Funny how the main characters are depicted as honest hard-working people, yet they are surrounded by former partners and co-workers who are hopelessly corrupt.

The son actually seems more remorseful than most. I’m not sure 3-9 years in prison would have worked for him. Granted I don’t know what happened, but if he was genuinely terrified for his life, he’s a kid that made a stupid decision.

Totally agree. That the result was not always predictable added to the realism of the early years. SVU and Criminal Intent turned into versions of "Perry Mason". SVU has been totally dead to me since Christopher Meloni (lead detective Elliot Stabler) left after 12 seasons.

Stone always seemed to have such a hard on for white boys in this series. Attorney: "We'll plead out to Jaywalking II". Stone: "Jaywalking I. 15 to 20 years, Attica, the basement." Some of the writers must have had bad, bad memories of their school days.

  • @johnmccrossan9376

I appreciate how Lenny says he doesn't know. Everybody has these grand ideas about what's right and wrong but if it was your kid? That's a different kettle of fish all together. Maybe you see a side of it you know the jury won't, maybe you have beyond reasonable doubt proof it was someone else but you know there's no way you can get a warrant. I see a lot of people saying the dad should've let the kid fall, that's the kind of parenting that works if you're dealing with safe stakes, kid gets caught shoplifting? He needs to learn, let him do the week of community service or whatever other slap on the wrist he gets, but not when he's looking at the best years of his life down the toilet, his job prospects resigned to flipping burgers and his education cut off at the knee
