Doug Puthoff you just took the words and thoughts right out of my mouth. I just found the actual song before this animated short. Such WONDERFUL MEMORIES, MAN!!
Thanks everyone for all of your wonderful comments. This is such a cool animation short that I just had to post it. I only saw this piece once in a theater back in the early 80s. It was shown before the main feature, of which I cant remember, because Im Mad stole the show that night, and I had been searching for it for a very long time. Glad that we have a place like TH-cam to share things like this. -Bob
I remember seeing this video on PBS when I was 9, when we first had cable, and again in 1993 on a fluke. Loved it ever since, and I was glad when i found the song on "The Chess Box Set." Classic material!

This has been one of my favorites ever since I saw it on the big screen at the Serra theater in Daly City, CA with a group of buddies. Good times, good friends, good popcorn and a great cartoon flick.
Yes, I caught that split second change, and was able to get a screen shot of the frame transformation to the glamour girl. You would miss it if you blink.
I been looking for this for years I seen this one and dog brain on Nickelodeon when I was a kid. I could never think of the title of this cartoon but I remembered that guy with the tentacle arm and the chicken cooking and eating a chicken. I never thought of looking up the name of the studio. I couldn’t make out the name because of it being too bright red to read until I tried making out the letters in each word.
Nice. Very nice. Great tune. Great innovation of classic cartoonists style. But.. so everyone gets a credit.. Toledo.. Black Ear the Dog.. Vern.. except the saxophone player. What's up with that? (I'm not counting the chicken.) That's very groovy sax playing there. So how come the little poodle didn't get a credit. Seems like a gyp to me.
Awesome! This was on Nickelodeon in the mid to late 80s!
This was weird. Gloriously weird. I saw this once on HBO in 1982 and was hoping I'd find on TH-cam someday. Finally I found it.

I love Willie Maboon thanks to this animation!

I remember this cartoon
I remember Nickelodeon used to broadcast this animated film in the 1980s. The song was released in 1950 on Chess Records.

5:36 is my favorite verse 😅
I kept clicking & pausing till I saw it. Pretty cool....right! "The Simpson's" opening trailers usually have hidden stuff in there too.
The man pulling the cactus plant always reminded me of my dad.
and "Special Effects by" Accident
The "glamour girl" literally pops up IN BETWEEN seconds 3:55 and 3:56.
I didnt remember this, but the ice cream triggered a memory: I have seen this before.
Note in the credits for "Audience provided by" - Human Error
Yes, I have "Jimmy the C" and just posted it on TH-cam, but it's still processing.
Me too!
does anyone have the early Clay-mation video of Georgia On My Mind sung by a caracature of then-President Jimmy Carter called "Jimmy The C"?
Marv Newland is a genius.

I think the little poodle was Black Ear.
