Good Charlotte is a pop punk band from Waldorf, Maryland who, have played a vital role in the alternative rock, emo, punk rock community. Starting out in 1996, they found success with their debut self-titled album, with two of its singles - ‘Little Things’ and ‘Festival Song’ - both charting in the Top 10. Among their top songs includes, “The River,” "The Anthem” and "I Just Wanna Live". Additionally, the group have charted six songs in the US Hot 100, the most successful being 2002’s ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’, which went to No. 1 on the Alternative chart. Good Charlotte’s signature sound has made them one of the most recognizable bands of the genre, garnering them a handful of MTV Video Music Awards and an NRJ Award over the years. Throughout the years, the group has continued to produce solid releases with consistent collaborations, ranging from Waka Flocka Flame and Waterparks to Sam Carter. Fun fact: I saw these guys live in 2005 with Simple Plan and Relient K...What a show. I thought Good Charlotte's guitars were literally going to tear the roof off the venue they were cranked up so loud...Couldn't hear for several days after that one lol.
My first A in college in dec 2004 was due to a 6 page essay on this song and its meaning ...that means alot to me due to the fact I have a learning disability in reading and writing, but I was so passionate about GC that I spent at least 12 hours on that assignment. Got to see them 5 months later for the first time in concert. Was going through so much BS in life that seeing them and them playing hold on literally saved me from suicide that weekend. Every time I was suicidal I played hold on on repeat. Thank you GC for being yourselves and making amazing music!

I saw them in concert in 2005 when I was 17...They literally blew the roof off the place...Their guitars were cranked to full blast and you almost couldn't breath from the raw power coming from the amps...It was fuckin rad. One of the loudest shows I've ever seen to this day... Relient K and Simple Plan also performed. Nostalgic AF. Idk how them boys in Good Charlotte pushed that much raw power without their guitars exploding.
