't have a class schedule na typical for F2F universities. The professors will give the modules and it's really up to us kung kelan tayo mag-aaral. Just be wary of the deadlines ng mga activities! So that means we can study everyday on weekdays, or weekends, anytime! 😄

Yep! The profs will give the modules and activities for the week and you have all the time to do it! (Just make sure to do it before the deadlines!😉) Although there are some subjects that have online synchronous meetings but most do not. UPOU is convenient for those who are studying abroad, working students and for those who prefer online-based modality unlike other campuses! 🌻💗

Hello! Is it okay that you're more inclined with med but chose UPOU? Iba po kasi ang curriculum for UPOU (we do not have medical terms here, lalo na sa BAMS program as it is more on multimedia-related idealogies). UPM focuses more on aspect of pre-med, but congrats on passing UPOU! 😉 You should study and take pre-med for you to take NMAT, mas swak and suitable po iyon kesa po mag-ral ng BAMS. Just my two cents here, I hope this helps!

I think it is possible to transfer/choose UPOU as your desired campus as long as you follow the instructions (and if makakahabol sa deadline ng pasahan ng requirements!) 🙂. Hello Jovie! Yes, UPOU is still part of UP, so legit na legit po ang UPOU despite being an online-based university. If magtake po kayo ng Bachelors Degree (such as BAMS and BES), may diploma po silang makukuha after 4 years (if wala pong delays). 😀

Hi Hannah! You can transfer from UPOU to other UP Campuses, however, it may be difficult to transfer to other UP campuses as they have different school year schedule from UPOU. Another thing is that UPOU is a purely online school as opposed to other campuses. Successful transferring to other UP Campuses is a difficult task as you have to carefully plan out your units to be accounted when you shift, and that advise and permission from UP to shift should be reviewed and accepted. This is the information that I gathered during my stay here as well as from my batch's experience with shifting. I hope this helps! 🌻💓

Being online most of the time, hawak mo talaga ang oras mo! 😁 You can study at your own phase, learn by yourself, and use your time efficiently! Hello! A thing about studying here in UPOU is that we are mostly asynchronous online studying modality (meaning we study at our own phase). Bibihira lang po ang synchronous activities (attending Zoom etc.) as it depends on the subjects taken and professors every term. As long as gumagawa po kayo ng mga schoolworks at napapasa on time ang mga activities, there's nothing to worry being "absent" when it comes to UPOU! 😊🌻

Hello! 12 units po every sem ang kinuha ko po (as advised for UPOU students). Subjects such as PE and NSTP are not included sa counting of units. And one can request for overload ng units but advise and approval from UPOU is needed para po makuha yun. I hope this helps! 😁🌻

Heyo! 😉 Hindi po ako nakasubmit agad ng FORM 137 and tama po na school to school transaction po ang magaganap sa FORM 137. To answer your last question, I first got an email from UPOU that I am qualified for admission and they gave me attachments that I need to answer to submit to UPOU. After getting that email, I requested my highschool to send and provide UPOU a dry-sealed FORM 137 and I delivered my documents through LBC! 👌

Hello po Sir Rich! 😊 Our PE is online din po (which consists of Walking, Yoga, Fundamentals, and Chess) and our schoolwork is submitted at our school's online website. Wala po sa curriculum po namin ang ROTC (since online lang po kami for the duration of our college years in UPOU). As for meeting up with classmates, there are subjects (such as CWTS) that make us meet with each other although mostly, it is entirely up to us if we want to see one another (for school purposes and/or for meet-ups in general). Lastly, it's difficult to be in an online set-up as opposed to the normal F2F school from other schools as we do not "experience" the usual college life. It's nice to keep in-touch with my friends through socmed applications and sometimes, we meet when we have free time. That's from my experience here in UPOU! 🌻💕

Because it's a free schedule, do the students have enough time for freelancing work? Campus life is over rated I think ..... I spent 3-4 hours daily on the road during my college days and had a hard time to look for napping places during long breaks in between classes.

No problem! UPOU students can apply for varsities as well! There is no need to go to campus for exams as we are an online-based modality. Although there are some f2f activities throughout the schoolyears. Students can do freelancing while studying as this is an advantage for Open Universities.

Hello again! For BAMS, anything will do but there are some subjects that require downloading software applications on computers/laptops. I mostly use my PC to do my schoolwork and a tablet for back-up. 😁
In my own persona preference, laptops are a good option for "on-the-go" students na madalas mag-travel or pumunta sa iba't-ibang lugar. Computers are more on the "stationary" students that are mostly in their homes as they study. Tablets and Ipads can be used as a "back-up" device for learning. I guess it depends on what kind of user you are and your learning style! I hope this helps! 💻🌻

Tingin nyo po sapat na 8gb ram laptop for the softwares po?
The bigger the ram, the better. 24GB ram is the ideal as there will be heavier workload as you go study at UPOU. Plus mapapakinabangan mo yung bigger ram for a long time at maganda siya for multi-tasking! Mas sulit siya for softwares, applications, big investment siya pero great returns din! 😊

Hello again! Sa UPOU, we are mostly "asynchronous" class meaning we study at our own phase, at our own time! We don't have a class schedule na typical for F2F universities. The professors will give the modules and it's really up to us kung kelan tayo mag-aaral. Just be wary of the deadlines ng mga activities! So that means we can study everyday on weekdays, or weekends, anytime! 😄

Yep! The profs will give the modules and activities for the week and you have all the time to do it! (Just make sure to do it before the deadlines!😉) Although there are some subjects that have online synchronous meetings but most do not. UPOU is convenient for those who are studying abroad, working students and for those who prefer online-based modality unlike other campuses! 🌻💗

Hello! Is it okay that you're more inclined with med but chose UPOU? Iba po kasi ang curriculum for UPOU (we do not have medical terms here, lalo na sa BAMS program as it is more on multimedia-related idealogies). UPM focuses more on aspect of pre-med, but congrats on passing UPOU! 😉 You should study and take pre-med for you to take NMAT, mas swak and suitable po iyon kesa po mag-ral ng BAMS. Just my two cents here, I hope this helps!

Mostly asynchronous po sa UPOU but there will be synchronous classes depending on the subject and profs (although bihira lang ang mga ganitong instances). Hello Jovie! Yes, UPOU is still part of UP, so legit na legit po ang UPOU despite being an online-based university. If magtake po kayo ng Bachelors Degree (such as BAMS and BES), may diploma po silang makukuha after 4 years (if wala pong delays). 😀

Hi Hannah! You can transfer from UPOU to other UP Campuses, however, it may be difficult to transfer to other UP campuses as they have different school year schedule from UPOU. Another thing is that UPOU is a purely online school as opposed to other campuses. Successful transferring to other UP Campuses is a difficult task as you have to carefully plan out your units to be accounted when you shift, and that advise and permission from UP to shift should be reviewed and accepted.
This is the information that I gathered during my stay here as well as from my batch's experience with shifting. I hope this helps! 🌻💓

Hello Carl! here at UPOU, we are purely online as our learning modality. That means we spend our time using the MyPortal website where we do our "school" activities. Being online most of the time, hawak mo talaga ang oras mo! 😁 You can study at your own phase, learn by yourself, and use your time efficiently! UPOU is great for working students also as they can work and study at the same time. And if you are an incoming undergraduate student, tuition is free!

Actually, kakatapos lang ng enlistment period last January 29 ng UPOU for the 2nd Semester... 😥 If incoming 1st year (freshie) po sila, I think the enrollment period for that is within April to May (I'm not exactly sure about this). Paano kung may absent ka sa online class?
Hello! A thing about studying here in UPOU is that we are mostly asynchronous online studying modality (meaning we study at our own phase). Bibihira lang po ang synchronous activities (attending Zoom etc.) as it depends on the subjects taken and professors every term. As long as gumagawa po kayo ng mga schoolworks at napapasa on time ang mga activities, there's nothing to worry being "absent" when it comes to UPOU! 😊🌻

Ang binayaran ko lang po is yung shipping fee of my UPOU ID (pero now po, need na po bayaran ang ID if magpapagawa po sila according to my friends). For your second question, yes po, sa UPOU free tution po as long as undergraduate po sila and have yet to have their bachelor's/associate degree.😊

May bayad po ba application sa mga course?
Hello! If incoming freshman po sila with no degrees, free po ang tuition dito sa UPOU (that includes the application of courses). However, if meron na po silang diploma or bachelor's degree, they have to pay fees according to the courses taken for the each semester. Wala naman!😅 Pwede mo na i-flex na meron kang UPOU ID and pin hehe... You can use and present your ID for student discounts and gain benefits of having a student D (such as entering school buildings, discount fees, and more)! 😁

Ngek! 😖 There will be a link for you to apply for student ID, lagay mo lang details mo doon and wait for it to ship (ganyan ginawa ko noon). I waited for an email that my application for ID has been noted para sure na natanggap nila yung gform application ko. I waited for a month and nakuha ko naman siya through LBC. I guess it takes time since maraming incoming students per batch. Hintay-hintay lang!
Hello po, I just want to ask if all UPOU Courses are taken online. Also is it taken on your own phase of is it done real-time?
Hi Elle! All UPOU courses are online although there are courses (such as CWTS for NSTP and some major subjects) that holds f2f activities from time to time. 😄 Here in UPOU, we study at our own phase but still follow a certain schedule every subject. There are also courses that has online class meetings but it's only occasionally. I hope I answer your questions! 💛
Ilang units po per sem kinuha niyo?
Hello! 12 units po every sem ang kinuha ko po (as advised for UPOU students). Subjects such as PE and NSTP are not included sa counting of units. And one can request for overload ng units but advise and approval from UPOU is needed para po makuha yun. I hope this helps! 😁🌻
