Love this woman for the last 50 years class never ages still the best are we not lucky to have grown up listening to darlene certainly lifted me when i have been blue lots of love to everyone
We saw Darlene Love right before the world turned upside down (Covid shutdown). What a show. What an amazing artist. She was flat out amazing. I return to this video time and again. It is just pure joy.
I saw Darlene in "Leader of the Pack" - and was stunned to see on checking with the Playbill that she was actually playing herself! That was 26 years ago. She is now 74, kiddies, and she could pass for 40. Her voice is strong, and she has the energy of a 20 year old. Bless you, Darlene, and congrats on finally making it into the Hall of Fame. When I hear you sing, it's 1963 Spring Houseparty at Lehigh, and I feel 20 myself again!!!
Ms. love is now a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, a well-deserved - and long-overdue acknowledgement of this legendary talent (and a very nice person, as well).
Sheer class, this is why I love rock and roll, the joy of watching this clip reminds me just how much I love music. How excited and respectful is the Boss, what a class act and Darlene Love well she is a legend!
"BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN IS A FINE!!!! FINE!!!! FINE!!!! BOY!!!" He has worked very very hard to get where he is today. His popularity is attributed to the fact that he is a one of a kind artist with an original E STREET BAND who jumps on and off the stage with his guitar and sexy raspy voice, and gives himself over the the audience HEART AND SOUL. I would love to be in the same room with Bruce, Neil and Eric Clapton. That would be a real Heaven on Earth experience.
There's no one like Darlene - this is the first song I remember her singing in 63. At that time I didn't know about her singing He's A Rebel and other spector productions.
Just want to thank you for sharing some precious moments of this great musical event w/ the world. I was blessed enough to be there on the 1st nite and I am still hi from it. Love, Love, Love.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Always did like that song from 1963 even though you don't hear it anymore on the radio. Good Post. Larry N. Boyington, aka Larry Neal, former curator of the Wax Museum on the big 1520 KOMA
July 26: Happy birthday Singer-actress Darlene Love; #84 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of 100 Greatest Singers. Thank you and God bless. Thanks for the upload, Zarastro 1040. Blessings
I´m living in Sweden so I´ll have to wait a while...staying alive ...staying alive...to be able to see it...promised to buy one DVD to a good friend...so I´ll have to ask him to stay alive at least until then..everyone is praising it!
This is an excellent video to start my day off right. As far back as the 1960s, I had a thing for Darlene Love. If ever you watch Elvis' 1968 Comeback Special, Darlene Love is singing background for Elvis; I noticed it all the back in 1968. Of course, Darlene Love never knew it, but I'm more than available! Stevie Nicks too! My Mom laughed when I said, "Hey, look, there's Darlene Love!"
If you want to start your day off with a smile, watch my love interest Darlene Love show you what music is all about! Bruce Springsteen is okay, I guess? But oh my Darlene, Love!
WOW!! Incredible performances'!! If that doesn't make the feet get up and dance I don't know what will. That is a Fine, Fine Song! Thanks so much for posting this one. Love it, love it, love it!! Did I say I love it?
Fabulous song. They all look like they're having so much fun with it, especially the ted head back up singer closest to Darlene. Nothing like the '60s music. And Darlene's got that great power to her voice. Love it.
No one better than Darlene Love.....I'm half way through your book....and all I can think of is that you are lucky that you never got to that 'super star" status...you have lived almost a normal live except........you were blessed with that voice and that face.... so who is more fortunate than you? .
An edited version of this closes out the ‘’20 Feet From Stardom’’ DVD. Nice to see the complete version; I wondered what happened to ‘’he’s a fine, fine SUPER FINE boy!”. His tribute to her at the end echoes mine completely. I need a tissue...
This is much better than the original record - and Bruce doesn't ruin it with any lead vocals...we are spared that torture. The song survives and Darlene shines!
Darlene is from the old school and learned her art the hard way at the hands of the great Phil Spector. Many female singers over the years have only wished they could sing like this lady. Darlene your the best!
An authentic female rocker is our Darlene. She could have been up there with Tina Turner. I love her vitality. Thank you Bruce for honouring this magnificent lady.
Now that was something...getting to know these women in 20 Fett From Stardom film...Darlene 2011 in Rock n´ Roll Hall of Fame..what a dame what a singerin!
sometimes Bruce gets it exactly right,... she is the real queen of E Street and the first lady of Christmas, her performance on Letterman' s Christmas show is the highlight of the season for me.
Absolutely amazing version of her song.. .... This classic song was a flop in Britain at the time the Brits were buying Freddie & the Dreams and the Honeycombs... (enough said) DARLENE LOVE is pure talent....
73 years young and still belting them out like a 20 year old. I love this woman.
+John Petry According to the R&R Hall of Fame bio of Darlene Love, she was born on 26 July 1938 which would make her 77 this year, 76 last year.

Fantastic - Darlene Love amazing - Bruce respects her so much ---12 FEET FROM STARDOM - worth seeing!

We saw Darlene Love right before the world turned upside down (Covid shutdown). What a show. What an amazing artist. She was flat out amazing. I return to this video time and again. It is just pure joy.

This is much better than the original record - and Bruce doesn't ruin it with any lead vocals...we are spared that torture. The song survives and Darlene shines!

The great Darlene Love in the R & R Hall of Fame..And my aunt lost the film with a photo of DL and me!
I would not want to be the poor SOB who has to follow this voice on stage..
you can't start a fire without a spark
And, boys and girls, this is what 70 looks like! (as I'm sure Gloria Steinem would be happy to see!)
70 yrs old????? She looks amazing. Totally youthful. I love her personality.
If this is what 70 looks like, I want a 70-year-old.
Darlene was one of the backup singers on the hit song Sad eyes.
Wow...maybe Bruce should loan the E Street Band out to Darlene & Ronnie Spector for a Wall of Sound Tour. This sounds amazing.
