You need to understand that Goa got independence in 1961 well after India got independent in 1947.
The people of Goa were given the option to take citizenship of Portugal and so when Goa got independent the Constitution was applied and the people of Goa didn't have a choice.
Modi is not even educated or at the intellect level of Captainji.
Modi has twisted the statement and said that it is a plan to break the country...what a lie.

I supported the BJP because of our PM n our CM P. Sawant. It's surprising that our PM is comparing Goa to J&K which shows that our PM doesn't know the real history of Goa. Most Indians, including some Goans, say that Goa was a colony without understanding and bothering to know how Goa has a unique identity. It is only because of the foundation laid centuries ago. True Goans (Hindus, Muslims and Christians) know how the Civil Code, the education system, etc have ended systematic discrimination and fostered a harmonious bond among diverse communities in Goa.
Based on the support, it appears Capt Viriato Fernandes is a strong candidate in South Goa and may even win. But will he be able to bring in a major change? Seeing the happenings in Delhi, many people think that non-BJP MPs may be controlled. Many BJP supporters feel that by taking action against Kejriwal at election time, BJP has not done the right thing and is showing colours of dictatorship and religious fanatism which is affecting our PM's image worldwide, specifically after Manipur and other places where Christians are being targeted.
