This interview was awkward, but David went along with it as always. Polite, a gentleman.

She was so (!!!) intersted on his sexuality. Who cares?! He was so polite...

She asked about other things too, not just his sexuality. Besides, a lot of people cared about David's approach to his different phases of his sexuality and how he covertly/overtly expressed it in his art through the years (him being a stylish and good looking man that was comfortable in his masculinity further drove this and captivated people). His sex appeal to people across the spectrum was a part of his brand, even post-70s. That's part of what makes him such a fascinating and enduring figure in the arts and pop culture. Some interviewers may be a bit clumsy in how they phrase their inquiries about his sexuality, but I really do think they are just fascinated by how his mind works, not just about sexuality but his worldview in general and how that inspires his work.

Previously he'd said that as a youngster, however naively, the shared birthday with Elvis sparked his imagination regarding a sense of fate, destiny, via association. Elvis loomed large for his generation. Seeing his cousin enthusiastically dancing to an Elvis song in his parents living room had also made an early impression on the young David.
"Elvis was a major hero of mine"... "and I was probably stupid enough to believe that having the same birthday as him actually meant something."

2:26 onwards is so awkward. "Do you remember the first time you had sex?" - The confusion on David's face, LOL

Can't believe this interviewed was allowed to air and that he got away with saying the things he said and they didn't destroy his career and reputation!
