Sin is missing the mark. Transgression is missing on purpose and iniquity is missing because of bad form. David blamed his iniquity for his choice to sin and he went on to declare that what he lacked was truth in his inward parts. Lucifer had iniquity in his heart and then he sinned was cast down and passed it on to humanity. Iniquity is any lie that you hold to be true.... it's why people cut themselves, it's why they commit adultery, it's why we over eat, lust, steal and kill. The soldiers blindfolded Jesus and hit him and then they would remove the blindfolded and taunt him... Prophesy unto us! Who smote thee? He was wounded for our transgressions and he was bruised for our iniquities. All we like sheep have gone astray and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. By his stripes we are healed
Thanks for the concise explanation of sin, transgression and iniquity. Can you additionally explain why was Jesus wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities etc .... but the word "sin" is not used.
@@fabiennemitchell2371 You are so welcome :-) The definition of sin covers any and all forms of rebellion against God. The wages of sin is death.... sins of commission and omissions... sins done in ignorance and sins with knowledge, they are all worthy of death. But what Jesus did.... his being bruise.... the mental, physical and spiritual abuse that he suffered.... they were specifically for, not only delivering us from the penalty of sin... they were for healing us from the power of sin... Jesus didn't just take our place, he delivered us from the bondage/deception of iniquity
@@larrylanham2779 So....Jesus delivered us from the power and deception of sin, as well as the penalty for sin. Then that's why we are saved for heaven (because redeemed for our sins) YET often fail in the issues of life because of trespasses and iniquities - the power of sin. Therefore, the legality of the cross stands but we have to claim its power over our lives especially with regards to iniquities. Is this correct? My small prayer group have just finished a 3-day fast to address generational curses. We repented of our sins, and that of our parents and grandparents etc, and took it to the cross (all that it stands for). One member suddenly could not speak, and began manifesting, writhing about....Huge deliverance because the iniquities of the bloodline was addressed, repented for, and nailed to the cross.
Thought Iniquity was the desire to transgress the law of god. God said to Satan that he was perfect in all his ways, but Iniquity was found in him. A desire to be higher than god. Then transgression, hence the war in heaven and the casting out of the devil. Thanks for the info, and god bless.
Thank you for this teaching
