$4K & that's a bloody clean Holden VS Series II ute! Two things a man needs in his life, a shed & a Holden Ute! You looked at home in VS Ute Scotty. I reckon if the cameras weren't there, you would have stashed it in your shed! I'm lucky to own 2 VY Utes, a V6 & A V8 and they both get looks. I'm looking forward to this series. I did notice on the runs that the tonneau cover sagged in the back when you got some speed behind you which would have caused drag. I recommend if you can find a hard lid for it if possible.

It would be great to go through the experience to see how straightforward it is for anyone who might be considering doing an engine swap as wild as this.

You can double clutch when changing up, clutch in and shift to neutral, let the clutch out and back in with the revs lower to slow the box, and then into the next gear. Takes longer, but works around the street. This'll be a cool project Scotty
Assuming that the 3800 V6 in rear drive configuration retains the small bell housing from the 60 * engines, the all aluminum LS4 ( 5.3 ) found in ( USA spec at least ) front drive cars has the same small bell housing. The only real issue with such a swap is the LS4 does not have a spot for a starter mount, the starter is bolted to the transmission. The channel LS4 King has info for front drive stuff and got together with Moroso to make a low mount starter / oil pan conversion.
Nice, so are you saying that the LS4 could theoretically just bolt straight upto the original manual gearbox in this ute? I have the original T5 manual from my 94 VR ute which came with the Buick 3800 and it bolted straight upto my L67 swap.
Can't believe you got this for 4K Scotty !! It's really clean and tidy for that price, I really miss my VS/5 speed ute, had to sell it because I got re-trenched, very sad day :(

I've had my VS Series 3 ute for nearly 15 years, pretty much stock mang auto, could've upgraded to something newer in that time but I've grown to love it too much.
Did you get the weight rechecked. I thought if you paid that much for a weighbridge certificate it should be accurate. Caravan owners and truckers are relying on this to be a safe and reliable measurement. From memory the curb weight of those utes v6 and manual were about 1400.
Oh ffs, obviously I should have been clearer. They were never produced here or officially imported as a car for the UK market. Yes there a few here, but they were never developed or intendend for European markets.
@STREETMACHINETV. Scotty that colour is a VS Series 3/VT colour. Shitloads of Statesman/Caprice came in that colour as they continued producing VS utes/statesmans until 2000 if I'm not mistaken.
