    Installed your TRD kit last summer. Working great. The gps Speedo has been a great upgrade in my 2000 Malibu Sportster. Keep up the good work Ron!

    I purchased the TRD conversion kit 2 years ago and it’s been great. My only complaint was the color of the gauges (blue) compared to my stock medallion gauges. Not Ron’s fault there just isn’t a lot of options out there for 5” gauges. These look great compared to the Faria gauges. Love all the upgrades to these new units and now jealous I dont have these ones. Glad to see some new TH-cam content too. Keep up the good work Ron.

    Ron and Tina, thanks for the email that recommending this TRD kit. Sounds and looks like a great choice and option. I'll be contacting you at the end of the season for one. I'll check I hope your tach gauge comes with an hour meter included. Best wishes

    Hi Ron thanks for all the help! It’s the best. I have 2002 prostar 209. After running boat for half hour. Once in a when I bring back to neutral oil pressure seems to go low. Alarm goes off and reads Oil 3

      First check oil level, then what weight oil are you using, should be 10-40 or 15-40 weight oil. My next question would be what does the gauge show when idling right after start-up and again at 1500+ within the first 5 minutes. If normal early on, then only shows low pressures when hot I would suspect the oil. Make sure the oil doesn't smell like gas either.

      @@rontanis1024 oil level is a little high Oil using 25-40 weight gauge at startup engine idling is usually 40 and at 1500+ it’s going to be 40+.

    Love your channel. I’m in the process of buying a 1991 Ski Centurion Falcon. It’s very clean kept in a garage only 440 hours. I know that could be bad or good. He has all maintenance records. Any problems from this year I should look for? Thanks

      Nothing specific, if she runs out smooth & develops around 4300-4500 RPM, the rest is basic inspection.

      Ok thanks Have you done a video on proper way to change oil and filter? I didn’t find one.

    Ron,
    I’d like to request a video on oil pressure systems. I have been troubleshooting my system on a 1986 ski Nautique. I have replaced gauge with correct vdo replacement and the sending unit with correct replacement. Tried several different sending units. Gauge reads 80 psi in all scenarios? Any help / advice is appreciated.

    • @torsson2
      @torsson2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Find/borrow a manual gauge that you can thread where the sending unit is and check so you don't just have 80 psi.

    Awesome video, question though. I would like to set my correct hours on the tach gauge so hypothetically, if I were to connect the positive and negative out of the boat would the hours count up?

    • @rontanis1024
      @rontanis1024  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No that will not work, the hourmeter only works when the tach is active (engine running) There are safeguards built in to prevent you from doing what you woudl like to do. There are others who would buy high hour boats, replace the hourmeter & re-sell the boat with false hours showing. Mark the old hourmeter reading on the back of the new tach & in your boat paperwork. The engine emc also records the hours if ever needed.

      @@rontanis1024 I bought a beautiful one owner 1992 Master Craft ProStar 190 this spring in mint condition with 169 hours showing on guage. I do not know what the EMC is but is there a way I can find out how many original hours are on this boat?

    • @rontanis1024
      @rontanis1024  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@donaldayers2610 If it's carbureated, no, if it's Fuel injected, yes, the fuel injection systems rely on an engine computer (ECM) to control injection, ignition, etc. and it would also contain engine hours, but can only be read by a brand specific code reader, not they type used for cars.
