I have a C64 and a 64c model, the big floppy drive and even a dattasette player. SADLY no disks or tapes to load but that has not stopped me from enjoying some c64 goodness using emulation, sometimes I just play demos in the background while I do other things, that SID chip and what they were able to do with it was AMAZING!
Yep, I have a breadbin and a C as well. Haven't turned them on in ages. For one the whole over voltage thing with the PSU and how unpredictable it is. I need to get either a inline protector, or get a some new PSU's. Then, I have "The C64 Maxi", which I use that for everything now. LOL. It could use a good cleaning from all the use it gets. She's a dirty bird. 🤣🤣 You should get a SD2iec. Simple way to load software from SD. They're super cheap these days. I've got one, love it. Mix that with the Epyx Fast Load cart. C64 Heaven.. Or until you find a D64 that has to use it's own fastloader.🤣🤣 The SID was an amazing sound chip for it's time. I also found some other disks of mine that has a Beastie Boys demo on it. Couldn't put it on here because of CW. But it's an awesome Beastie Boys remix that went around the school playground in when I was young.. Still have it. and it works. 👍👍
Awesome, you know, recently I have been remembering just how amazing the c64 was for it's time. While I admittedly dropped it pretty fast when the AMIGA came along I did tinker with one for a couple of years back in the day, had the big floppy drive and played a few games, oddly I was not too familiar with the DEMO scene for the 64 back then, but it's been great reacquainting myself with it lately. It was such an important step in the history of computers.
It was a huge step, not only to bring computers to the masses, but it was the first computer for almost an entire generation of people that went on to have careers in computing. Some of those became huge in the industry. Yeah man, the demo scene was on hit back then. So was software/game cracks. There was no shortage of c64 software from friends at school or even the arcade down the street. Brings back great memories. Good times my friend, good times....
Great video. Thanks for sharing this. Seeing there's millions of C64 fans out there, how does this video only have 65 views. The TH-cam algorithm is a joke. You should have far more subscribers too. Your videos are awesome. Keep up the great work.
Thanks man. Got to love the yt algorithm. Went from over 1000 views a day at the beginning of the month to maybe 200 or 300 a day. Early this week I was maybe getting just over 100 a day. It is what it is. As long as the folks that find the channel, enjoy it. Like yourself. Thanks again for the kind words and support.
